There is plenty to do in the area. With just a short hop over the bridge into the City of Palatka, you can enjoy the Palatka Golf Club-designed by Donald Ross and established in 1925, launch your boat at the brand new city marina, take a stroll around the Ravine Gardens State Park, or enjoy shopping in the historic downtown Palatka area while trying to view as many of the unique murals painted on the buildings as you can find. There are several unique dining options available as well. Or if you prefer, it is a short ride to Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando or the oldest city in the US--St Augustine.
Bring your camera and binoculars to catch sight of the various types of wildlife that come by the property. It is common to see alligators, hawks, turtles, manatees, bats and a wide variety of water fowl that inhabit the area.
Bring your boat and fishing tackle -- Putnam County is the premier Large-mouth Bass fishing spot in Florida. With either a scenic boat ride to Lake George (the 2nd largest fresh water lake in the state), you could be fishing for tonight's dinner or take a short ride over to Crescent Lake and enjoy the absolute BEST Bloody Mary's anywhere at the 3 Bananas Restaurant. There is no shortage of fun things to do here, so book your stay now.
**NOTE: During our recent brush with Hurricane Matthew, our dock was removed. We have rebuilt the dock platform and will continue the remodeling in the near future to include a boat house and three boat lifts, electricity and running water.

About Linda Bosque
My husband and I have owned property in the Palatka area for the last 10 years. We recently acquired this house on the St. Johns River and totally fell in love with it. We have recently retired; my husband was with the Fire Department and I was a Police Communications Supervisor here in South Florida. We have served our community for many years and loved the work that we did. While we still have ties to our South Florida home, we cannot help being drawn to the quiet and friendly Northeast Florida culture that we found here in Palatka where just walking down the street, total strangers wave and say hi as they pass you by. It is a total departure from the hustle and bustle of Miami. We are so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to experience all the varied lifestyles that Florida has to offer.

Why Linda Bosque chose East Palatka
It is always amazing how different the view is from the panoramic windows of this beautiful home. One day you are looking out across the waterway at a lightning storm and the next, the skies are crystal clear blue, sometimes during the space of a few hours. It is the most beautiful and awesome sight and we would like to share I with you. They call it "God's Country" here and it is so true. We have always loved the water... sailing, power boats, fishing, shrimping, diving, swimming and snorkeling; so it is no wonder that this place is such a perfect fit for us. Also, we love the distinct change of seasons that you get here in Northern Florida (mind you, without all the snow). It allows us to use the fireplace once in a while, and really enjoy that afternoon 2.5 mile roundtrip walk/jog over the bridge spanning the St. Johns River. It is breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful here. The varied wildlife is amazing and a joy to watch.

Amazing, beautiful home.
Words can't" explain what a wonderful home this is. Too beautiful to be rented as vacation home. Everything you will need is waiting as soon as you arrive, not the ordinary home you'd
except as rental property. Would recommend this property to all my friends.
Linda is amazing, so wonderful to talk to and accommodating.
If your"re planning trip to East Palatka, Florida, don"t look any further, this is it.
Thanks Linda for everything.
Very Enjoyable Stay
Linda was great all the way through the check-in process briefing us with any questions we might have had... The house & the property were second to none... If you have the chance to stay there, please notice the carved out tree of Eagles, Sea Birds, Cranes & an old fisherman... Truly unforgettable...
Perfect Vacation Stop
Nicely equipped, riverfront location that is well stocked with toiletries and everything to meet your needs. The kitchen equipment includes a water cooler that dispenses hot water for k-cup beverages and also dispenses cold drinking water.
Awesome house and setting
Perfect. Everything was top notch. Nothing was overlooked. Highly recommended.
So glad you were pleased with the house. Thank you for your review!
Great house, great view! Everything was perfect!!
Great house, great view! Everything was perfect!!
A lovely villa which is furnished to a high standard and is exceptionally well equipped
Communication from the owners was good.
The only thing missing is an electric kettle which UK travellers will expect.
The villa is in a superb location and offers a great panoramic view across the river from both the lounge and the terrace. Our only disappointment was the fact that when the wind is blowing from the south or west, the traffic noise from the nearby road is very intrusive. It can make sitting outside rather unpleasant and can even be heard from inside the building, despite the effective double glazing. When blowing from other directions, the noise is far less intrusive and fairly acceptable
With the loss of our huge oak tree (now a sculpture) and a few other smaller trees from Hurricane Matthew last Oct, it has affected the noise level. We are sure the remaining smaller oak tree will take this opportunity to expand and grow over the summer now that it isn't overshadowed by it's bigger "brother". The foliage thinned by the hurricane and the usual winter time seasonal effect should be a temporary condition and I look forward to it improving over time as an effective sound barrier again. I will have to check the fireplace to make sure the chimney flue is closed, as the wind noise is not usually an issue inside the house unless it was left open after being used. Thank you for your review and useful comments!
