Huge one bedroom corner penthouse with commanding views

Brand new remodeled one bedroom and new on the market!

This double lanai, dual view top floor penthouse is absolutely over the top!

Unit 606 is a very unique property. It was originally built as the developer of the building's private suite. Based on the size, spaciousness and views of the unit, he used it as a location to host cocktail parties and neighborhood gatherings. Over it's life, the unit has had very few owners and mostly was used as a gathering space.

We recently purchased it and proceeded with a large scale remodel. The results are spectacular. New double pane glass to provide silence when you want, and huge doors to bring the outside in when you prefer.

Modern, fully updated spotless condo with TWO great views of the ocean. Because of the unique corner aspect of the unit, you also get views of Haleakala and the West Maui Mountains. There are only a handful of units in all of Kihei with these views. Everything is new, from the stainless appliance package to the front load washer and dryer, Egyptian cotton beach towels and super high quality linens. This unit is a huge one bedroom with nearly 1000 square feet of open, airy space.

-Two commanding ocean views from two different lanais: take in the outstanding view through the wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass wall in the living room/kitchen and a different view from the master bedroom

-completely remodeled: everything is new, including appliances, front load washer/dryer, furniture, bedding and all utensils, right down to the Henkel knives

-great, central location: walk to shopping, dozens of restaurants, beaches, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and more. There are days we never use our car!

Every time we enter our condo, we are struck by how beautiful the views are. One wall of the living room is entirely made of glass, and the light fills the whole space. In addition, one wall of the master bedroom is glass also, with commanding views of the south Maui coastline. The glass has been replaced with thick double pane glass to provide quiet and moderate the Maui sun. Most units haven't invested in the expense of new glass. At $22,000, I understand why, but the increase in comfort is extreme. I wouldn't rent a unit that did not have updated glass. The lanais are over 16 feet wide and provide a great space to hang out, watch the waves and surfers, and enjoy the tropical weather.

We have furnished our condo to be modern and comfortable. You will find full sized couch and chairs, a king sized bed, tons of storage, large closets. The kitchen is outfitted with a new whirlpool appliance suite including microwave, dishwasher, self cleaning glass topped range and refrigerator with ice maker. We even have special outlets that have USB chargers built into them. The kitchen is outfitted with top quality pans, knives and small appliances.

Free WiFi, phone calls to the US and Canada. A large flat screen TV in the living room and another flat screen in the bedroom. The living room has a blu ray player. There is a radio with a provided cord to plug in your ipad, ipod, iphone or MP3 player

Island surf is in a great central location. Immediately to the north is a area the locals call 'the Triangle'. It has lots of shops and scores of restaurants and night spots. Across the street is Kalama park, offering playgrounds, roller hockey, volleyball, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and wide open spaces to play catch or just hang on the grass. You can watch your friends and family play in the surf right from the front room.

A short drive to the south puts you in the heart of Wailea with upscale dining, shopping and more wonderful beaches.

Island surf houses many great businesses. You can rent bicycles, get a manicure or spa treatment, book a scuba dive, rent surf boards, or eat a great plate lunch all without never leaving the building.

There is a pool and BBQ area on the second floor, both with ocean views.

Since we have two units in the building, and work with the owner of the unit adjacent to ours on the 6th floor, we can offer wedding party accommodations with berths for up to 12 people.

We have a two bedroom/two bathroom unit in the same building. Some guests combine the units as they have family and friends come during their stay. The two bedroom unit is vrbo.com # 454560.

This condo is licensed for vacation rentals, Hawaiian tax id w06580022-01. Beware of condo owners not providing their tax number, often they are scams or not licensed. If you are looking at a rental that does not provide their number, they are probably operating illegally. Please be careful, the state is enforcing these and you may find yourself without a place to stay when you arrive. Try googling 'nonpermitted vacation rentals target of enforcement' to see a recent article on the issue. Kauai recently closed 320 non-permitted vacation rentals with two weeks notice and all the guests were left without accommodations.

We live in the Seattle area and have been visiting Hawaii frequently for the past 15 years. After visiting different islands, we settled on Maui as the best combination of recreation and amenities. We believe you simply cannot do better than Maui. There is a reason the movie stars vacation here!

After looking at scores of condos, we snapped up our unit in the Island Surf. It had the best combination of views, layout, and location. We have found that we can park our car for days at a time and walk to everything. Our unit was dated and tired, so we launched into a full scale remodel. We love the newness of the unit now and the modern feel.

