Security Issue

Arrived Sunday evening. After a walk over to the beach we discovered upon our return the unit was not secured. We reached out to Roxanne. She was great. Although it was afterhours, she still came out. It waa discovered the electronic lock was broken. I am requesting a partial one day refund due to the safety/security issue my family faced while being in an unlockable unit overnight.

Property in poor condition for the amount of money paid, not worth it. Beach access very limited and far. Most of the beach area was private for the front row hotels. You had to go set up further to the right. The area lacked any type of dining or activities, you had to drive everywhere.

We loved this!

I read other reviews about the codes not working, but all of our codes worked and we loved not having to carry keys around. The views of the harbor and the Gulf were amazing! This place is way more spacious than the pictures even show, and just a short walk to the beach. When we wanted to set up our umbrella and chairs, we did have to walk a ways down the beach to get to a public area, but when we went during the evening it was no problem and we just took towels and toys for our kids and sat right where the beach access is. There were single and double red flags our whole trip so we enjoyed the pool, it was never busy! We have a 2 year old and there is a little pool that is only 10 inches deep and it was perfect for her. They were doing painting on both buildings but it caused no disturbances. Actually, the whole place is very quiet and the people we did meet were super friendly. Pretty centrally located, about 10-15 minutes from everything not including traffic. We were only 4 minutes from Target so we easily picked up stuff we needed. It’s close to the elevator so we didn’t have to walk far with tired kiddos. Really, this place was perfect and we loved being here! The only thing that was even just a little bit wrong was that we were told we needed to bring our own coffee and filters, which we did, but there’s a Kuerig. We just ran to the store and got some K-cups so it wasn’t an issue. Our 6 year old loved the balcony and seeing the boats. Super clean as well!

I sent several messages to the host never heard anything back

I sent two or three messages on the VRBO weeks before our trip on the website to the host never heard anything back. Texted and called host before and during still nothing no call or text back. The access codes to the side walk was wrong. The access code to the gate to get onto the beach was wrong. It was me my wife and 3 kids so you can imagine the frustration. I have two toddler so there I am loaded down with stuff to go to the beach and can't get onto the beach. Thankfully another person on vacation came along after standing there for a while and was nice enough to let us in. Then had to have wait for someone to let us out when when went to leave the beach.

Spring break in Flordia

We wanted to share our experience with VRBO and the owner of the property to ultimately improve other customers experiences. However, the issues started with the management company and what was promised regarding logistics and check in. The company promised that we would be contacted a week prior to our arrival with codes for the door and other common arrival information. This did not happen, and we had to contact the management company for codes for the gates and doors. This is not the service I would expect when required to pay full stay up front with no refund policy. Upon arrival we encountered further issues including not being able to locate property amenities such as the gym, beach access directions/codes and description of the property. There were no onsite services to provide this information and we had to rely on property owners we bumped into to provide these insights. In addition, the house was very poorly appointed and lacked sufficient towels, wash cloths, garbage bags, blankets, beach accessories and had very poor cookware. The most concerning was the issues we encountered during the stay which presented very serious safety concerns. Fans and electronics did not work and many of the switches in the house were delayed in turning on which is typically a sign of electrical/wiring problems. The second day of our stay we second day of our stay we encountered issues with the electronic lock on the house that did not work. We were forced to leave the property unlocked and all our personal items and property vulnerable to theft. Upon return that evening, we got locked into the house and could not get out. There were no spare keys and no one on site to help. We contacted the property manager and were told that she was over 45 minutes away. We were locked in the house for over 4 hours while working with the management company to troubleshoot issues that clearly they had dealt with before. Finally, a locksmith showed up to the property to cut the locks off to get us out after midnight. I had to help the locksmith for multiple hours to open the door and injured my hand as a result. Because of this situation and the issues with the house we lost an entire day and night of our vacation and were distressed about the risk this posed to our property and potentially our lives if there was an emergency. We expect safety and security at the properties we stay at and this clearly does not reflect well on VRBO or the property owner.

Condo was very roomy and had everything we needed. Great view from the balcony! The cleaning crew was making sure elevators and doors were sanitized. Great place to stay if you have a boat, the walk to get to the beach could be a little tough! Enjoyed our first beach trip to Destin!

A wonderful home away from home

This place exceeded all expectations. My family of 5 was more than comfortable in this home and everyone wanted to stay longer. The location is near tons of stores & restaurants. This is definitely a place my family will use annually for our summer vacation!

Great Place - Guy Named David Tows Cars

Really awesome property, can't say anything bad about the stay. Be sure to get the parking pass from the hallway though. There is not a front desk where you can get this. It is a gated community but one of the condo owners named David tows cars every morning.

First visit to Destin

The property was as expected. It was clean and comfortable. The appliances were nice. The washer and dryer were great. There was easy access to the beautiful beach. We never had a reason to talk to the property manager. We would recommend this property for your visit to Destin.

Great views of Destin Harbor and Gulf.

Very nice and spacious unit. Short walk to beach. Enjoyed watching large school of fish daily around boat docks below from spacious balcony.

Great - Just as described

Great place, large rooms, very comfortable, covered parking for one car, secure facility, great location away from the crowds, great views of both the ocean and the bay with lots of boats. Not much in the way of kitchen utensils but we did not come to cook. Regular and Keurig coffee makers, ice maker in frig. TVs were a bit confusing and we never got the channels we wanted but there were still lots of programs to see. We would definitely stay there again!
