Why Jason and Andrea Soldini chose Spring Hill
In 2010, the family went on it's first Nature Coast adventure, tubing on the Ichetucknee River and scalloping in Steinhatchee. What a blast! In subsequent summers, the family explored Crystal River, Suwanee River, Homosassa Springs and finally Weeki Wachee Springs / Hernando Beach. Weeki Wachee was by far the favorite with its natural surroundlings, waterfront location, proximity to the river, gulf attractions, restaurants and shops. They returned the next year to the same vacation rental home. Since the previous years stay, a lot of thought had been given to purchasing a similar property in Weeki Wachee. Well, lo and behold...upon arrival the property across the canal was for sale and cried out for glorification!

The place was clean and location was great. Screen porch perfect. Owner was fast to respond to questions and friendly. Dock was easy entry and exit with kayaks.
Simple and serene!
We loved our stay at Mermaid Cove! We enjoy the simple things in life and this was perfect. Plenty of room for our family of 5 and our yellow lab. Just a few paddles away from the river. If you are looking for a great family getaway this is highly recommended!
Great price and great location.
We loved our stay! Weeki Wachee is now one of our favorite places! Loved the kayaking and even got to see manatees on more that one occasion! The rental price was great and it was clean and spacious.
Decent "Old Florida" place
We only stayed two nights, but we did enjoy the experience. Didn't realize that the place was an old mobile home in a quiet neighborhood on the canal. Sitting on the dock, we were able to see a great variety of birds (it is a nature conservancy area). Attended the annual Swamp Fest in Weekee Wachee, which was fun. In all, a relaxing time. Place was clean, had everything we needed as far as towels, linen, etc. Would probably go again!
Nice place for the price
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend. We love the area. We have stayed at other rentals on the main river, so being on a canal was a bummer. But the place is nice and pretty clean for being an older mobile home. We did enjoy our stay here it was peaceful and quiet most of the time. Our only complaint would be that it's too close to the intersection on the road and the cars going by make it hard to get a good night sleep.
Overall it's a nice place but we probably will look to the riverfront rentals in the future.
Not what we expected.
The pictures don't reflect the age of the trailer. This is a very old trailer with a fresh coat of paint. It smelled musty, the carpet was sticky, and the furniture tired. We were disappointed when we arrived. On a positive note, we enjoyed kayaking. We had to paddle a ways to get there, but enjoyed the clear river, seeing fish, and fighting the current. We did not see manatees as they "left for the gulf three days ago". We also enjoyed the screened porch, WiFi, Roku, comfortable bed. The owners were very responsive when we had issues with the entry code and WiFi password.
