Seattle native who started spending summers on Camano island back in the 50s when the family rented a place right near this one. Never got it out of my system and had to finally build this place in 2014 enlisting the services of a great local builder with 30 years of experience. It was all about the view and the surroundings.
Alan purchased this House in 2014
Why Alan chose Camano Island
It is within a stone's throw of the property my family used to rent every summer when I was a kid. Lots of nostalgia & natural beauty. Hummingbirds, swallows, eagles, wild rabbits and deer are a few of the reasons to like this place. A great view of amazing sunsets is perhaps the greatest thing about it. We are less than 10 minutes away from Cama beach state park where they have the center for wooden boats and boat rentals. Also just beyond that is the other Camano island State park with a boat launch and camping.
What makes this House unique
Faces West, afternoon/evening sun & sunsets. This view helps us detox and relax. It's a great quiet neighborhood for walking and bicycle riding. The back yard is big enough for kids to play in safely and the back deck is a good place for adults to supervise from. Often the only real soundtrack is birds that come to our neighbors assortment of feeders. We always have hummingbird feeders out but there are so many more types to see and hear.

Great House to stay at
My husband & I had a very pleasurable overnite stay here. Accomadations were excellent!
Beautiful view, cute house!
This is our second time staying in the house and we loved it just as much as the first time- perfect for our family of 6! The view is beautiful, we loved being unplugged and enjoying family time. The walk to the beach is short, the neighborhood is quiet and quaint. We can't wait to head back to Camano Island again!
Clean, neat and comfortable. Everything we needed was there.
We didn’t look around the neighborhood much because it had snowed. Nice community and some cool houses around. Great views of Whidby and Saratoga straits.
Relaxing, Great Base for Touring Region
We just stayed 31 days in this rental that became our base for trips to Seattle, Gig Harbor, Whidbey and San Juan Islands, Mount Baker, Bellingham, and Vancouver, BC. It was a good place to relax between side trips. The two bedrooms served our needs perfectly as we used one for storing luggage and overflow supplies. The laundry facilities made life easier given the length of our stay. Even though there were only two of us, two bathrooms came in handy, one with a deep soaker-tub. The kitchen was outfitted well and was equipped with a full-size refrigerator and a dishwasher. We were able to save a lot of money by being able to prepare meals at home. The views of the water, Whidbey Island, the-far off Olympic Mountains and sunsets were at times spectacular. We enjoyed walking along the beach which was about 4 blocks away. Our dog was comfortable and enjoyed long walks through the neighborhood. There were places where he could be let off the leash for better exercise. Alan, the owner, gave us lots of local history and advice on places to see. He even came by to pick up our recyclable trash midway through our stay. Stanwood was nearby with great grocery stores, post office, and most of the amenities one might need. We found a Costco and Walmart in Arlington near the interstate, and we were able to get UPS and FedEx deliveries (but not mail or USPS packages). We rented videos to make up for the lack of cable TV, and we had good Wi-Fi reception using our hotspot or by tethering our smart phone. We would stay here again, especially for an extended visit to the area.
We were here for most of December and into January. The view is fantastic. (Walk to the top of the hill at sunset and you may get invited to sit around the fire pit and have a bloody mary--friendly locals) A short walk to the beach is a must, even in the dead of winter.
House is new and very tidy. You'll find everything you need. Would have been fun to be here in summer to enjoy the back deck and BBQ. Alan is very attentive and emailed me frequently to check on us. Great spot.
Very enjoyable place to stay for Thanksgiving.
The views magnificent, the property clean and very well appointed, the owners abundantly helpful and responsive; what more could one ask?
