Why Meg Haenn chose Dripping Springs

Until just a few months ago our home was part of Buffalo Bend Ranch. For over 20 years we raised bison and llamas, and we shared our ranch with goats, chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl and many rescue dogs and cats. This was, and remains, a sanctuary to us. We have a seasonal creek in the back acreage. We enjoy the wildlife, the flora, and the weather the Hill Country has to offer. We hope you do too.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Our home is a strawbale adobe home. We built the house ourselves 22 years ago with the help of many friends and neighbors. Every door and window has a story. Our walls are over 18 inches thick and we mean it when we say "if these walls could talk"!

Okay for a weekend

  • 3 of 5

The house was clean and comfortable. The property was peaceful, and we saw many deer. I was personally uncomfortable with the uncovered windows in the bathroom, and it was obvious while we were out that someone had come to the home and left which was a little unnerving. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. Also, just be aware that it takes a week for your deposit to be returned which was different from our previous experiences with VRBO. The owner was easy to work with and our needs were met.

Owner's Response: I am glad you found the house clean and comfortable. We also find it very peaceful. I would be happy to add a curtain to the window in the bathroom. The refund timing for the deposit is set by VRBO. As a owner, we are given 3 days to report any damage. If we do not report any, the refund process begins. Thanks for helping me get to the bottom of understanding if someone stopped by while you were there. Best, Meg

Very nice place

My wife and I stayed here for a little getaway from the house. It is centrally located to many desirable locations and a very peaceful place to return to at the end of the day.

A quiet restful stay in the hill country near Austin.

  • 4 of 5

Stayed three nights to attend a reunion. The ranch house is a bit off of the beaten path, but worth the time that it takes to get there from HWY 290. (about 8 miles) The road to the ranch has a lot of turns and dips and if you are visiting, you should have a GPS to help you find your way the first couple of times. You should also be careful of the many deer that we saw (especially at night). The unit has all of the amenities you will need for a quite restful stay. Meg was extremely responsive and made sure that we were made to feel welcome. Cell phone reception at the ranch is a little "iffy", but I was able to get limited service by going outside of the house. Service improves if you can sync your phone to your car if it has hands free capability. Additionally, Meg does provide WiFi which was very good. We spent every evening on the porch overlooking the valley. Definitely a nice place to visit and I look forward to returning there next year for the annual reunion. Thanks for the pleasant stay Meg!!!!