Our plan is to retire and split our time between Maui and Seattle area. Until then, we wanted to share our great location and remodeled unit with others.

Why Matt Keller chose South Maui

We have seen Island Surf on all of our trips to Maui. In fact, we have rented surf boards on the bottom floor in the building. When this unit came for sale, we jumped at the opportunity. After all, this is the top floor Penthouse unit. It is truly the best one in the building. It has such a great location, is within walking distance to so many amenities, and the unit has great views with a open and airy feel. It also was almost 1000 square feet, huge by Hawaiian standards. After looking at Island Surf for so many years, we are still in awe that we were able to buy here.

What makes this condo unique

The best benefit of Island Surf is the view. Following close behind is the size and layout of the unit, 1000 square feet with two walls entirely of glass providing a great, open feeling. Combine that with the central location and ability to walk to so many attractions and you just can't beat it.

Great location and beautiful views

This unit was perfect for our little family of 3. The Queen air mattress was great for our 17yr old. The location is perfect for swimming and walking to local food, coffee and shopping establishments. We had the unfortunate experience of a medical emergency the last four days but the condo was perfect for recovery and relaxation!

Everything you need in Maui

Matt and Colleen really thought of every detail in their Kihei condo! The condo is furnished with all of the basics and then some. It is a great location central to many activities and restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The best place to stay on Maui!!

Thank you Matt and Colleen for providing such a lovely Place for our stay on Maui. From the moment we inquired about your beautiful condo and during our vacation here in Maui, you've been attentive, promptly responsive to any questions and so very kind. This place has everything one could ever need for their stay, including a fully equipped kitchen with great quality utensils, plates, glasses , cookware, condiments, etc that one would use at home. There are even excellent quality beach chairs, umbrella, and towels for the beach, which we used daily, plus snorkel gear and boogie boards for the enthusiasts (maybe we will try next time). The bed is sooh comfortable, I believe even better than our own at home!! The lay out of the condo is so functional, with 2 Lanais and an ability to cordon off the bedroom at night for a wee bit of air conditioning was a huge bonus. It was our first time to Maui so the location right across the street form the ocean and close proximity to so many awesome beaches , restaurants, shopping and grocery store was beyond convenient. And....the view!!!! Ahhh.. I can't say enough about the sunset gazing from the 6th floor !!!

I highly recommend Matt and Colleen's place for your vacation destination. My husband and I will definitely return to this exact location in the future!!

We provide the info on our beds to guests who want to buy for their own home. In fact, it happens so often I think I should start getting a commission! I believe part of what makes staying at our place so enjoyable is the top of the line items we furnish. The sheets are top of the line and high thread count, the couch is a $4000 Flexsteel model, the towels are thick and absorbent. We don't skimp on the details and I think it really adds to guest's vacations. Looking forward to having you back! Matt and Colleen

Everything you need!!!!

This was my second visit on the wonderful island of Maui and we decided to stay in a condo, to get a feel for how we would like to live here. This unit has beautiful views, is beautifully kept and was perfectly located. I can't wait to come back and will be making it a priority to stay here again.

Beautifully decorated, amazing views in the best location! Perfect in every way possible.

My husband and I spent the second half of our honeymoon at Matt & Colleen's amazing condo and we couldn't be happier with our choice!

Matt was excellent at communicating with us, super accommodating to all of our needs and not to mention the most helpful host we've ever encountered!

The condo's veiws are BREATHTAKING! We absolutely loved having two Lanai's to hang out on, our favorite thing was watching the humpback whales while we ate our breakfast each morning, so magical!

The Keller's condo is also fully stocked with anything you might need to cook, spices, utensils, Tupperware, pretty much anything you'd need to feel right at home. They also had beach chairs, snorkel gear & and umbrella, boogie boards and towels to use. All of that made for such a comfortable stay. Speaking of comfortable, the bed is TO DIE FOR! So comfy and with a view of the ocean, you can't beat it!

If you can manage to get yourself out of the bed in the morning, the condo is located in the best spot for exploring! Close to shops, restaurants & all of the best beaches in south Maui. Such an awesome home base for all of your Maui adventures, you will not regret booking this condo!

We are already planning our next trip there specifically so we can stay in this beautiful condo, it's going to have to become a Maui-must for us now!
