Private parking for 1 car. No smoking. Please note: No babies. There are 5 steps in the garden and a small pond.. In an exceptional location with unrivalled views over Ullswater and the surrounding fells from its patio with LED lighting, this former carriage house stands adjacent to Wreay Mansions, an exclusive small development of homes set peacefully amidst spectacular scenery. Furnished in a contemporary style, this makes a perfect location for a romantic break. Two miles away, Pooley Bridge has shops and inns. Many beautiful walks around the lake can be enjoyed, as well as nearby Aira Force Waterfall, Helvellyn, or trips on the Ullswater steamers. A scenic drive can be taken over Kirkstone pass to Ambleside and Windermere. Shops 2 miles, pub/restaurant ½ mile.

A great location with amazing views from the cottage. Under floor heating in the bathroom is fab too! No provision for recycling was disappointing and the key box was difficult to find, otherwise a perfect place for a couple to stay. Mind your head upstairs, as already advised, but that's a small price to pay when you bear in mind the facilities and location.

I absolutely love this cottage.

I absolutely love this cottage. I have stayed here 3 times and plan to return for a 4th very soon. Its situated on the side of the hill overlooking Ullswater lake and the fell. Its only a short drive from the M6 and is at a quieter, less touristic lake ( and I think way more beautiful) than somewhere like Windermere. If you do happen to visit Windemere, you must drive up and over Kirkstone Pass (don't use the M6) as the drive and views are breathtaking. The little garden with its water features and planting is adorable. I was surrounded by butterflies on my recent August visit. And the view....WOW!!! Sitting with a glass of wine in your hand whilst the sun sets...well...it doesn't get much better than that. Plenty of wonderful walks or climbs right on your doorstep, too The cottage itself is lovely. Light, bright, full of character but with a modern touch. I can't put in to words how fabulous this cottage is. Highly recommend you stay here
