Beach vacay

Beautiful property on gorgeous beach. Great for families with older children, room to spread out. Manager was very responsive to questions and workings in the house. It is located on a remote part of the island but the beauty and settings are exceptional.

Paradise

This house is incredible in all ways. Beautiful grounds, great views and access to the ocean. The house is perfect for our adult kids to spread out but has a separate large kitchen to prepare food and then a huge, oversized table to enjoy our evening dinners together. The bedrooms were great and set apart which allowed for privacy. The house was within easy walk of the Tropic of Cancer beach. We had a great time there renting jetskis and enjoying a gorgeous beach. Santana's was great for a takeout. The house manager, Kim, and her husband, Andrew, made an incredible dinner one night and were so fun to talk to. Kim was available to answer any questions. It was a bit of a ride to the area but well worth it as it was very quiet and private on Little Exuma. Overall, I would highly recommend. It was a wonderful trip.

Great Compound for Large Families

Great home and space for a big group. Our kids of all ages enjoyed themselves from the pool to the beach. Everything is spread out, but close enough for people to enjoy their space but also spend time together. Definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive or a car that’s solid off road. This is off the beaten path for sure. 10/10 would recommend!

Blue Seas as far as your Eyes can see!

Our family came and spent a week here. We truly enjoyed every minute of it. We spent the days kayaking and observing sea turtles and sting rays that swam right up! Kim was accommodating and made sure our stay was stress-free. Thanks again, and we are looking forward to returning soon.

A magical getaway

This property is truly special and one of a kind. It was perfect for our family, with tons of privacy when needed, and a variety of communal spaces. The beach and water was beyond stunning and pristine - it didn't seem real! Kim was amazing, cooking for us most nights (there's not a ton of things close by, so good to prepare food and chefs in advance). Overall a wonderful stay.

Our property manager Kim went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed during our stay. The concierge service, Kim specifically, is what made this booking exceptional. Every VRBO should have a Kim!

A week in paradise

This is the nicest place we have ever stayed! The pristine white sand beach, the incredible colors of the turquoise waters, and lush greenery are so calming. And the property is spectacular - beautifully furnished, with (I counted!) 15 separate seating areas outside! The owner and manager took great care of us and offered lots of helpful suggestions. A truly magical spot!

We has an fantastic stay in this villa. There were several members of our party who were turning 50 and this was an excellent place to celebrate. The property was beautiful with many beautiful places to sit and watch the magnificent ocean. The kitchen house was our common space and we enjoyed it immensely. Kim was an outstanding property manager who took such good care of us all week. We loved having the dogs on the property and it was difficult for us to say goodbye to them. I can not say enough what a fantastic place this was and the people of Exuma were helpful and friendly. I will definitely plan to make another trip there in the future.

SBV pure paradise

This is my second stay at Sugar Beach Villa. Having been here before I knew what pure paradise this place was but going back again just confirmed my first impressions of this beautiful villa. I took 4 other people that had never been to the Bahamas and they were in total awe. I wanted them to experience the island but they never wanted to leave SBV and I didn't blame them. It's a magnificent place that must be experienced. They all left with memories that will last a lifetime and I will be back. Thank you Liz :) Everyone made our stay so incredibly enjoyable!!

White sand and clear blue water!

This was perfect for our group. Plenty of room for us to be together in the main house for time together but plenty of room for us to spread out and have our own downtime as well. The water and beach were perfect! The older kids and adults spent plenty of time in the water swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling nearby. The water was gentle enough for us to wade in with a 7-month-old and the 6-year-old loved splashing in the waves. Kim cooked us several fabulous meals! Even some of my picky eaters were raving about the food. I highly recommend the lobster and BBQ ribs and chicken. If we needed anything during our stay, she took care of it. Lucky , the property dog, was everyone's favorite.

Sugar Beach Villa - Perfect!

