Comfortable, fully-equipped home in beautiful setting
We loved staying here. The decor was lovely, the kitchen more fully-equipped than we could have asked for, and the beds comfortable. The home was exactly as pictured and impeccably clean.
The hosts were prompt to answer all questions and requests. The notebook at the home with historical information of the land, details about where to find items in the kitchen and elsewhere in the house, and local restaurant suggestions was very helpful. Instructions for using the TV, WiFi, laundry, etc. were clear and easy to access. The basket with coffee pods and treats was unexpected and appreciated.
Since we were in the area doing genealogy research, the location was wonderful for us, even though it's a bit remote. Grocery stores and plenty of restaurants are within 15 to 20 minutes, as are beaches, tourist attractions, and historical sites.
We didn't have enough time to make use of all the home had to offer because we were so busy exploring the area but it would be a great house for a family reunion. Beautiful surroundings, comfortable home and great location made for a wonderful stay.
We lost our depth gauge and GPS so we had to fish from the wonderful dock—caught two sizable sharks! Great spot in a great setting. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Well equipped throughout!
This is a home, not a house, and has that kind of cared for quality, with plenty of common space to spread out in. My son loved it as he paddle boarded from the dock all over the place. Although on can swim from the dock, it's seaweeded so not very inviting. Good beaches are 20 or so minutes away.
Grill and outside deck are excellent; relatives with children were staying at another house and came by evenings for grilling and backyard play.
Overall we greatly enjoyed our stay in this home. Wheelchair accessible and very convenient to get to the neighboring villages/sights to see. Only concern was the air conditioning is "unbalanced" throughout the home so 2 of the bedrooms were warmer than the others. Also, dock is a bit of a distance from home, making it inconvenient to get kayak/canoes to water. But we would certainly considering renting this home again next year !
Perfect Private Getaway
If you are looking for a private getaway look no further!
Jagalust Landing is perfectly situated on Osbrook Point; the house is beautiful and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Master bedroom / bath is gorgeous, additional bedrooms are nice as well. The kitchen is somewhat small but still completely functional with a lovely dining / living room area to relax in. Wrap around porch is great for early morning deer watching and coffee!
With a short walk on the property to the dock we were able to enjoy the water every day (perfect weather our week there). The owners were very accomodating as we brought our boat with us on vacation. Fresh fish caught almost daily and easily fileted on the cutting station at the dock. It was a perfect and much needed week of R&R.
Only drawback - and quite minor - was the long bumpy dirt road into the property.
Great summer week
A special place - on the water, with a dock, but set back in the trees - which minimizes the water view, but is more than made up for by the gorgeous space between the house and the water - especially for the birders among our party. Wonderful great room/dining area, with a small but serviceable kitchen, a fabulous master bedroom/bath/walk in closet, plus three other bedrooms made the stay for our party of eight perfect. We look forward to coming again next summer!
Close to Mystic/Groton, Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun casinos and Stonington wine trail. Less than an hour to Newport and Block Island ferries.
