About Christy Buchanan
Looking for a perfect mountain home for our family we came across this awesome home. Previously known as the "Nisqually River Longhouse", then turned into our private residence. With nature at our backdoor we enjoyed walks to the river, hiking at the park in the summer and tubing in the winter time. We are excited to share our mountain home with others and help them create a great vacation!
Christy Buchanan purchased this Lodge in 2005

We celebrated my wife’s birthday here and were pleased to see that the description and photos matched the bunkhouse completely. The kitchen was well-equipped. We liked the idea of experiencing a salt water hot tub and it did not disappoint. The water was hot and it was quiet and relaxing. We took the room with the spa tub and the bed was comfortable. The location is great, so very close to the entrance of the mountain. And we didn’t notice any noise from the main road nearby. We did do some snowshoeing but we really just wanted to spend time at the house and ended up watching Netflix, putting together a jigsaw puzzle on the huge dining room table, and enjoying the hot tub. Christy was friendly and professional. She gave us advice on where to go to eat in town. We’d love to go back. Hopefully, it will snow next time!
Thank you so much for a well worded review! I'm so happy that you both enjoyed your stay! We look forward to having you back.

Hot Tub On The Way To Paradise!
We took our two boys’ families up to Mt. Rainier for this past weekend at a cabin we rented just outside the park. We all had a wonderful time and it was another great bonding experience for us with the grandkids as we gave the two deluxe upstairs bedrooms to our adult children while we stayed downstairs in the “bunkroom” with the our two 6-year-old grandkids (a futon bed and two sets of bunk beds). Hot tub was awesome in the A-frame out-building...beautiful cabin with SAT TV & Blu-Ray player, deluxe kitchen with anything you might need! With Mt. Rainier park just walking distance away it could not have been more convenient for checking out all the park had to offer. Sitting on the country porch in the evening watching the kids play was good for the soul! We were very pleased!
Thank you for your review! We are so happy that your family made awesome memories at our Bunkhouse. May all that enter as guests leave as friends....
Life is good,
Location location location
This beats anything in the area, Nisqually entrance literally a right turn away. House was nice and big, a little warm due to the freak heat wave, but we used fans and it was comfortable. Didn't use the hot tub but quite unique with the salt water set up. Nice fire pit but unfortunately there was a burn ban. Kitchen was good and well stocked. Only complaint was the queen bed in the upstairs bedroom facing the front of the house needs to either be replaced or flipped. I couldn't sleep in the bed with my wife as it turned into a "taco" and I kept rolling into the middle. Ended up sleeping in one of the bunk beds. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay here.
Thank you for your review. I'm glad your family enjoyed your stay! Your comfort is important to us. We will promptly look at that bed. They are new mattresses, maybe it's the support underneath. Your feedback is very helpful, I don't want any more guests having a "taco" situation!
