About Michelle McDonald
My husband and I looked for over 6 years for a place to call our own in the Outer Banks, and we finally found it in Between the Sound and Sea Escape! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Michelle McDonald purchased this House in 2016
Why Michelle McDonald chose Dare County
The house is located right between the sound and the ocean with its own amazing view of a clear water lake. We liked how close it is to shopping, and love the fact that it still has a "small town" feel that we could not get in the upper Outer Banks.

Nice House, Perfect Location.
Keyless entry is nice but didn't work every time. Trees over driveway need trimming as my fishing poles hit when I pulled in driveway.
Beautiful house in a peaceful neighborhood
We loved staying here! The house and property was really nice and Michelle had everything we needed.
Roomy Accommodation by the water
We enjoyed our stay here and had a great weekend! The property is well stocked, and is located very close to stores and restaurants. Our group consisted of 4 couples and two dogs - this home was an ideal size for us and was a perfect getaway for the New Year's weekend.
We probably will be back here sometime in the summer. Frigid weather greeted us when we got here, but the hot tub helped us deal with it! The kitchen had all the necessary gadgets and paraphernalia for cooking up multiple meals, and we barely had to get anything besides perishables for our stay.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend this property to folks looking for a relaxing getaway.
We loved our stay!
We loved our stay. The house is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is very nice and we were able to prepare several meals for 6 adults and 2 children. Location is great, close to both Hatteras and Bodie lighthouses and the beach. We would definitely stay there again.
Thanks for the great review! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay! You and your family are welcome back anytime! Michelle owner
Great house and town!
Loved our stay! The house was perfect and had everything we needed including all linens, towels, TP, paper towels. Beda were comfy, and there is a TV in almost every room. The town of Avon was really cute and the beaches are dog friendly!!! only minor complaints are that the hot tub was only about 90 degrees-we couldn't get it any hotter during our stay, the only other nit-picky thing is that the TV in the master bedroom is a Roku TV and none of the streaming channels, or cable seems to work. But all the other TV's have cable. nevertheless our stay was great and we would certainly rent it again :)
Thanks for the great review! We will definitely check out the hot tub, it is less than a year old, so might be a setting or reset issue. The master tv should have cable , unless someone messed with the tv settings, we will check that as well! Thanks for staying, you definitely welcome back anytime!! Michelle-owner

We do welcome pets to our home, but we will need proof that your pet is flea free before they can stay. The proof can be a letter from at veterinarian that states that the pet is on medication for fleas, and is flea free. I am sorry if this is an inconvenience, but we want all guests to have a pleasurable stay in a flea free home. If it is found that you have a pet that was not registered, and the pet fee was not paid, you will be charged the pet fee, and responsible for any flea's found after your stay (as they can live months before hatching).
