Quiet solitude. Beautiful valley View. Basic amenities provided. Near many Waterfalls/ forests.

Day 1: Peaceful foggy morning on the swing. Squirrels gathering their winter stash. Chickadees eating walnuts I left on the railing. 3 does crossing the clearing headed into the valley. Wow! What a way to start our experience here!

We enjoyed our stay & were well rested upon departure. The bed was exceptionally comfortable.

We plan to return in the future!

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing

We went for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We enjoyed the seclusion and simplicity of the cabin. Waterfalls are a quick drive to Parking area. We are already planning a return trip with our children!

Family Vacation 08/26/17-09/01/17

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Valley View Cabin. It felt like a home away from home.

It afforded us peace and quiet and some wonderful family time with great memories made.

We had everything that we needed in the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked with all the tools we needed to prepare meals. The cabin was clean and private. We loved the little touches, puzzles to build, the photos of local waterfalls on the walls, plenty of reading material on local area things to do. The location of the cabin was great. We were close to Dupont State Forest and Pisgah Forest for hiking and biking. I would absolutely recommend the Valley View Cabin to friends and family.

The pictures of the views don't do it justice

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely LOVED our time at the cabin. It's a real cabin in the woods. The views were out of this world. It's so peaceful sitting on the back deck watching the sunset and the fog in the valley in the mornings. We're mountain bikers, so being able to ride to Dupont is such a treat. Connie was awesome. She was so friendly and helpful. We will most certainly be back, and soon.

Rustic and quiet in a great location

  • 4 of 5

This rental is located in the woods at the end of a gravel road-- so it is perfect for those looking for a quiet getaway spot. There are no noisy neighbors (except the birds and crickets!) and the view off of the back porch is spectacular-- for viewing both the sunrise and the sunset touching the mountains. The cabin is located conveniently to both the Dupont State Forest with several easy hikes to waterfalls and the Pisgah National Forest with waterfalls, scenic drives and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The town of Brevard is charming with shops and local eateries.

The cabin itself is older but clean. It's not upscale-- but neither is the very affordable price. Could it use an update? Sure-- but then the rental price would surely double. It reminds me of visiting my great-grandma's house-- maybe not all the modern/upscale touches-- but it is good enough. There is only a window AC unit in one bedroom, but it cooled the entire house quite well in the middle of August (and there are plenty of fans in every room as well). Beds are comfortable and the linens were clean.

My only suggestion for guests would be to bring disposable paper products/silverware... hand washing dishes is not my favorite at home OR on vacation :) My only suggestions for the owners would be to add matches for the grill and to update the porch swing seat cushion-- it's the best seat in the house but existing cushion has seen better days!

View's everything here.

Nice, clean property with an amazing view. Couldn't get much closer to DuPont Forest. Great launching point for a waterfall and hiking trip. Oh, and there's ice cream and craft beer right next door.👍🏻👍🏻
