Waterfront With Direct Access To The Weeki Wachee River-Sleeps 8
Home is in quaint river community of about 6 or 7 streets all dead end at the water. Home has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 1 bedroom has a double bed, other bedroom has a queen bed, with a full size sofa bed, living room has a chair that converts to a twin bed, & a comfy couch, so it could sleep 8. The kitchen has everything you need including microwave, coffee maker, toaster, mixer, blender, crockpot, pots-n-pans, etcetera. A gas barbecue is located under the carport. Please turn the gas OFF after you use the grill. Tax is included in rate & rental comes with 1 canoe and 2 kayaks-you'll save a bundle not having to rent. The house is clean and comfortable and the porch with the water view is great but really you need to get out on the river and experience true Old Florida at it's finest.
We just put a new dock and seawall in and you can fish right off the dock-permit maybe required, check with local fishing authorities to be sure.
Go to the right on the canal to reach the Weeki Wachee River. Once you get out of the quaint neighborhood the trip to the river is totally peaceful and serene, tranquil Old Florida at its finest. At the mouth of the river, the water is super clear. Many canoes and kayaks stop here and go for a swim. The water is a constant 72 degrees coming up out of the springs. Go to the left-up the river towards the headsprings or to the right-down river towards the Gulf. Both directions offer beautiful scenery, where you will more than likely encounter a manatee. The Gulf of Mexico is about 8 miles...
Be sure to check out the river. If you aren't comfortable in the kayak and canoes, just go to the Upper Deck and sit by the river, or Rogers Park and go in the river at the beach, or Pine Island or Bayport Beaches. You can also go to Weeki Wachee Springs Park and go out on a pontoon boat and usually you will see the manatees there as well.
The house has a manual inside with all the details of the house and checking out procedures as well as local restaurants and maps etcetera. There is a lockbox on the door for guests to check themselves in and out. Code will be given to you closer to your arrival date.

My name is Susan and I also live in Weeki Wachee. I love the river and all it has to offer. I grew up in Detroit so originally I was a big city person. There is nothing better than sitting on my porch and looking at the reflective serene water with the mullet jumping 10 feet high, turtles swimming by. My canal is a mating/birthing canal for the manatees and we have a lot of activity in the winter and spring months. We have even had a pair of otters playing in our canal. I manage the property for the owner who is originally from Glendale, New York. He resides in St Petersburg and comes to the river house when it is not rented to guests. He enjoys fishing off the dock and going out on the river and stopping by the local parks to see what everyone out there is catching and what kind of bait they are using. He also likes to set crab traps, blue crabs are in this area closer to the mouth of the river near the Gulf. He also likes to go to antiquing/thrift store shopping and visit the local restaurants.

Why Susan chose Spring Hill
Weeki Wachee is an extraordinary place due to the beautiful river with the crystal clear water and the temperature of the river being 72 degrees and fresh water coming up into the river every day. The manatees on the river truly are gentle giants and seeing one up close and personal makes you feel so lucky. People on the river are super nice and will greet you as you travel. Always ask them if they saw a manatee and if so, where? They will tell you. The new seawall and dock make the property even better with being able to fish from the dock or just sit out there on it and enjoy the view and fresh air without having to leave the backyard. The wildlife in this area and the country setting with the fresh area attracted the owner to this area and yet only 15 minutes away is the big city amenities. Wild turkeys are known to roam the neighborhood and come right onto the property.
What makes this Mobile Home unique
The property is located in the quiet neighborhood of Weeki Wache Estates which consists of about 8 streets all that dead end at the water. Both ends of the streets are surrounded by woods and there is plenty of wildlife to see. The paddle to the river from the dock in the backyard is especially nice since it is all natural woods once you get past our neighborhood and you can see deer and owls and birds, even manatees swim in the canal. Once you reach the river, about 20 minutes, you can go to the left and paddle up river towards the springs, or to the right and paddle down river towards the Gulf of Mexico and Rogers Park, Hospital Hole, Upper Deck Restaurant, Kayak Shack. The house is set up for families, couples, or friends.

Great family vacation!
Our family had a fantastic time in this home and exploring the river. The home offered everything we needed and we all felt very much at home. The 2 additional kayaks were also very nice touch. The beds were comfortable and the home accommodated 3 adults and 3 children very easily. They also offered beach/river towels and had extra fishing gear. We will definitely be back!
Quaint and cozy, priced well.
Everything is here to make our stay comfortable. Enjoyed kayaking to the river but the current was so swift if I went with the current paddling back home would have been really difficult. I saw wild hogs and an armadillo!
Thanks for your review. Time goes by so fast on vacation time n so slowly when not on vacation. Glad u had a good time n liked the house n enjoyed the river. The river is not usually so fast. You should always try to paddle against the current first on way out then flow back with it. I've been out there when it was difficult. Glad you made it back safely. Did u see manatees? Please come again if u ever get opportunity and tell friends n family about your stay. Thank you. Susan
Perfect little place for the family to get away!
Thanks for your booking. So glad you were able to come and enjoy your stay and the river. Please come again if you ever get the opportunity. Susan
Cute and nicely kept
Sue was super accommodating and very quick to address our needs. The house was very cute and super clean! It was surprisingly larger than I thought it would be. Very spacious kitchen/living room and bedrooms. The spare bedroom even has a sleeper sofa, not sure about the living room couch, as we didn't need any extra space. The canal going out to the Weeki Wachee river was such a nice kayak ride. We will be back to enjoy this place again!
The property was exactly what was described. Just right for our needs. Susan was always available.
My husband, two teenage boys, puppy and I had a wonderful time. The river was relaxing and the little work out to get to the clear waters for playing and swimming in the water was nice. Boys found several trees to climb and jump into the river from. Thank you Susan for being helpful and available to answer questions.
Fun girls trip
Very clean and comfortable.
It's Florida on the water so they do have no See Ums therefore, be sure to bring your bug spray
Weeki Wachee State Park & Buccaneer Bay Water Park are on the corner of Commercial Way/Hwy. 19 & Cortez/Hwy 50. The boat ride on the river is very nice & informative about the springs. Spring Hill has lots of shopping & restaurants. The closest beaches are Bay Port and Pine Island, Pine Island has a food stand and is more of a beach than Bay Port. Bay Port has a fishing pier. Rogers Park is on Shoal Line Rd & has a boat launch, a beach on the Weeki Wachee River and a children's playground. Across from Rogers Park North is The Upper Deck Restaurant and the Kayak Shack. Further down Shoal Line Rd are more restaurants ZigZag Scallop, R Beach, Waterfront Grill and a few others. Also down Shoal Line Rd are parks where you can picnic and fish/crab, walk the docks. North of here is Homosassa & Homosassa Springs, they have an attraction there small zoo and manatee preserve. Very interesting and fun to do. Further North is Crystal River if you go there, visit Three Sisters Springs. South is Tarpon Springs go to the sponge docks and Greek restaurants. Furth South is Tampa and St Petersburg, both offer lots of night light, beaches, shopping, restaurants and activities. Busch Gardens Theme Park is in Tampa.
