Perfect Family Vacation
This was our first family vacation and the stay was wonderful. The condo was clean and ready for us to quickly call it home for the week. I thought it would be a lot busier being Springbreak week but it wasn't overly crowded in the building. The view is amazing from the balcony!!!!!!!!!!
Clean and well maintained
We had a great stay, first time we have rented a condo and we much preferred it over our usual hotel stay, would do it again!
Nice clean condo. Plenty of places to eat & sightsee. Wonderful beach!
Exactly what we were looking for!
We had a great experience at the Phoenix 5. We stayed in condo 707. Great location right off the elevator, the condo was very clean, and for the most part friendly to our 1 year old. We loved all the windows with the gulf view and the balcony was a good size. The splash pad was a hit with our little boy! We had to stop and play each time we went to the pool and beach. Ike's beach service was so convenient. We rented chairs for 2 days..... great for us because we didn't have to haul chairs and an umbrella along with everything else we had.
The only complaints I have are that the mattress was very uncomfortable and the unit would get hot when the AC would kick off.
Overall great stay in condo 707!
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay here. This was probably one of the cleanest and beautifully decorated condos that I have ever stayed in. It was perfect for my family. My two little ones (Age 5 and 2) LOVED the splash pad!! We couldn't get them away from it. :)
We saw dolphins almost every morning from the balcony!
Melissa went above and beyond for us when we had a check in issue. So responsive and considerate!! I definitely recommend this condo and will most likely book again. :)
Not impressed - expected better.
All in all, for the amount of money we paid, I expected better. I am not going to say our experience was all bad, because it wasn't, but I feel some things need to be pointed out. I'll start with the positives...The condo was a decent size for 4 people. The appliances are new and the washer/dryer were very nice. The bed/mattress was comfortable and the pull out couch was adequate. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed to cook. The view was very pretty and you are able to see dolphins almost every day. The pool was a good size and the splash pad was great for our 4 yr old. The beach and ocean were both beautiful and it was a very short walk. It was crowded, but we expected that with it being peak season.
The Phoenix V, in general though, is just run down. The facility just seemed dirty and old and literally smelled bad in some areas. The elevators were nasty with water & sand on the floor, they were small and hot and there's only 4 for a 15 story bldg which meant waiting in line to catch one. When we arrived at our room, by the looks of the front door, I literally thought we were at a Motel 6. But once inside, it was ok - average - the best part being the view. It could absolutely use some updating all around as the furniture is outdated & it has popcorn ceiling falling in some spots. (Again, just disappointed after spending so much and this is what we got.) The pictures on home away only showed one pic of the bathroom and now I know why. Terrible. Tiny. There's no lighting near the tub/shower so it was very dark trying to shower...There was barely any room in the shower to lay a bar of soap or to put out your shampoo/conditioner/razor etc. The popcorn ceiling was flaking off into the bathtub & on the floor one day (which I had to vacuum up) and the rug in front of the toilet looks like it's seen it's better days & needs to be pitched. The tub size is tiny and has chips in the fiberglass. Ugh. Oh and the exhaust fan does not work. As far as the kitchen, the appliances are new, but the cabinets/sink/countertop - all outdated. The kitchen table - from the 80s or 90s. The balcony furniture looks nothing like the pic on home away either - it's just as old & run down as the rest of it.
I hate to leave a negative review, but just feel I'm being honest. Next time, we will stay somewhere else for sure.
At the beginning of this year, the doors and all walkways were redone/painted along with the front desk area and the pool area. Phoenix 5 is not one of the newer buildings but they are working on keeping it well maintained. And, we have SO many happy renters who stay here year after year and love the splash pad and other amenities! The owners of this unit purchased it about a year and a half ago. They bought new aluminum (expensive rust proof) balcony furniture a year ago so I am confused by your comment (?). And, I took that balcony photo myself a few months ago and that is exactly how the furniture looks. They had a sofa bed reupholstered in the living room which looks great. They are planning to add new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and new counter tops when the summer rush is over. There is no electrical over the shower, therefore there is no chance to add light there. No one has every had an issue before. We wish we could satisfy everyone, but I guess that is impossible. The majority of our renters love this place, love the views and just enjoy the precious time spent with their family instead of complaining about little things!
