It is a charming cabin - but it needs a good cleaning

  • 3 of 5

The road to get up there is in need of some real work. The cabin is certainly a cute cabin. Not even one bed in the place is sleepable, no one could sleep on the mattresses you have, you really need to invest in some new ones. The whole place really needs a good cleaning, you can't expect the people who pay to stay there to really keep it up for you. The firepit is great, but the back step to get out to it is very dangerous. People should be told that the only person that can get up and sleep in the loft are children and that it is enter through a drop down in the ceiling like an old attic latch (not real accessable for an adult) It is a cabin though. Cute but needs work. Thanks for the use of the property.

Good location. Nice cabin. Tight parking.

  • 3 of 5

Cabin was nice and exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of room for a large group of people. Unfortunately parking is very tight and the bushes around the driveway need trimmed. Without care they could scratch a vehicle. Additional parking is available a short walk away and we made it work. Septic tank needs emptied and is seeping into yard. Overall cabin was nice and what we were looking for. However not a very secluded location. The lot is small and surrounded by other cabins.

Great experience, would highly recommend this cabin for use. We had what we needed to cook on site. We roamed the area and we're away from the cabin most days, but when we returned, there was plenty of room for all 7 individuals (kids included). Great price for a fantastic cabin. Thank you.

Could use a deep cleaning

  • 3 of 5

Overall our stay was fine. But the cabin was definitely in need of a cleaning. After just a few hours, our white socks were black on the bottom. Also, I think it's slightly lacking in amenities. There were only about 5 bath towels and they look old/worn out. There were zero dish rags or dish towels. And a couple of the beds were missing sheets. Just has an overall feeling of being unkempt. And as per checkout instructions, we attempted to clean before we left, but there were 3 vacuums and none of them worked and the broom and dust pan were falling apart. All in all, the stay was fine and my kids had fun, so that's all that matters, but I wouldn't recommend this property to others. It's unfortunate because there's a lot of potential there. But definitely not what you'd expect for the price.

Great cottage/cabin with all the essentials

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for 7 nights with 5 people and 2 dogs. The cabin is affordable, clean and cutely decorated, and had all the essentials including a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 6, comfortable living room with cable (basic only)/internet/DVD player and DVDs, and beds for everyone. We enjoyed the firepit, hammock, grill and picnic table as well. However we would have enjoyed nicer bed linens and towels - don't expect hotel quality here. One cautionary note: the cabin is on a VERY rough, rocky dirt road. 4WD/SUVs will be fine but some vehicles may be unable to get to the property and may need to park on a nearby road, as we did. It is well situated for outings to a number of state and national parks and historic sites. We really enjoyed our adventures in the PA Laurel Highlands with StoneCliff as homebase.
