After some minor challenges in the beginning (which almost made me rate it as a 4), we truly enjoyed the townhome and the space it provided for us after a week of traveling from place to place. We arrived just after 4:00 to check in after a 5 hr drive, and the cleaning crew was still there. We were all tired from being in the car but went to the grocery store & when we came back, we were able to check in- just after 4:30, so not too late. It was a very hot week in winter park and we didn’t realize there wasn’t AC (which would have been great given it was 80 degrees inside and stuffy). It smelled stuffy too which initially was disappointing but once we opened all the windows, turned on the fans, and the sun set, we were able to cool off. Not surprisingly given the heat, the comforter duvet cover on the master bed smelled like body odor, so we washed it, & then things went smoother. Lastly, the bulk of the towels were still in the dryer on the bottom floor. But at least they were clean & almost dry!
After all that, our initial impression that was kind of a bummer for what we had experienced at other places and a long drive, but once we settled in and the place had aired out (& we left the windows open and fans going due to the heat that week), we all slept comfortably, enjoyed the smart TV where we could log into our own prime & Netflix accounts to watch anything we wanted after a busy day of biking & hiking. The townhome is just across the street from winter park, so you can walk over if needed/desired. The porch was perfect for breakfast and drinks before dinner. There wasn’t a fire pit, but it was so warm- we didn’t care as we were warm enough. We had plenty of room to space out when needed too given 2 teens and a 2 week family trip. In the end, it truly was a 5 star experience as we stayed there 5 nights and felt right at home, and could easily forget and overlook the bumpy start. Would definitely recommend and stay again- (preferably though when it’s not as hot outside given no AC and coming home hot & sweaty from hiking & biking).
