About Karen Martinez

My boyfriend introduced me to this area, it was not my first time here but I saw it through new eyes when I first visited his vacation rental with a friend and was introduced to him. He was my inspiration to find stay in this little paradise, to see the beauty every day and not to be held in the bustle of the city. #citygirlgonecountry! I built this cabin and my cabin home in these woods (with my boyfriend and a friend who is a builder) as a place to be in nature for myself and as a lovely place to share with vacation guests coming to this area.

Karen Martinez purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Karen Martinez chose Cleveland

I looked at many properties before deciding on this particular one. Nothing else offered the kind of location that this property does. It's fantastic and was the best buy of my life.

What makes this cabin unique

These hand crafted cabins, built by myself, my boyfriend and my friend are unique and cozy. I tried to think of how things would work comfortably so people could move about the cabin comfortably and would have anything they needed to cook with and relax.

The small porch is where I spend most of my relaxing time watching the birds and listening to all things in nature surrounding me. You can hear the world beyond every once in a while and that makes this cozy place all the more special.

Awesomeness in One Lil Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 2 nights. The Cabin is very charming and quite. The Cabin has big Windows, which let in beautiful light! I love the front porch, and watching the birds feed. We were able to sit and just watch movies for the first night on the Comfy Sectional Couch. It's all that you need for a great get away. I love how they seem to know everything that you'll need for your stay. We visited Table Rock which was right down from the cabin. Be sure to get all the groceries that you will need before you get to the cabin. Walmart was about 25-30 minutes away, which isn't too bad. We will definitely be back. Thanks Mr. Jeff!

Perfect mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I came up for a short trip to see some waterfalls and explore the area. This cabin was everything we needed - quaint, cozy, and comfortable with all of the necessary amenities and in such a perfect spot for anyone wanting to explore some mountains and waterfalls. We will be back again and highly recommend this cabin to anyone considering it! Karen and Jeff are so sweet and accommodating! ❤️

Quaint, pleasant, peaceful. All you really need.

Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner and had a short conversation before being shown to the cabin. The cabin itself was well taken care of and exactly what you need for a quick getaway. We spent our afternoon going out to the local attractions and parks nearby and the nights cozy and warm watching tv. The owners handled any questions that we had immediately and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. We will definitely be visiting again.

Wonderful Cabin & Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

A Little Cabin in the woods was the perfect place for this year's after-Christmas getaway.

The owners are friendly and met us outside upon arrival. We talked for a little while before Jeff showed us to our cabin.

The cabin walls showcase the owner's photography of the beautiful waterfalls and mountain views in the area. Each photo tells the location of the photo and drive-time to get there. There is a stack of cards on the table with information about local restaurants and shops, and a rack of brochures with areas of interest.

The cabin sits across the property from the owner’s home. Even in winter, the trees provided more than enough privacy for us to feel like were in the woods as opposed to in someone’s yard. There is an outdoor seating area with a fire pit and charcoal grill, and a porch that looks out to a very busy bird feeder.

The cabin has a large selection of DVDs.

The cold weather (temps in the 20s, 30s, and 40s during our stay) made the little cabin even feel even cozier.

The cabin is stocked with pots and pans, mugs, a coffeepot, and even coffee! There are plates and silverware, utensils and everything we needed for the three dinners we made during out stay which were mostly holiday leftovers reheated, and a brats and veggie burgers on the grill.

The location of the cabin is perfect for hiking any of the nearby state parks. We spent one day hiking at Table Rock State Park and another hiking at Caesars Head State Park. We ran out of time and didn't have a chance to do everything we wanted to see and do. This is definitely an area we’d love to visit again.

The cabin is in the woods, surrounded by woods. It is cozy and has views out all windows of the surrounding woods, bird feeders on the little porch to see the humming birds and other birds of the region that live in these woods.

It is close to Greenville SC and Ashville NC areas.

The area is the foothills and mountains where SC and NC meet, the escarpment juts up from 1200 feet above sea level to over 3k feet above sea level, nicknamed for it's bluish aura, The Blue Ridge.

The cabin is located right in the middle of many things to do! There are 5 National and State Parks within minutes, there are scenic views at almost every turn in the roads of the area, hiking, biking, waterfall hunting. There is even a winery nearby with tours and a cafe with delightful fare.

OR you can just hibernate in your piece of the woods, sit on the porch and watch and listen to the nature surrounding you.

It's a little piece of paradise we share with you. You'll love it here.
