About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Baths, Sleeps 8

Sweeping views of Vermont's stunning landscape greet you as you enter your lakefront South Hero vacation rental.

Just a few steps from the lush shores of Lake Champlain, up to eight guests can revel in the sights and sounds of nature's unparalleled beauty in this cabin.

Vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows welcome you in the living area. Soft couches and an armchair offer the perfect place to curl up and watch a DVD on the TV while a fire crackles in the background. Even though you'll be surrounded by nature, you'll be able to stay connected with in-home WiFi.

Grill up a great al fresco dinner on your charcoal BBQ or dine in the eat-in kitchen, which has all the convenient amenities to keep your guests fueled for the day's adventures.

Hosting up to eight vacationers, this spacious cabin has three bedrooms and one-and-a-half bathrooms. The master bedroom has a small private deck and a double bed. The other two rooms also have double beds and there is a sofa sleeper in the living room.

If you're planning on taking a dip in the refreshing waters of Lake Champlain, please don't forget to bring your water shoes. The beaches are filled with stunning stones and shale, so footwear is recommended. There is also mooring available for up to a 20-foot boat.

Nestled in the shadow of the picturesque Green Mountains, South Hero sits on the shores of Outer Mallets Bay, giving you easy access to world class fishing, kayaking, and countless trails for hiking and biking.

Plan a trip that lets you and your guests unplug and recharge at your Lake Champlain getaway.

About Vacasa, VT - Lake Champlain Islands Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This house is right on the lake, beautiful way to wake up, super peaceful in a really quiet neighborhood. The house itself is very accommodating if not slightly outdated but overall that doesn't matter so much. Some very interesting reading inside the house, plenty of older and newer books.

Perfect experience

  • 5 of 5

The pictures on the website don't even do it justice. Absolutely stunning views and all around property. The location and seclusion of this house gave us everything we wanted to accommodate a guys weekend. The house slept 8 of us comfortably and there was tons of yard space for us to spread out and play your classic backyard BBQ games. With direct access to lake champlain we were able to go swimming, canoeing, fishing, etc. with ease. One thing I will suggest is to BRING WATER SHOES (or a spare of old sneakers). It is very rocky.

The back deck w/ the view of the lake is amazing. Perfect spot to post up a have a drink after a meal or day of activities. We took a shuttle into Burlington one night for dinner which was a little expensive, but very worth the piece of mind. This is the perfect place to get away with family or friends.

Minimal air conditioning

  • 3 of 5

There's only one small window air conditioner in the downstairs master bedroom. The upstairs bedrooms were unbearable (>90 degrees F) on the day of arrival.

Beautiful views, good location

  • 5 of 5

The layout of the lake house was good and efficient. It met the needs of our family. The linens were crisp and clean and looked brand new, and there were plenty of them. The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary dishware and cooking needs. (It was nice to find spices and plastic wrap.) There were several fans to move the air, but only one air conditioner (in the master bedroom.) The deck furniture was sufficient, but needed cleaning. Parking was adequate. The staircase to the shoreline is very long and steep. The beach is all slate and shale. Elderly and young people will struggle with this. There was a very nice instruction book to orient us to the property. We will probably return next year.

One additional factor was the discovery of 2 cameras located in the garage, pointed at the property. I am not sure if these cameras were filming us the entire week , or are just used for security when the lake house is empty.