Sugar beach Villa was the perfect place to stay for our group of 4 families! With access to the blue waters just steps away for morning and evening swims, snorkeling or kayaking it was perfect to keep adults and kids alike entertained! The accommodation was second to none and we were able to spend our evenings having cocktails on the balcony watching sunsets and cooking for our group! Linton and Ms. Glo were exceptional in providing all assistance and any information. Once we figured out the Exuma’s market in Georgetown and got our supplies we were all set! Fully recommend a boat trip to visit the Thunderball Grotto, swimming with pigs and Sharks, Iguana island and turtle feeding! All wonderful experiences. Being at SBV allowed us to disconnect from the world but had wifi if needed! Cannot say enough about Liz, Ms. Glo, and their constant contact and also for Exuma’s natural beauty and the pristine waters of the Caribbean!

Anniversary Getaway

We booked Sugar Beach Villa as an anniversary trip with some friends. While the house is located in a remote area on Little Exuma, it is worth the time it takes to get there. The solitude, the views, the property are all gorgeous! The way the home is spread out, all 3 couples had the privacy you would want for a trip like this. Also, Kim was amazing! Kim is basically who keeps this house running smoothly and can and will get you anything you need and want during your visit. We planned to have her cook 3 meals for us while there, but we loved her food so much that we added lunch and pina coladas one day. I am gluten free, and she went above and beyond to make sure I had amazing meals even when cooking items I couldn’t eat for the rest of the group. Hire Kim to cook all your meals and don’t leave the gorgeous property. You won’t regret it! Everything about our trip was wonderful! I highly recommend Sugar Beach Villa!

Tropical Paradise

We enjoyed renting Sugar Beach Villa for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Large enough property to give each family adequate space. We loved eating delicious meals prepared by Kim in the separate dining room. Kim went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Our particular week had unusual rain which means the mosquitos were bad. Kim talked to the owner Liz and had the property sprayed for us which was very helpful. The local beaches in Little Exuma are some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen! All of the recommendations from Liz and Kim were great. Highly recommend Blu for lunch and/or dinner and Santana’s, Dexter for Bone Fishing and AJ for boating around the island. We hope to be back real soon!!

Christmas on Exuma

Wonderful location and estate for 3 generation , 11 people sun sea and sand Christmas. The Sugar Beach Villa was exactly as described in the information provided. Lots of space to hang out together or find a quiet place in the breeze and sun to relax and read. The large stand alone “chat and chill” kitchen was perfect for the family team cooking for dinners and walk- in “brunch” spot for breakfast early and late risers. The large pool was wonderful for the younger children’s fun time when they had tired of the beach and waves, adventuring through the extensive trails and pathways to the beach. The older ones took to kayaking and paddle board adventures to the coral reef, islands and Tropic of Cancer beach.Thank you Kim and Alex for being “Chefs” for two wonderful dinners !Getting around the island was easier than expected and shopping for supplies was not too difficult, we ordered the first batch on line at The Exuma market and it was delivered waiting for us when we arrived. For the rest we visited the stores and Prime meat as we explored some of the island.The Sugar beach Villa was a great location, easy walk to tropic of cancer beach, few minutes drive to Mum’s bakery for bread and rum cake.

Exuma Beach Paradise

We stayed at Sugar Beach Villa last week, and this place is seemingly dropped from the heavens onto a tropical beachfront paradise. A family compound of sorts - 5 structures on several acres of beachfront property on Little Exuma. We had 11 in our party and this was the perfect spot for our family reunion. Wooden bridges meander through the property connecting all off the houses, and sandy pathways guide you through the Bahamian jungle to two beachfront pergolas, with stairways down to your own private beach - 300 feet of it! This rental comes with everything, and ensuring this is a property manager/concierge just off-site named Kim. She was incredibly attentive and helpful. Available 24x7 on WhatsApp, she responded to any request or issue within seconds. Like having 5-star resort service with your own private rental. She set this place apart from other rentals we’ve stayed in. Staying at Sugar Beach was a unique and unforgettable experience.

A perfect week!

