Welcome to Boulder Ridge! (23 year age minimum to rent this property) Built in 2015, this dream vacation home was designed for people that truly appreciate the great outdoors, but who also want to relax and feel pampered. Boulder Ridge boasts 2600 square feet of pure pleasure on 7 acres of secluded, peaceful, mountainside in the heart of the High Peaks Region. Perched 2 miles above the hamlet of Keene, close to the charming towns of Keene Valley and Jay, Boulder Ridge is only a short drive to Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort. Anyone who visits will find an endless choice of activities and plenty of privacy to relax.

As you arrive catch a glimpse of the the magnificent views, spectacular decks, hot tub, open fire pit, outdoor shower (seasonal) and sprawling yard and then come inside to the home that was designed for the serious Adirondack vacationer. The house sleeps up to 12 people, and features 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. You will enjoy a large open floor plan, including a chef's kitchen and large dining area flanked by a great room with vaulted ceilings, wood-burning stove, and all new stylish furniture. A simply wonderful space for gathering the family and friends. When it is time to rest you will get cozy in one of our 3 king bedrooms or specially designed "Young Adults/Kids" get away bunk/TV room. And don't forget the bathrooms! Each outfitted with rain showers, long vanities and double sinks, everyone will feel like they are on their own private vacation.

The Main floor is where you will find the core of the house. Designed to maximize the most spectacular view, this open floor plan includes a very generous kitchen, including all granite counter tops, a 10' island with double sink, 6 burner stove, oven and microwave, large refrigerator, large pantry and everything else you need to prepare a gourmet meal or just a snack. A desk has also been added, as an extension to the kitchen, for you to plug in phones, tablets or computers, to stay as connected as you want to be. The dining room, which flanks the kitchen, reaches toward the view and boasts a large table to sit up to 12 people, when extended. After a long hike or big dinner, meander into the Great Room and nestle into the large, leather, sectional for a show, kick back in the recliner with a book or maybe just grab a nap in front of a warm, wood burning stove. Finally, when it is time to turn in from your best, first vacation day ever, you can choose from 4 different options.

On the main floor, experience the comforts of a king bedroom furnished with brand new furniture and plush bed, letting you get cozy to read your favorite book or catch a show on the TV provided. The floor, in this room, along will all floors in the house, are radiant floor heated for maximum comfort. Then get spoiled with your own attached bathroom, which includes a large custom shower, separate 6' soaking tub, private toilet, long double vanity and walk in closet.

In addition to the upstairs bedroom, there are two King Bedrooms and a Bunk Room downstairs. Each of these rooms gives you space to spread out and private access to the outside (Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Under Deck Seating). You will also be able to take advantage of the very comfortable radiant floor heating system, throughout, that will keep you toasty in the winter and comfortable in the summer. The first King bedroom provides a plush mattress and the Second King a firm mattress, to meet the needs of every sleeper. With individual decor in each room and comfortable linens, these two king rooms share a bathroom that includes regular and rain shower heads and a double sink vanity.

For the younger vacationer, including kids and young adults, we have put together a "Get Away Suite". This suite includes two custom made bunk beds, a leather sleeper sofa, an entertainment center and it's own private bathroom. Play your favorite X Box game, catch a movie or pull out the board games, either way this room makes space for 6 of the younger generation to sleep in one of 4 twin sized bunk beds or pull out the leather sofa and sleep 2. The larger bathroom, with a private toilet and shower, including a jumbo rain shower, double vanity and plenty of towels, will allow for a larger group to maintain privacy and have their own space.

Outside, the decks were built to use. You can utilize the vast deck area for cooking on the propane grill and feeding a large group or just enjoying the view. To get refreshed hop into our 6-7 person hot tub or grab a warm outdoor shower just before going down to the fire pit to chat about the days events and what is on the schedule for your next adventure.

