Come and stay in our beautiful country home in the spectacular southern Sierra. We are only 17 gorgeous miles from the entrance into Yosemite National Park. Spend the day hiking the trails in Yosemite then come home and enjoy a refreshing swim in the large, private in-ground pool. Relax in our comfy hammocks or play horseshoes and badminton. Like to read? Curl up in one of our outdoor lounge chairs, relax, read and enjoy the sweet smelling mountain air. We have a stainless steel grill to BBQ to your heart’s delight. After dinner soak in our secluded therapeutic mineral spa reviving sore, trail weary muscles. You are only 7 minutes from the mountain village of Oakhurst where you can dine out in one of our many restaurants, take in a movie or perhaps a play at the Golden Chain Theater. A 30-minute drive up historic Hwy 49 takes you to Mariposa, an authentic gold rush town with the oldest continuously working courthouse in California, and visit one of the best museums in the area. Bass Lake is only 10 minutes away from our country home if you want to spend the day fishing and boating. Our area has many beautiful drives to take, trails to hike and things to do. Come and visit and you will want to come back again and again and again.

About Christina Ralston
Retired RN. Grew up in Los Angeles area and always wanted to live in the mountains. I'm an outdoor loving girl. Anytime I can be out hiking, exploring or swimming, I'm in heaven.
Christina Ralston purchased this Chateau / Country House in 1987
Why Christina Ralston chose Oakhurst
This property was beautiful and had the perfect location. Close enough to town but still in the forest. We get snow but not too much. Oakhurst is a family friendly town and welcomes travelers with open arms. Beautiful, easy drive to Yosemite or explore historic Hwy 49 with it's rich mining history.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
Location, location, location! In the forest, but only 45 minutes from a city. We can still do a beach trip in one day as we are only 3.5 hours from Monterey Bay. We are right outside the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park, who can ask for more than that.

This was my 3rd summer spent here. The previous 2 summers I traveled with my dogs, this year with my sisters and our father. The property is fenced and allows your pooches to run free and follow their noses. For humans, the home is spacious, with comfortable furniture and beds. The outdoor deck and porch were great places to escape and read, watch for deer. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds comfortable and Christina, the owner, is available for any questions. The pool and spa are refreshing. The home is conveniently located to Bass Lake and Yosemite.
Thank you again Christina, for making your home available, being dog friendly and providing all the thoughtful touches that make this a home.
I hope we are able to return next year.
Beautiful place. Has all the amenities you would need and then some.
We would definitely stay here again!!
Beautiful, cozy, accommodating, and fun!
This house is so wonderful, that we decided to stay here a second time! The hammocks, pool, jacuzzi, bbq, and patio are where we spent most of our time, and it really felt removed from the rest of the world! The owners are very kind and helpful, and accommodating with information and kitchen/cooking accoutrements. Would stay here again and again!
The property was beautiful. The house is alot larger in person
I want to start by saying our stay was wonderful. We loved the s'mores kit and the bottle of wine that was given to us. Its was a nice surprise. My kids loved being outside in the pool and jacuzzi. The house was had everything we needed. It was so nice and peaceful to just relax. Also town is very close by if there was anything that we needed to get. I would recommend this property to anyone.
Outstanding Property and Location
We recently spent several days at the Ralston's wonderful home in Oakhurst. The location of the house is perfect. It is in a quiet area with lots of land surrounding it. The property itself has fenced yards in both the front and back. It was perfect for our two little dogs who could explore and romp with freedom and safety. It is very gracious of the Ralston's to allow pets at their home. The house itself was very comfortable and supplied with everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed both the front and back decks as well as the pool. It is perfectly located to visit Yosemite, Wawona, Bass Lake and many other vacation wonderlands. We will return at our next opportunity, especially after having discovered this gem of a residence.
Thank You to the Ralston's.
Loved our stay at Christina's. Coming back!
We've stayed at Christina's place for 2 nights and had a wonderfull time. The house is very spacious with huge leaving room, well equipment kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. The house is well decorated and gives a feeling of home. We enjoed the deck, where we had our meals. Our kids loved to play in the pool and we were able to watch them from the deck which is very comfortable. The jakuzzi area is very pleasend and intimate. We'll defenatly come back!
