Border Cliffs River Retreat is a fantastic holiday home,accommodating up to eight people in 3 bedrooms.It is located on a 420acre farming property that borders the banks of the magnificent Murray River.The house is fully equipped for a comfortable stay and a secluded outdoor entertaining area with bbq facilities will have you enjoying the great outdoors at its best.
The accommodation is perfect for family holidays and lends itself as a great base for water activities.
Our location offers many activities for the water sports lover,canoers,bushwalkers,bird watchers,fishing enthusiasts and the breathtaking views offer artists an abundance of scenes to paint.Or simply sit back and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the scenic surrounds.

An ideal location for those who enjoy being close up with nature.The nearby Chowilla game reserve offers The Border Cliffs Wetland Trail starting near the Old Customs House and meandering through a wetland supported by the many creeks that run through the reserve.The wetland flora & fauna are highlights of this trail,especially the majestic river red gums and abundant birdlife.

Excellent property

We have just spent an awesome week with our children and grandchildren plus our furbaby grand dog at this magnificent property. We have spent years skiing on the river Murray but have never come across this piece of paradise until now . You have the whole river to yoursel along with your own ski beach.The owmers Leith, Mandy and Duke the dog make you more than welcome and everything you could possibly need is in the beautiful homestead. Thankyou so much for sharing your awesome property with us and we will definitely be back a and we would highly recommend to anyone lookg for a very relaxing holiday with the beautiful river to yourself. Beautiful property with beautiful views

We have just had an amazing week staying at Border Cliffs. Beautiful scenery,river to yourself, friendly service from all including Duke the dog. It made our holiday that We could take our dog as well. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Best Stay

Had a great stay and holiday. The owner checked on us once when we came and a day later took us on a ride on his boat on the river. We had our privacy throughout our stay. House is big and comfortable with big fridge, no mobile connection helped as we could focus on relaxing. Will return soon.

Worst Holiday ever

Never stay at a place when the OWNER lives 100 meters away When booking our holiday I entered 4 adults and 2 children on the Stayz website, it gave me a quote. I changed the booking to 8 adults but there was no change in the price, so booked for the 4 adults and 2 children. On the first night my 3 adult children came down to stay for one night and when I returned from the river the owner was standing in the doorway obviously counting people. The kids went home the next day and had two other friends’ visit for the night, so while cooking breakfast (no decent pans for pancakes had to use the BBQ) he approaches me again and tells me I had more than I had booked, so I told him about the booking experience with Stayz. He wasn’t listening and told me there was an ATM in Renmark and I could pay him Cash This explained why he was so active on his motorbike around the house for most of our stay (only the 4 adults and 2 children remained, but he had to watch us). Then while we were going to the riverfront we drove past him and he waved and chased us down to the river to hassle me again about how many we booked. We felt very uneasy on our holiday due to his actions and paid him the gap even though the website doesn’t allow you to book different numbers of people for the nights we stayed and the quote didn’t change when I entered 8 people. When I paid and asked for a receipt he said he would bring it over in the morning, and even though he was 100 meters away he couldn’t manage to give us one within the 14 hours prior to our departure. So if you like being watched and rolling into the middle of the bed to be close to your loved ones, then this is the place to go.

Extremely clean and well appointed

Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the property we booked thinking we were staying in Renmark. It wasn't until directions were forwarded to us that we found out we were actully 30kms further on than Renmark. The bowling trip we were on was played over Berri, Renmark and Barmara. We got allocated Barmara so therefore a 120km round trip, so we found that inconvenient. Perhaps it should be mentioned on the booking site the house it actually 30 kms outside Renmark so people can make their own decisions. Nothing wrong at all with the house - wonderful! and Leith was very helpful so we did enjoy our time there.
