About the property

Mountain And River View Private Yurt Accommodations Nestled In The Forest

On the property are three individual yurts in a remote mountain setting with a main building that houses the common art studio/living area, and fully stocked kitchen. The private bathroom/shower for each yurt is in this main building. We're on 20 acres on a ridge overlooking a river valley with a mountain range at each end and miles of Forest Property behind. Quiet, serene, peaceful, star studded sky, rejuvenate, surrounded by nature outside and beautiful art inside. Hike, paint, rest, eat, relax.

This listing is for the Orange yurt with 3 beds (1 double bed, and 1 twin over twin bunk bed) plus a love seat. 4 guests max. Our other two VRBO/Homeaway listings are for the Purple, and Green yurts with 2 beds (1 double & 1 single, plus a love seat) both are for 3 persons max.

Your private space is your yurt, and one full bathroom in the main building. All guests have shared access to the common room, the fully stocked kitchen, and the property.

See our other listings on VRBO for the Purple and Green Yurts furnished with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, and a love seat. 3 persons maximum occupancy.

The Orange yurt has its own cast-iron propane heater/fireplace and has electricity. The main building has heat and air conditioning, and plenty of light for reading or socializing. There is a propane BBQ outside on the deck. The large main room doubles as an art studio for the resident artist and she offers many art supplies for guests to paint acrylic in plein air or watercolor at the studio table. The space is clean, modern and has all the amenities for a comfortable stay as we have retreats here all year. Also, there is a fire pit with plenty of wood, an amphitheater with a large stage for yoga and other activities, along with benches and trails around the property. The energy is divine!

Why Julie Hutslar & Ed Hunt chose Sandpoint

This property is close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to be perfectly quiet, serene, and surrounded by nature. We overlook the Pack River, and are bordered by national forest.

You can hike for hours and never see another person, but may well encounter deer, moose, or see soaring eagles.

What makes this cabin unique

We are close enough to enjoy what the town of Sandpoint has to offer, but far enough to feel as if you are in the middle of the Alaskan wilderness.

Best yurts in the pnw

  • 5 of 5

Julie and Ed are gracious and unobtrusive hosts. Their property is the definition of well maintained and well situated. The main house is close enough to the yurts to be convenient, not so close to feel cramped. The kitchen has all the cooking equipment you'd need, in addition to a large propane grill on the deck! The fire pit is also well stocked and designed, making for a great place to enjoy the evening. Our party of four adults fit comfortably in the orange yacht and all were impressed with the quality of the beds!

Our only complaint was that our stay was too short! Hands down the best VRBO I've stayed at so far. Thanks, Julie and Ed!

The Spiritual Retreat Center is a beautiful, nature filled experience. If you are looking for solitude, peace and quiet and calmness, this is the place for you. There are spectacular views of the mountains, sunrises, sunsets. If you want hiking there are many around. There are 3 yurts so it makes a great opportunity for a girls weekend or couples weekend. Or if you just need to get away from it all for a few days. There is a beautiful group room, bathroom and kitchen filled with everything you would need for a getaway!

I have stayed at the Spiritual Retreat Center many times and each time I have left feeling refreshed ready to again face life. I recommend this property for adventure seekers as there are multiple hiking trails, breathtaking views, and the gift of fresh air. If one is looking for a place for a girls getaway, family getaways, or a couples getaway, this property fulfills all expectations. There is a main lodge that provides modern bathrooms, full kitchen and a large yet cozy meeting area. I highly recommend this property for a person who is looking for an emotionally enhanced and fulfilled vacation.

Beautiful and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time exploring the property and meeting Ed and the family dog Mocha. The facilities were extremely clean and provided any sort of gadget you could need. We went grocery shopping in town and cooked in the kitchen. When we arrived, Ed had left us a nice note with instructions, a lantern, and a couple of flashlights.

It was beautiful and we will definitely be back to ring the free your mind bell again!

Thanks Ed and Julie!
