One of the best stays we've had as a family. The cabin, stream, and entire area was amazing! Fished, walked, BBQ'd, sat on the exquisite patio, played cards, watched football and just had beautiful family time.
Would definitely recommend :)
Really enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable cabin along the American river with everything we needed to relax. Close to the road but the river drowns out any traffic noise on the back deck. Loved the views from the living room and kitchen. Kitchen well stocked. Enjoyed a polar plunge in the river and a day skiing at Kirkwood as the local snow was sparse. Korean retaurant walking distance was awesome, otherwise have to drive a bit to eat so we brought some food with us for cooking. Overall great stay and would definitely recommend.
This cabin has it all! Great river access and in a great location for day trips in the area. Debbie was always available to answer any questions. Wish we could book this cabin again!
This beautiful cabin has everything you could dream of, gorgeous river location, nearby hiking and all the comforts of home. We would love to be able to return again next winter and summer! Wonderful experience…. Thank you Debbie.
This cabin by the river was perfect for our family. So relaxing. Everything was exactly as we expected. Debbie is very nice to share her lovely home with those that are lucky enough to book it! A great experience!
I've always wanted to stay by the river in a cabin and it was perfect. The cabin was clean. We depended on the kitchen being stocked with cookware and utensils, and it didn't let us down. Feasting by the river was awesome.
The only negative thing was the upstairs bedroom doesn't have any heating vents, so it was significantly colder than downstairs.
This home is the perfect place for a getaway of a few days or week. Sits right along the South Fork of the American River........ such a beautiful setting and you can go right down to the water which is just feet away from the house and enjoy the sun and water. House is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Windows all around, a great large deck for entertaining and BBQ. We will for sure be renting this home again in the future. Thank you for sharing this little gem!!!! The Wallace & Schneider Family
Our family really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and layout was perfect for our family of four. The river was amazing, and the sounds from the river were so soothing. The only thing that would have made it better, would have been staying there longer!! We can’t wait to get the chance to go back and stay longer. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Check-in was easy, the house was easy to find, the river is on the property. I could see the river from the bedroom window. Love the grill on the beautiful and gigantic patio with the gorgeous view of the river, so peaceful! We walked around a bit after meals, the area and neighbors were very friendly and nice.
Our family had an amazing time at this cabin! The location on the river was incredible - with rocks to climb on, a swimming hole just outside, and a calmer floating section a 3 minute walk away. The back patio surrounded by trees and river was magical, plus the hammocks and various chairs to enjoy the trees and river from, in different places throughout the yard. The cabin was spacious enough to fit the 5 of us comfortably, very well stocked, clean and very comfortable all around. Even though the cabin is very close to highway 50, the noise didn't bother us at all (between the beautiful sound of the river and great double paned windows). We had good cell phone signal (both AT&T and Verizon) and the internet worked well enough. Only minor complaint was that the cabin was very dark at night - which is common for old cabins that had to retrofit electrical - but some brighter lighting (especially in the kitchen) would really help. Overall, simply an amazing place to stay - I hope we'll get to go back another time!
Can’t wait to go back! The family enjoyed the sound of the river, the beautiful views, and close proximity to Lake Tahoe but far enough for nice privacy. We will be back!
Great cabin, directly on the river! Just off Hwy50, so quiet and private. Everything you need to enjoy, perfect for families or small groups. Enough space to relax in peace or with friends!!
We’ll be back!!
We were a small party of three for this stay and were quiet impressed with the cabin to say the least! Very cozy feel with lovely fireplace that kept us nice n warm. (We only used the heater a little bit!) Beautiful view with the American River just a few steps away which drowned out any possible noise from the road. More than enough space for the us and I can see a larger group being quite comfortable. What we were impressed with the most, though; The more than fully stocked kitchen! Our crew likes to cook. Having stayed at many cabins in the past that left us quite disappointed regarding kitchen utensils that barely worked, dulls knives, ect., we became used to just bringing our own cutlery or spices n such. We found the kitchen basically overstocked with pretty much everything and anything you might need! Including spices, cutlery (with knives that actually cut!) all kinds of dish wear and cooking gadgets... the cooks were soooo happy! It was the best! Also, a little something I thought was very considerate, the bathrooms are stocked with sundries just in case you forgot something! I honestly have not seen that before when renting a cabin. We were very happy with our stay! Recommend for a nice get away!
Reasonably close to Tahoe and generally clean place. Host was responsive and there were no issues with the stay. The listing was a bit misleading as it stated snow in the heading and had a few pics, but those may have been from a few weeks back. Also, good to get fresh linen for bedding as it seemed a bit old. Overall, a good experience and would stay again if needed.

I have been a real estate agent in El Dorado County for 27 years. My number 1 on my bucket list was to own a cabin on the river. I live in the area and have raised my children here. My family spent many years camping along the river. I want to share my experience as a cabin homeowner. The river is a place I can meditate and be at peace. If you are interested in purchasing a vacation home, please contact me.
Why they chose this property
River Front property has always been my dream. I wanted to be able to throw a stone from the cabin to the water. My cabin has the view of the river from almost every window. The sound of the river drowns out all my worries and cares. I love the deep swimming hole during the summer months and the challenge of rock climbing across the river. My childhood vacations were memories of camping along rivers, creeks and lakes. There was always a fishing pole in my hand not to mention the flames and smell of a camp fire.
What makes this property unique
Deep swimming hole, fishing, hiking on the Pony Express Trail, close to Sierra Tahoe Ski Resort, Mountain climbing on Sugar Loaf, peaceful, a remarkable experience.
