Brrrrr!! But still lots of fun!!
Thank you for opening your home during the week between Christmas and New Years. We were hoping for sunny beach days, since it was much warmer the week before, but we were faced with cold windy weather. It didn't stop us from having a great time! We still were able to explore the beaches all bundled up, run the dogs, or cook a gourmet meal. Thanks to the well stocked/designed kitchen and proximity to the ocean! Hope to be back when the sun, surf, and waves cooperate! Aloha!
Beautiful home steps from the beach
More spacious then it looks, beautiful decor and freshly renovated. Owners Tami & Kyle were great and left you alone, but also communicated instantly if you needed something! The home had everything we needed, even a pack n play for the baby! Dogs were welcome which was also a plus!
Perfect Location, Perfect Home Sept 2 - 9, 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aloha House. Tami and Kyle provide a complete beach experience at their well appointed home. We were comfortable and while we did not require it, were impressed that the home is wheel chair accessible. Rodanthe is a quiet town and will please anyone wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of larger communities. The beach is superb! Thanks Tami and Kyle!
The house is stylishly decorated while still retaining the charm of an older beach cottage. The owners have thought of everything to make "Aloha" an inviting home away from home, from bath robes to beach chairs. This was our second stay at this property, and I'm certain we'll return again soon.
Aloha property was the best! We loved every minute of it. The house offered everything you could possibly need. The rooms are very spacious, decorated and cupboards are filled with everyday needs. Very clean and kept up. The location was great! The pier is walking distance for great fishing and site seeing. The beach is steps away. The noise of the waves was very calming each night. Kyle was an amazing host. He is ready to help, recommend and guide you with anything from restaurants, sites, fishing and local hangouts. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. I highly recommend this location if you are looking for a home away from home! Thanks Kyle and Tami for a great time, we hope to be back. We wish you the best!
Wonderful accomodations. Updated, clean, very pet friendly and awesome shower!
The Outer Banks Tourist Bureau says : FromThe entire northern end of Hatteras Island was once known as Chicamacomico, but in 1874 the postal service changed the name to Rodanthe, but by the early 1900s, three distinct villages had become established in the Rodanthe area – North Rodanthe, South Rodanthe, and Clark. As the postal sections were subdivided, the northernmost village kept the name "Rodanthe," while the others in the Outer Banks were assigned new names once again. Rodanthe is home to the Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station, the first such station established along the North Carolina coast, in the service of the U.S. Lifesaving Service, which eventually became today's modern Coast Guard. The U.S. Coast Guard was essentially founded in this tiny village. A state historic site is one of the showpieces of this community, where re-enactments using the breeches-buoy rescue cannon, restored buildings and artifacts. Rodanthe is a simple vacation delight with things to do for children and those hungry for history. During the Civil War in 1861, Confederate troops landed on the northern end of the island in an effort to re-take Fort Clark and Fort Hatteras, which had fallen to the Union's first naval invasion of the South. The southern troops chased the 20th Indiana back to their lines near present-day Buxton, only have the Federals reinforced from the southern end of the island. The Union then chased the Confederates northward in a half-hearted skirmish that wags mockingly named "The Chicamacomico Races." More recently, the natural beauty of the beaches of Rodanthe was featured in the major motion picture Nights in Rodanthe starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. The actual locations seen in the film still draw thousands of fans each year, all longing to experience the romance and solitude found so easily at our rentals.
