Charming flat with a balcony facing a romantic typical Venetian canal
We rent our flat in Venice for short weekly stays all year round (preferably weekly stays but we can accept a minimum stay of three days). The flat is perfect for two and suitable for a family with a child. “Nati’s House” offers the comfort and the charm that could emphasize the value of your stay in this spectacular city of the world. Very well lighted, it faces with a balcony a marvellous typical Venetian canal, in a part of Venice, which still belongs to Venetians. We think this is a great value for the wise tourist. The flat is completely furnished, some pieces of furniture are antique and it is located at the first floor: safe when the sea floods the streets and far from humidity of the ground floors. “Nati’s House” is waiting you just four minutes by the Alilaguna water bus stop (shuttle service from/to the airport). For more photos and further details about us, the flat and the simple automatic way to book your stay, please visit our website. Ask us the URL if you can't see it in this page.

Owner: Paolo Devescovi, owner since 2003, architect free lance and art teacher in public school. In early 2002 the stock exchange crisis caused by the disaster of the twin towers, spread over the world. In that occasion I saw my savings eroded considerably. So I decided to buy a little flat in Venice (Nati's House). I am an architect and surely I can take care of buildings better than care of money. Since then, the rental activity, held through the web, became an important activity of mine. As freelance architect I soon acquired clients who expressly wanted to restore or to refurbish their houses for doing the same rental activity I was managing for my new Venetian place. The whole has been dressed by my enthusiastic approach to the possibilities offered by the Internet. I aggregated around my private website a small community of guests. In some cases, true friendships started for long lasting rapports. Since then, the rental activity, held through the web, became an important activity of mine. As freelance architect I soon acquired clients who wanted to restore or to refurbish their houses for doing the same rental activity I was managing for my own properties. The whole has been dressed by my enthusiastic approach to the possibilities offered by the Internet. I aggregated around my private website a small community of guests. In some cases, true friendships started for long lasting rapports. Some years ago, some companies bought the whole trust of the online advertisements, begining to target the fast online-booking-style through the search engines rather than to foster the quality of growing sincere relationships as I was used to offer through my website and my personal brand Archirent (do a search on line for more). Anyway I go to great lengths to maintain the original spirit and fight against standardization of great commercial websites. Right now I can count to the cooperation of my valid colleague and architect Carlotta Lo Verde.

What makes this Apartment unique
On one thing I staid strong: I maintained the same prices in all my advertisements. You will see that the prices in this website are lower than those reported in my official private website (do a search with Archirent). This reduction takes into account the fact you have to pay an 8.7% average rate as Service Fee to book through this website (actually the total will grow as you proceed with the checkout procedure!). The price, based on short stays, you are going to pay using this website, is approximately the same you can find in my private website or in other websites advertising my property. Differences may persist, but, positive or negative they are really inconsistent (a few euros due to the VAT policies, variability of currency rates and other factors). If you book through this website you will get the benefit of an insurance and my advertisement will rank into a higher position toward the top of the ‘anonymous competitors list’ of this website.

