About the property

Located on 5.5 acres in the Hiawatha National Forest. Only minutes from town!

Stutts Creek Retreat is an Air Conditioned, private retreat on 5.5 acres , on a hill overlooking the Stutts Creek. The cottage is located only 15 minutes SE of Munising or 6 miles S of Shingleton. The cottage is approximately 1600 sq. ft and has enough sleeping space for 8 to 12 guests! We are smoke free at the cottage. You are welcome to bring your dog with prior approval and an additional fee. The property is wooded, private and just a perfect place to get away from your busy lifestyle if only for a little while. Bring your canoe or kayak and fish for brook trout in this river. If you can tear yourself away from this comfortable setting, Munising and Pictured Rocks is only a short 15 mile drive. So, you can still take in Lake Superior and all that Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore has to offer!

The cottage is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The living room includes luxurious leather furniture, north woods lamps and chandeliers, 48' T.V. with deluxe satellite package and a view of the creek. There is a small den off of the living room that overlooks the creek and has a double size futon for relaxing or additional sleeping space, a desk and a rocking chair. There is so much for you here at the Stutts Creek Retreat, it's impossible to list everything!

The full kitchen includes: granite counters, gas range, large refrigerator, table and chairs underneath an antler chandelier, dishwasher, garbage disposal, 4 slice toaster, coffee maker, automatic ice maker, lots of cupboards, great well water for drinking, Pampered Chef pizza stones and other Pampered Chef products, plates, glasses, silverware, cooking and baking supplies, hand mixer and much more! You can access the deck from the kitchen where you can make use of the gas grill and picnic table and gather with family to enjoy a wonderful cookout. Watch the wildlife in the river, including swan, deer, and a moose has been seen in the past! Stutts Creek Retreat will be a place where you can catch up with nature, relax & read on the deck, fish for brook trout or just sit in front of the TV on a rainy day. Enjoy your evenings stargazing while making s'mores over the campfire.

The large master bedroom has 2 queen size beds, T.V. with satellite and en-suite bathroom with large shower. The family style loft has 1 queen size bed and 5 twin size beds. The loft overlooks the breathtaking creek. Enjoy the swans, otter, deer, wild turkey and other wildlife throughout the season. This beautiful cottage has wood floors and carpeting throughout. The cottage is decorated with a North Woods theme. The second full bathroom with shower is just across from the laundry area. You can enter the mudroom through a second entry to this cottage…a great place to keep all of your outdoor gear.

Why Kendra Mallory chose Upper Peninsula

This is our secondary home. We absolutely love our cabin, and would love to share it with you. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to get away from it all!

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is away from any main road so there is not any worries with the kids or dogs. The view is breathtaking from all of the windows. There are not any neighbors to worry about.

This is the place you want! We will be back!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Stutt's Creek Retreat exceeded expectations. This property is special - it is obviously loved by the owners. The cabin itself is very clean and comfortable. We truly felt at home. The property is very well maintained and has stunning views of the Forrest. The night sky was breathtaking as there were 5x as many stars viable out here in the national Forrest compared to home!!

The property owner is great to work with. Very quick to respond to our questions and really made us feel welcome.

If you are looking for a true gettaway, this is the place you want.

Clean, comfortable, spacious

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this cabin during our trip to Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Although we visited many interesting places during our trip, this cabin itself was one of the highlights of our trip. The cabin is actually located in a quite secluded area. The view of the surrounding from the large glass windows was beautiful. The trail leading to the cabin was unpaved and rustic which gave it a cabin in the woods feel. After all the driving through woods we are pleasantly surprised when we entered the cabin.

We were a group of eight and the cabin was very spacious, comfortable and clean. There was one large bedroom downstairs which our parents enjoyed, but the rest of us were very excited to sleep in the attic. Despite being away from any store nearby, the cabin had almost all the essentials we needed to make our stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. They even had board games.

Would definitely come again if we visited UPM.

Experiencing the Michigan upper Peninsula

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the character of the cabin. It was an excellent location to do day trips from. Waterfalls, Springs and other colorful fall scenery. Wi-Fi reception was excellent while the cell service was minimal. The place is stocked with plenty of supplies, all the kitchen utensils necessary. No regrets.

Lovely location!

  • 3 of 5

The location was exactly what we were looking for! In the woods, away from the world. Should have asked a few more questions about the loft, the stairs were very steep, nobody over 60 could easily manage them. They were off limits to us and our old dog. The bathroom off the laundry room was out of order, which left us with the on-suite only. The house was tidy, but could have used a thorough cleaning - the kitchen cabinets and floor were "tacky" like they were covered in years of cooking grease.

We enjoyed the shipwreck tour, went to Mackinac Island, which was a beautiful drive and fun to visit. Pictured Rocks was also a stop on our trip, as always. Enjoyed driving the back roads, but boy watch out for those loggers!

My group totaled 7 - we are a hiking/kayaking/outdoors group of mid-fifties to mid-sixties Christian singles. The Stutts Creek Cabin was perfect for us - the guys got a room and the ladies got the other - because the ladies outnumber the guys we took the loft. The views are stunning! The kitchen is very well equipped and while we didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin other than to fix meals, eat and sleep, we were delighted at how clean and comfortable it was. Since our kayak/hike trip for Friday the 11th was cancelled due to poor weather conditions (4 foot waves and windy) we will undoubtedly return to "spend" our rainchecks - and hope to be able to stay here. Many thanks for the wonderful place to stay!