My husband and I were sitting in a bar in Key West when we booked SBV. We were looking for a destination for our kids’ fall break. We never expected the beautiful experience that we were about to embark on at SBV! From the time we booked, there was consistent communication and assistance with anything we needed along the way. Someone was always available! SBV is an expansive beachfront property with immaculate amenities. The online photos don’t do it justice. The owner puts great thought and her own personal touch into the design and decor. The property manager helped us get with so many things and also was the most fabulous cook (along with her aunt) for our family. We rented the boat, used the kayaks, basked in the sun at the beach and the pool. SBV offered the ultimate relaxing experience. It is absolutely beautiful and the people that surround it create the most unimaginable experience! We left SBV with memories we will always cherish and new friends that we hope will continue to be a part of our lives forever!

Sugar Beach Villa - Exuma Vacation

We had a fantastic stay at Sugar Beach Villa for our Exuma Bahamas vacation. We had two families (9 total people) including 4 parents (early 50's) and 5 college age (18-21) young adults. SBV was perfect for our situation - allowing enough room for everyone to have their privacy. The location right on our own private beach was amazing and the views are spectacular. The kids used the kayaks everyday to go out into the ocean. WiFi service in the house very good. It was nice to be able to our own laundry on the premises. Our housekeeper, Kim, was wonderful and was extremely responsive to any minor maintenance issues we had at the property. Kim even gave us a ride to the marina (20+ minute drive each way) when our rental car wouldn't start and we had a full-day boat charter leaving at 8am. My only complaint is the driveway (a 1 mile long dirt road) is quite rough terrain with large potholes which was difficult for our sedan rental car. Overall, we had a wonderful vacation stay at Sugar Beach Villa and would highly recommend for anyone considering it. Swartz & Boswell Families

Exuma Sugar Beach Villa

Mixed feelings about stay.The cottage building smelled of smoke and was uninhabitable for several guests. Later found an empty cigarette pack nearby. Water was not available twice during the stay for a total of about 16 hours, first due to faulty pump equipment, then due to a toilet flapper (connected via a thin string) left in open position. I learned later that a similar event happened to another guest, confirming that the owner knew of this and did not repair the pump. Several things did not work: a garbage disposal, ceiling fan, and a dishwasher, for example. Kayaks were on site with insufficient number of paddles and no life vests. The site advertised an outdoor gym on premises which was a lie: no gym existed. In general, the property is in the early stages of disrepair and has not had sufficient maintenance and attention. With all these issues, there was no offer from the owner to refund money (I didn't ask, but a refund of perhaps a day's rental should have been offered).Conversely, the owner was very timely to my complaints of no water and took quick actions to rectify including providing a water truck to refill the tank and bringing bottled water. The location of the property was magnificent. Finally, two people "came with" the property: Kim and Alex who were beyond attentive and helpful.In sum, the villa was worth about 2/3 of the actual cost. I wouldn't return. Radical Bahamian Beauty

Sugar Beach Villa was nothing short of spectacular! In lieu of describing the beauty of this extravagant villa, I must convey that which pictures cannot. The conscientious concern of Liz & Rachel during the pre-visit communications was unrivaled. However, the most pleasant of surprises was Ms. Kim. Upon arrival we acknowledged her as the caretaker of the property, but very quickly came to the realization that she was destined to be our personal caregiver for the remainder of the week. Not only is she a kind soul with a servants heart, but also magical in creating all things including memories. During the entirety of our stay Ms. Kim progressed from caregiver to ambassador and finally to a cherished friend. Although we dined at three great restaurants nearby the Villa (Tropical Breeze, Blu & Santanas), our best meals were prepared with love by Ms. Kim and her husband Anthony. The service did not end there, it was very apparent that Ms Kim’s positive passion influences all whom come in contact with her. Denise does a wonderful job of keeping the place in order, and the two boat captains and mate (Jeremy, EJ & Gino), all demonstrated the same caring qualities. A boat excursion on the private Sugar Beach Villa 35’ Everglades provided us with two of our favorite days of the visit. Please do not forsake this extravagant and affordable privilege. Two notes; The potholes are a minor inconvenience. During our stay we did not encounter any mosquitoes, noseeums, flies or sugar ants.

Absolutely stunning!