Beautiful location, everything that one needed for a great visit to Venice
Location was great- quiet little neighborhood in an authentic Venetian community. There were plenty of nearby restaurants and shops.
I am very happy my guest had a great experience in my Nati's House!
Adorable with a few kinks...
The house is super centrally located and has a fabulous view. It was easy to find and enter the property. However, after over a day and 2 non responsive messages I had to call to figure out why I didn’t have hot water. 10 minutes on an international call later, it was sorted. Not as excited to get my phone bill...The bed literally is a pull out couch, but was perfectly comfortable after a day of roaming the city. I would certainly recommend - just be ready to call if there are concerns, and note that the common area in the building has no lighting....be prepared to use a flashlight after dark.
It’s true. My guest had to wait one day before I could solve the problem with the heater to ensure continuity in supplying hot water. I have surely left too much time before facing the client’s problem and this is not in agreement with what any guest has to expect by me, in particular because our terms and conditions pages imply a serious procedure in case of complaints pointed out by guests. During years of this long lasting activity with tourist rentals I can ensure it’s the first time such a delay happens. I ensure this was a casual event due to personal issues.
So, I really apologize with my client for the occasional inefficiency and I promise to anyone who will visit my property a prompter reply in the future, in case of a sudden necessity.
On regards of no lightning in the common area of the building, I was not informed of this fact. I noticed it to the building administrator for the due measures.
Great location, but rather small and dark
We love Cannaregio, and it was only a short walk to restaurants and shops. By far the worst thing about the flat was the lighting - it was very dark and reading was almost impossible. The bathroom was small. There was very little space to put anything anywhere - we had to use the "dining" table (which was almost impossible to eat off anyway). The sofa bed was not really very comfortable, I'm afraid. We couldn't get the television to work.
Paolo was very helpful and his instructions up to our arrival were very good. He also responded to an email query about the washing machine very promptly, but we only had to ask because we couldn't find the manual (we did eventually). There were two large folders of manuals and instructions in no meaningful order, many duplicated, many of no interest to guests. I suggest a single "flat manual" with the instructions for all the machines etc in one place.
It was very thoughtful to provide two sets of keys.
Please do something about the lighting! On dark, rainy March nights, people need to read, either in the sitting room or in bed.
...it seems March rainy days have ruined the venetian stay of my guest...
I had never had notices about poor lighting by my previous guests, there are plenty of lamps into the apartment (*). If the problem was some broken bulbs, I want to let know to my future guests that there are several new bulbs in a drawer for easy replacements and in any case, as written in my "terms and conditions" pages, I ask my guests to notice any easy-to-be-solved issues during the stay: as turnover works take place in the late mornings, it may inadvertently happen that some bulb remains broken if the previous guests do not inform us.
Anyway, starting from tomorrow, there will be a new desk lamp supplied expressly to be placed anywhere for reading purposes as suggested by the guest.
About the fact the apartment is small, I can't do anything, anyway it seems to me that written descriptions and photos show appropriately the unit (there is also shown a reliable 3D-layout of the apartment). Anyone can understand that larger apartments might imply a higher price... there are plenty of them in this website.
I will try to re-organize the "flat-manual" as suggested by my beloved guest.
- one ceiling light in the entrance
- bathroom: one wall lamp;
- living-kitchen: one central light, a bedside lamp near the sofa, a lamp near the kitchen desk, the built-in lamp over the four-ring stove;
- bedroom: central light, a bedside lamp, a table lamp with a wide lampshade onto the desk, and now, the new added lamp (see above).
Easy to find, quiet neighborhood, less than ten minutes to the busy streets.
Nati's House was a perfect place for us to venture from to explore Venice. The apartment is clean, warm, comfortable and fully equipped. The building was quiet as was the neighborhood. It was very easy to find, and close to the first major vaporetto stop that arrives from the airport. We arrived in the midst of Carnavale celebrations and our days were long and busy. It was especially nice to leave the crowded walkways and arrive in our neighborhood where it was calm and peaceful. We would return to this apartment in the future!
Comfortable & clean apartment in a great neighborh
We had a great time in Nati’s apartment. Great location on a quiet side street overlooking the canal. Great patio, comfortable, & clean. woul highly recommend Nati’s apartment.
The apartment is cute, quiet and cozy. It is well located for walking around the city .
The apartment is cute, quiet and cozy. Great for staying in with a bottle of wine and foods from the markets nearby. It is also well located for walking around the city, with plenty of good restaurants and bacari nearby and the historic Jewish area within steps.
Located in the Cannaregio District, where the popular culture of Venice is still alive and where restaurants and “osterias” are still for Venetians (and for the few lucky tourists who go off the beaten track for a minute or two) .4-8 minutes walk from the boat service, 11-13 from railway station and 10 from Rialto, maybe less with “gondola” shuttle. If you plan to arrive to the San Marco Airport, just take the Alilaguna shuttle boat Airport-Venice, stop at Guglie water bus stop in Venice and then you have to walk four minutes and just one bridge to cross!
