perfect location in fayetteville, wv. walkable to the city and hiking trails. house was perfect for our small group of 6 adults and 2 kids. owners were very friendly. wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Beautiful house in quaint Fayetteville West Virginia
The house was so well kept and clean, we were very impressed. It's a nice house for a family reunion or group gathering
We came up for the weekend to raft the Upper Gauley. We did not stay at the home much as we were busy. When we did stay there, it felt like a home. It was well stocked with all of the supplies we would ever need. It was very clean. It has high end appliances. There was a parade right down the street in front of the home. It was very entertaining. We walked to restaurants for dinner every night. I would recommend the home to everyone.
McGrath House a Wild, Wonderful stay.
The McGrath house was the perfect house for a semi large family (9 adults and 1 small child) to stay. The location was very close to restaurants and shopping in Fayetteville. The whitewater rafting, hiking and climbing were just minutes away. The house was accommodating, spacious and very well maintained and appointed. Bill the owner was very gracious and knowledgeable about the area.
Very clean and well maintained house. It has everything you could ask for.
Had a wonderful stay. The house is well maintained, inside and outside. Kitchen is well equipped with everything. Beds were very comfortable. In all my years of renting from VRBO this is the first time the home owner came by to introduce himself and to top it if gave us awesome home made cake. I would highly recommend this property. Thank you Bill and Sally. You were gracious hosts.
Good but could be better.
The house was very comfortable, extremely clean, beds were great, yard good, location terrific. But we felt as if the owner was very parsimonious. Each bathroom had one tiny bar of soap and one bottle of liquid soap. We ran out of the bar soap in a couple of days. There was no back up toilet paper either. It is unreasonable to expect guests to buy soap and toilet paper. Things were worse in the kitchen. No sponge, no tea kettle, salt and pepper and a few other condiments which looks like what other people left but no sugar. Those are the basics. I should not have to buy sugar for my tea and coffee. And there is a VCR and DVD player but they are not hooked up. With the owner's help, I managed to find out how to access them with the remote but they were not hooked up. They should be removed or made functional. Very frustrating. Again -- very clean and comfortable, but some essentials missing which made us feel not very well taken care of.
We provide a starter supply of soap, shampoo, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent and paper products. The amount provided is generally adequate for a weekend stay. Guests are required to replace these items for their own use if needed for a longer stay. We have debated our policy regarding providing food items. We feel that due to food safety concerns, the majority of our guests prefer that food items that were available for or used by previous guests not be left in the kitchen when they arrive. The kitchen is well equipped with cookware, tableware, cooking utensils and cleaning utensils. We will add a sponge and tea kettle as suggested by our guest. The house has high speed cable and wifi. The TV is set up for cable when guests arrive. A DVD and VCR are available for guests to use but it does require replacing the cable from the cable box with the DVD player cable. It also requires changing the input/source setting on the TV with the remote. This is a simple process and we were able to walk our guest through this process over the phone.
