Jim Saunders purchased this villa in 2014
This property became available in early 2014. When we realized it was an original adobe, built not long after the San Miguel Mission, we knew we had something special. The original home was built from adobe blocks that were handmade from soil in the area by the mission, by local artisans. We have kept two small areas of the walls exposed so you can see the beauty in the blocks that were handmade.
The exterior walls in the original home are approximately two feet thick.
This keeps the home at a very even temperature in Summer and Winter.
It is conveniently located on River Road about 4 1/2 miles North of Paso Robles. This makes it very private, yet easy to get to and from shopping and local restaurants.
The home is also very close (about 4 1/2 miles) to the historic San Miguel Mission, one of the original 27 Historic Missions in California, which was recently, beautifully rebuilt after the devastating 2003 Earthquake.
We are located very close to many wineries such as:
JLohr (two miles)
Villa San Juliette (five miles)
Tackett Family Vineyards
And MANY more
We give 5 Stars from arrival to the end of the trip. Jim and Debbie Saunder's were awesome host. We ordered a few cases of there great Hearst Ranch Wines. We had beautiful views and a great time with our kids and grandkids. Great quality family time on longs hikes and animal viewing. My granddaughters and grandsons are still talking about the trip. That's how we rate all vacations. Thanks again for your hospitality Jim and Debbie 😀
We knew we were going to have a good time - 4 couples, all great friends for many years. But the "Hacienda" was the icing on the cake! So quiet, comfortable and beautiful, we really enjoyed our stay and even took advantage of the wonderful kitchen. This was my first trip to PR and we will be back, already looking forward to returning to the Hacienda!!
We were celebrating our Anniversary with our family, 8 adults. It was a Surprise Gift for us! The Adobe house & setting was perfect! Beautiful inside and outside. Brightly decorated, large rooms, all of them. The kitchen and dinning room were important to us. Everything was there for meal preparation and seating. We spent such fun and peaceful times in the great patios with views of fields and mountains. Sunsets are spectacular. The location was convenient to lots of winery's town. Thank you so much for such a special place.

There were three couples staying at this property. Included was a tour of the Hurst Winery across the street. What a wonderful time our group enjoyed!!! Jim gave us an informative tour after which we had a wine tasting with his wife Debbie, both more than just friendly! We had a great time and the wine was excellent. Two couples joined their wine club.
The hacienda was outstanding! Very clean, everything we needed, beautiful sunset view, beds comfortable with TV in every room, all rooms with king size beds. The landscaping was excellent and very well maintained.
We spend a lot of time in Paso Robles and will stay here again and again.
We had a great time at the Adobe. It is a beautiful house in a perfect setting. Margo was completely helpful in her communication leading up to our stay. Thank you all!
Suitable for 4 adult couples, note one bathroom is on opposite side of the house, separate from the bedroom area, but not a problem.
Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Spotty and inconsistent wi-fi. Owners were very gracious and in-touch for any needs. Would definitely stay again ❤️
Winery tours and wine trails abound.