Now that you are set with all the amenities, make sure to step out and truly enjoy all the Adirondacks have to offer. Each season brings a special opportunity to those who venture out by offering some of the most beautiful scenery you can imagine and endless activities to keep everyone busy. In the Summers you can enjoy things like hiking, biking, canoeing, climbing, fishing to name a few, while in the Winters gearing up for downhill skiing, snow shoeing, sledding or taking a ride down the Olympic Bob Sled. When Fall arrives stay with us for a long weekend and soak in the colors of nature like you have never seen before. For those who just want to relax, enjoy a soak in the Ausable River, across from Marcy Field or at Chapel Pond and shoppers, don't feel left out. Antiquing, arts & crafts and farmers markets are all part of the local flare to easily fill your days. You can find all the finest shopping and restaurants within a range of 2-20 miles and never be bored.

While you stay with us it is important to remember that safety is paramount and our motto is "Leave No Trace" when hiking and enjoying other activities in these beautiful surroundings. We have a strong hope for the longevity of this beautiful park and it's care is up to those who enjoy it.

Our address is located at approximately 2500 feet above sea level. The weather tends to be cooler than the valley area and snow is much more likely in the area during Winter months. It is strongly recommended that 4 wheel drive vehicles are used in the Winter months. Please be aware that we specify that the property sleeps 12 people. This includes the utilization of the pull out sleeper sofa in the Bunk Room. Cable TV and Internet Service will be provided with unlimited Wifi. Verizon has the only cell phone coverage and can be utilized at certain spots within the house and outside on the deck. No Smoking Anywhere on the property. Must be 23 years or older to rent this property.

The High Peaks Region is a very special place and goes back in the family for generations. Holly has enjoyed the area since she was a child, living here in the Summers and frequenting to ski in the Winters. On my first visit to the High Peaks, I proposed to Holly at the peak of Big Crow. It was at that point I knew our family would carry the torch and make a new home here. 15 years later we have been able to make that dream come true. Together we have decided that not only will we retire here, but make this place available for so many others to enjoy. With this in mind, we have assembled a team that is dedicated to giving you the best service, by maintaining an impeccable home and grounds. Our standards are very high to make sure you have a clean and safe place to bring your family and friends and share with us, one of the most beautiful places in the world.

  • The Master Suite includes a very spacious bathroom that gives you plenty of opportunity to pamper yourself. Indulge in the large, custom shower under the massive rain head or relax in our oversize, 6' soaking tub. The 8' double vanity is outfitted with a hair dryer, curling iron and flat iron and the toilet and walk in changing closet were built for privacy. In the Bunk Suite, on the lower level, the younger folks will feel equally spoiled with their own private bathroom, including an oversize rain shower and private toilet in one room and double vanity in the other. The other bathroom on this level is shared by the two King Bedrooms, but also boasts the same large rain shower and double vanity. All bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are provided, as well as striped beach towels for use of the hot tub.

Games, such as Boccee Ball and Horse Shoes are provided. A path will be in place to get to the fire pit. A four wheel drive vehicle in the winter months is strongly suggested to get into the property. Roads are well maintained in the winter by the town of Keene.

Great Place!

This was our second stay at this place. It's great for larger parties. It's close enough to Lake Placid and the high peaks to really get the best of the Adirondacks. Randall and Holly are great hosts and really want you to enjoy the property to the fullest. We will definitely be staying here in the future.

All our expectations were exceeded.

The home was professionally cleaned and spotless at our arrival. The view from the main living area is spectacular. All bedrooms and baths are large allowing ample space for all clothing especially the amount required for a ski trip. The large mudroom upon entry made it easy to keep the home clean. Although our stay was in the winter, large deck areas would be perfect for outdoor seating, dining, etc. All three king beds were extremely comfortable. We did not utilize the bunk beds. Bathrooms were abundantly stocked with all necessary towels. Soaps and shampoos were also provided just as if it were a hotel. The kitchen had all the necessary items. Everything was in perfect working order.

Simply breathtaking!

I cannot give enough compliments about this property and the owners. Randy was amazing to work with! The house is simply gorgeous and luxurious! We stayed as a surprise to my husband for his 40th birthday and our friends joined us. The kids loved their room (and the X-box) and the adults were so comfortable. We made a big family breakfast and dinner and had an amazing time cooking together in the modern and top-notch kitchen. Lake Placid is a wonderful family vacation. We went on the tobaggon chute and dog-sledded on Mirror Lake. My kids (ages 11 and 7) have already requested we come back and stay at the amazing house! Thank you Randy!
