Host told us to cancel days before check-in. I reserved months in advance, got messages from the host thanking us for booking and requesting the payment. About a week before I sent some questions regarding the check-in process. My message went unanswered, so I wrote another message.This message was answered, telling us that the apartment was not available and we needed to cancel. I said that I was not comfortable cancelling, as it stated that I was past the date to reimbursement and that I didn't understand why she was only telling us this days before our arrival. I suggested she contact VRBO to sort out her error. She promised that we would be reimbursed, however this would still leave us without accommodation and with little available just three days before our trip. And I wasn't comfortable taking her word for it. I contacted VRBO, and thankfully they took great care of us and helped us find a replacement accommodation. I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism and poor communication of this host.