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and wow. This place is as incredible as the photos show! The place is huge and can hold all kinds of family and friends if you make it a large gathering. We got conch fritters from Club Arawak and they were INSANELY good! It was right down the road. The only downside is the roads that are filled with basically craters. But that didn’t keep us from booking the place as we knew before hand! We booked our own car through Exuma Connect and it was a breeze. They met us at the airport. Make sure you stop and get everything you need from the grocery store beforehand cause that is not an easy trip for butter forgotten! We enjoyed the complete privacy at the pool and the hot tub was so hot and perfect! There’s a large speaker in the main house that sounds SO good and gets so loud to enjoy being by the pool or ocean. Our main goal was to just spend time with each other and enjoy the intimacy of each other and the ocean and this house did not disappoint at all. We found a gorgeous stone in the ocean that I plan on making into a bolo tie that my husband and I can share between us to always remember what an amazing trip this was. The last day we realized scorpions were around and saw a baby one so make sure you wear shoes on your walk too and from the beach Kim was helpful for any questions we had! The sheets and bed were so soft too 20/10. Will never forget this stunning place or memories made there

Looks exactly like the pictures!

I booked this property for myself and a group of 8 friends. The house was amazing! The staff does everything possible to help out with anything you could possibly need. I absolutely LOVED the house. The only downer for this trip was we had some cash that came up missing our second day at the house. I left $180 on the kitchen counter our first night in the house knowing that we needed to pay for some food/drink items that we had the house pre-stocked with. The majority of the house went on a tour and were gone the entire second day. During that time housekeeping came by and cleaned and we had some more food dropped off at the house by house staff. The housekeeper saw the cash when she cleaned up that morning and left it on the kitchen counter. The staff also said he saw the money when he dropped off groceries that afternoon. I honestly don’t think either members of the house staff took them money, but there were 2 men with the house staff when the groceries were delivered. We have no idea who those guys were. All I know is by the time we all got home (about an hr or 2 after the food was delivered) the money had grown legs and walked away. As hard as I tried to make sure the housekeeper knew that we were not accusing her of taking the money, she absolutely thought we were accusing her and therefore wasn’t the most polite for the remainder of our stay. Aside of the missing cash, we loved the house. I would totally stay here again, I just wouldn’t leave any money laying around.

Pure Paradise

I could write a book about SBV. This was my third time at this paradise wonderland. For everyone else it was their first stay. They were blown away at how incredible this villa was and all it had to offer. First off, the 360 views are incredible. No matter how much I tried to tell them about this place, it couldn't compare to them experiencing such an amazing piece of paradise. The pool and jacuzzi was an added bonus. And I can not forget Dusty (the dog) such a wonderful addition. Kim went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were taken care of and did an outstanding job on catering my niece's birthday dinner. She said it was the best birthday ever. And I must add that the beds were absolutely the best in comfort. My niece and I watched the morning sunrises with our coffee each morning. And they are a thing of beauty. The weather was perfect and swimming and snorkeling was great. If you are looking for beauty, peace and tranquility you will not go wrong with SBV. Liz, you have an incredible piece of paradise. Thank you for sharing it.

Magnificent views

We had a wonderful week with perfect weather. The views are incredible and the accommodations are perfectly laid out. We took some boat tours and drove to town a couple of times. But, there really was no need to go anywhere… relaxing at the house was wonderful.

I have owned this property for 24 years and manage it with my sister Rachel. I absolutely love it and discovered it because it is known for it beautiful beaches, water and fly fishing. Little Exuma has some of the best fly fishing in the world to catch bonefish. The private beaches are breath taking and the area is spectacular. So few places left in the world with untouched beaches and crystal clear water. I did my best to build Sugar Beach Villa in the palm trees to preserve the nature that is unique to the island.

I designed this home and hand picked each fabric, color, pillow etc. I look to combine nature, views and breeze while highlighting the exciting colors that the sea holds. This is one of the highest points in the area so its views and Bahamian Colonial style gives way to class and elegance while affording you the easy island relaxed living. You will melt into this property that was designed for families or just a romantic getaway.
