About Villas Crete Holidays
Villa Nostalgia is exclusively booked by Villas Crete Holidays which is a registered Tourist Office, based in Hampshire, England, with a resort representative and resort administrator in Almyrida, Crete. Whilst most travel companies cover many different countries and/or areas of Greece and Crete, we at Villas Crete Holidays only work in the North West of Crete and we specialise in the Apokoranas region, just east of the historic Venetian town of Chania. The Apokoronas (including the villages of Almyrida, Kalives, Kokkino Horio, Plaka and Gavalohori) has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort area that has many amenities, but is far removed from brash tourism. The area is renowned for its sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, stunning views of Souda Bay and The White Mountains, excellent tavernas, and archaeological sites. The director of Villas Crete Holidays is Frankie Miles. She has worked with rental villas on Crete for more than 20 years and has written the best selling guide book "Crete on the Road". The book includes detailed directions and information to all the major tourist attractions, as well as many hidden sites. Also in the book is the only existing map of the National Highway showing all of the entrances/exits and distances. Frankie’s unrivalled knowledge, love of the island, and attention to detail is now being fully put to use to guarantee a fantastic holiday for our guests.
Why Villas Crete Holidays chose Apokoronos
Villa Nostalgia is a good value property with fantastic views and a great location only 900m from the excellent tavernas and well stocked mini markets in Plaka. With a walk to the amenities you can go to the shops at any time, and you can go to have a delicious meal and a drink (or two) on the village square without worrying about driving home. Plaka is such a safe and family friendly village, that parents can relax at Villa Nostalgia knowing that their teenagers and older children can go into the village on their own without a problem. For travellers who are on a budget but they want views and all modern amenities, Villa Nostalgia is ideal.
What makes this Villa unique
Villas Crete Holidays truly are the Apokoronas Specialists as unlike other offices, 3 of the 4 members of our expert team live and work here all year round which enables us to always have completely up-to-date information about the villas, local facilities, and tourist attractions. We can help you with all aspects of your holiday including good value, reliable car hire, airport transfers, local information about shops, beaches, tavernas etc, detailed driving directions or walking directions for many routes. We can also arrange private boat hire, private boat trips, private sight-seeing flights, horse riding, water-skiing, big game fishing, guided walking, and guided coach excursions. Our office staff speak English, Greek, and a little French, and have a vast list of local contacts, and our representative in resort also speaks some Italian. Both the company itself, and Frankie's book have been featured and recommended in articles in major British newspapers including the Sunday Mail and the Sunday Telegraph, as well as smaller publications such as Greece Magazine. Most importantly, because we handle many villas, in the unlikely event that there is an unforeseen problem at your villa, we can usually offer you an alternative villa (although this cannot be guaranteed in high season). We have many years experience working in tourism on Crete, and most importantly this experience is specifically related to villa rentals, which needs a very different area of expertise to other types of tourism such as walking holidays, or package holidays for the masses. We use all of our knowledge and local contacts to ensure that your holiday goes off smoothly from start to finish, from first booking the villa that is most suitable for you, to your arrival back home. When you are in resort, we are available during office hours for information, and 24 hours a day should you need medical assistance, yet we remain unobtrusive.

Villa Nostalgia Plaka Crete
The villa was a lovely size with plenty of crockery etc and very clean. One day we went out leaving our breakfast dishes in the sink and Maria came and washed up even though she didn't need to. Outside area very well set out round the pool. Walk to Plaka for the restaurants was quite easy but need a torch coming back.
belle villa mais 2 salles de bain au lieu de 3 et 2 chambres tres petites

merci de nous contacter
I am sorry that you found it uncomfortable with 2 bathrooms at Villa Nostalgia. Unfortunately you did not read the HomeAway/Arbitel listing correctly, because if you did you would see that there are 2 bathrooms in the house itself, and 1 shower by the pool. It does not say that there are 3 bathrooms inside the villa. We always want our guests to have a fantastic holiday at our villas and we do write a full description and supply many photos. It is a shame that not all of our guests read things in full. I do hope that you, at least enjoyed the fantastic views and the beautiful surrounding area. Best wishes, Frankie at Villas Crete Holidays.
The main square in Plaka is only 1.1km from The Villa Nostalgia and is still very much the focal point of village life. There are lovely shady mulberry trees under which the locals sit to watch the world go by whilst enjoying a delicious meal or even just an ice cold frappe. Plaka was one of the original village sets for the film “Zorba the Greek” and it still has quaint whitewashed houses and narrow streets leading off from the square. The modern outskirts of the village have expanded recently as have the facilities, which now include 7 tavernas, an excellent Italian restaurant, 3 well stocked mini markets, a hairdressers and 6 cafes. The lovely village of Almyrida is only 2km from Villa Nostalgia, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 11 excellent tavernas, a pizzeria/pasta restaurant, 6 cafés, 2 bars, 2 bakeries, 1 jewellery shop, 4 mini-markets, 7 gift shops, 2 ice cream shops, a butchers shop, a fabulous fruit and vegetable shop with a deli counter, a pharmacy, an off-licence/liquour store, 3 real estate offices, a nail spa, and body wellness spa, and a hairdressers. Also in Almyrida there is an arcade/shop with pool tables and games machines, a scuba diving office, pedalo and paddle board rentals, a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, and Villas Crete Holidays for tourist information, private boat rental, boat trips, horse riding, big game fishing, water skiing, private sightseeing flights in a light aircraft, and guided walking tours and coach excursions. A few minutes by car from the villa, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, and lace makers in Gavalohori.
For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 35 minutes away by car. With its stunning Venetian harbour, quayside bars and restaurants, what better place to relax and watch the world go by. In the narrow streets behind the harbour you will find tavernas, bars, the famous covered market, and many local shops selling handicrafts, textiles, jewellery and hand made ceramics.

Crete has everything you that could possibly want from a holiday: soaring mountains that are snow capped from November to June, many great walking trails including Europe's deepest gorge, ancient archaeological sites and Minoan palaces, quaint villages, sparkling clear blue seas with tavernas serving freshly caught fish, golden beaches, glorious wild flowers in the Spring, and a variety of delicious foods which are all made from healthy home grown produce.
As incredible as the island is, it is the Cretan people who will make your holiday truly memorable. Descendants of the Minoan's, one of Europe's earliest civilizations, and shaped by centuries of struggle against oppression, the Cretans are as rugged as the mountains, fiercely independent but passionately friendly.

The climate of Crete is a temperate Mediterranean climate and the weather is characterized by long hot, dry summers and mild winters. The Spring can be warm and sunny during the day but still have cooler evenings and is perfect for walking, birdwatching and looking at the wild flowers. All in all Crete is absolutely perfect for your Villa holiday
