About Alan (or Tomoko)
Seattle native who started spending summers on Camano island back in the 50s when the family rented a place right near this one. Never got it out of my system and had to finally build this place in 2014 enlisting the services of a great local builder with 30 years of experience. It was all about the view and the surroundings.
Alan (or Tomoko) purchased this House in 2014
Why Alan (or Tomoko) chose Camano Island
It is within a stone's throw of the property my family used to rent every summer when I was a kid. Lots of nostalgia & natural beauty. Hummingbirds, swallows, eagles, wild rabbits and deer are a few of the reasons to like this place. A great view of amazing sunsets is perhaps the greatest thing about it. We are less than 10 minutes away from Cama beach state park where they have the center for wooden boats and boat rentals. Also just beyond that is the other Camano island State park with a boat launch and camping.
What makes this House unique
Faces West, afternoon/evening sun & sunsets. This view helps us detox and relax. It's a great quiet neighborhood for walking and bicycle riding. The back yard is big enough for kids to play in safely and the back deck is a good place for adults to supervise from. Often the only real soundtrack is birds that come to our neighbors assortment of feeders. We always have hummingbird feeders out but there are so many more types to see and hear.

Great little house. Simple and comfortable.
We enjoyed it there. Owners were very communicative and accomadating. Thank you.
Comfortable tidy home, as pictured. Everything we needed.
Nice lay out to the house. Great deck area with view and gorgeous sunsets. And Camano is so friendly!
The property was as described and if you are looking for your own space with two bedrooms this is it. It was clean but definitely no frills. The beds were ok, but the blinds provided no darkness and both my husband and I felt the hand soap had been watered down. If this were a hotel I’d call it a three star hotel. We were not disappointed but definitely not blown away.
Location to the beach is fantastic!
The house is a short walk to the beach which we found very convenient. It was clean and spacious with plenty of room in the long living area. Having the washer/dryer and a full kitchen at our disposal was great! The deck on the back of the house is big with a sloping view toward the beach.
It is very quiet. We are used to sleeping with fans so we ended up buying a box fan at Ace Hardware down the street. There is no AC and it was in the 80's (August) so it was warm during the day but cools off nicely at night. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a pull-out loveseat. The mattress on the loveseat would be ok for a child but know it's not very comfortable for an adult. There is an air mattress though.
There is an IGA Grocery store nearby and some wonderful bakeries on the island.
Overall, great place!
Comfortable newer home with beautiful views
This home was perfect for us to use as a weekend base for family who were attending our nieces' wedding in Cama Beach State Park. The home is immaculate and has a wonderful deck and big picture windows for taking in the views of the Olympic Mountains, Saratoga Straight, and beautiful sunsets. It was a nice four or five block walk down to the beach for birdwatching (Bald and Golden eagles), photography, and more. We enjoyed our stay very much and would gladly do it again if we get the chance. Alan, the owner, was great to work with.
Wonderful house on Camano Island!
We loved the house and island! We had everything we needed. The washer and dryer was a life saver. It is close enough to the water to walk down. The uphill walk back was a little harder lol. Be sure to visit the two state parks. They are beautiful! We even rented a little boat from one. We saw seals, a monk seal, and eagles! Stanwood is very close. It has a wonderful theatre and great food! We would stay here again!
