Maravillosa casa de vacaciones en familia en la orilla del lago Michigan de Pier Cove. A solo dos horas de Chicago, esta espaciosa casa se encuentra a cinco millas al sur de Saugatuck / Douglas y diez millas al norte de South Haven, en la pintoresca Lakeshore Drive, en el corazón de la Art Coast de Michigans. Esta gran casa de campo restaurada de 1870, antigua y maravillosamente decorada, tiene capacidad para 8 adultos en 4 dormitorios. Tres habitaciones tienen camas queen, la cuarta habitación tiene gemelos. Además hay una guardería adjunta a la habitación más grande del segundo piso que tiene una cama doble, cuna completa y un juego de pak n, que acomodarán 1 bebé y 1 niño pequeño / niño para un máximo de 10 personas. La casa está equipada con aire acondicionado central y una chimenea de leña. La hermosa y amplia cocina comedor con isla de granito y electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable se abre a una terraza de madera para comer al aire libre / parrilla / cócteles / y observar el atardecer.
La cocina tiene 2 sillas altas y un asiento elevador también para los niños.
Hay una segunda cubierta grande en el acantilado sobre la playa con más asientos para disfrutar de las vistas del lago y el amanecer y puestas de sol. Este es un lugar encantador para tomar su café o bebida de la mañana.
Está a solo unos pasos de su playa privada (se proporcionan sillas de playa). Traiga sus toallas y juguetes para relajarse en el agua y la arena. Perfecto !! Además de jugar en la playa, la casa tiene un gran patio y está rodeada de bosques con senderos para caminar a lo largo de Pier Cove Ravine adyacente.

We were in town for a cousin reunion. Used this home to sleep and shower. Great location. Owner is sweet. Told us the home was built in 1870.

Wonderful place to stay

Great house - lots of character. Beds were comfortable, screened-in porch was a great place to watch the sunset, take a nap or read, well-stocked kitchen with everything you would need. Will definitely stay here again.

Perfect getaway!

My family and I stayed at the Gauntlet House to celebrate all of our May and June birthdays. We had a wonderful stay! Celeste and Dexter are wonderful hosts and their property is perfect. We will absolutely be back in the future!

Weekend Getaway

The house was perfect and we loved the location. Easy trips into Saugatuck and Holland for wine and beer tasting in the area. It was a great weekend for a group of adults.

Great place to relax

Loved our stay here. The beach was a three minute walk from the front door and a special mile walk through the forest in the back also allowed us to enjoy nature and relax. The house has everything you could want and the owners (who live next door) were warm and welcoming.

Wonderful long weeked getaway

Very nice older farm hose with plenty of space indoors and out. Loved the screened-in porch, back deck and functional kitchen. Entire family loved the private beach and deck overlooking the lake. Owners are exceptional people who helped enhance our stay.

Charming, yet modern farmhouse south of Saugatuck

Lovely old farmhouse with charm and modern conveniences. Fully stocked for whatever you would need. And even though there was only one shower, the additional enclosed, outdoor shower was a hit with our group! The beach was right across the street, a short walk down the stairs. Lovely sandy beach, but you might need water shoes as the shoreline is a bit rocky. Easy drive to Saugatuck, Holland, and South Haven.

Celeste always has the house sparkling when we arrive. Its very comfortable and we always enjoy our stay. The location is wonderful - able to see sunset from porch if we can't get down to beach to do so. The yard is great for the kids to play in too.

Comfortable old farm house with Lake Michigan access.

Easy access to Lake Michigan and sandy shore. large grassy yard where we played croquet and corn hole. Nicely updated old farm house, not fancy, but very comfortable.

Awesome Vacation Place on Lake Michigan.

A great place to spend a relaxing weekend get-away with friends and family. I enjoyed the sunset from the private deck and my son loved the beach. The mattresses were very comfortable so I had a great sleep at night. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. I will definitely revisit the place again. Thank you Celeste!

Great Family Vacation Spot!

Wonderful location for a vacation -- near Saugatuck but right on Lake Michigan! The private beach meant we could have fires (and smores!) on the beach at night. The water was lovely during our stay. We slept 9 comfortably; everyone was happy with their bedroom. We loved the outdoor shower, too! Had a great tour of Saugatuck Brewing Company from our host, Dexter. Amazing to be staying in such a historic home so beautifully updated.

We could not have asked for a better place.

The Gauntlett House exceeded our expectations. We loved the beautiful rooms and decor. My favorite place in the house was the screened in front porch where we could all enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. The palapa and hammocks were a favorite with the teenagers in our group not to mention the lovely beach. Thank you Celeste and Dexter. We plan on coming back.

Charming Pier Cove Farm House

The house is roomy and charming. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to prepare meals. We really enjoy the yard and deck for the kids playing and eating outside. The outdoor shower is a big hit with everyone after a day at the beach. The front porch is our favorite spot to hang out. Dexter and Celests go out of their way to make our stay lovely in every way. We love coming here!!! Great Location!

Fantastic family vacation spot

We stayed for a long weekend with 3 generations - ages 70+ to 7. Everyone had a great time. The house is even more charming in person than in the photos and there was more than enough room for everyone. The kitchen had everything we needed. We were in also in luck because a new deck had just been built overlooking the lake. It was a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Good restaurants are close enough, but the house provides the benefit of quiet with it's out of town location.

Relaxing!!!!

Great getaway! The front porch is amazing with a great view of the lake! The short stroll across the street to the beach was wonderfully convenient. Having your own private beach and deck equipped with chairs and umbrella was a real luxury! Watching the breathtaking sunsets by campfire on the beach makes for the best way to finish a day in the life at the Gauntlett house! Thank you, Dexter and Celeste

Charming and cozy

Our family had an amazing weekend at the Gauntlett house. Our party consisted of 8 people including our 3 year old. The house is very spacious, with a cozy atmosphere. A bonus was the nursery room off the master bedroom. We really enjoyed our little one having his own space. Celeste and Dexter were very welcoming and really went the extra mile to accomadate our family. We would definitely stay at this property again!

We did not want to leave💜

Just stayed at this lovely home for my son's wedding weekend in Saugatuck. The home is beautiful and the pics do not do it justice. Everything you need is there all you will need to bring is food, drink and your swimsuits☺ We had 2 deer visit us near the back porch, kids loved that and even though it rained most of our stay, we had a great time. Between the rain we did venture to the beach, a very short walk and you can see the lake from the front porch. Thank you Dexter and Celeste for a beautiful vacation retreat,we will be back!

Perfect place for our family!

Our family had a great time at the Gauntlett house! The house was charming, clean, very comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. The nursery/bedroom upstairs was perfect for the two kids and their parents. It was very nice to have the beautiful beach so close that we could walk back and forth with the little ones (1 yr. and 3 yrs.) and their sand toys without any trouble. A bonfire fire and S’mores at the beach one night was a definite highlight of the trip. Beautiful! We also really enjoyed the proximity to Saugatuck. Great little town.

Family Beach Vacation

My wife and her sister decided to have a joint family vacation. We researched most of the western Michigan coast before stumbling upon the Gauntlet House listing. This location ended up exceeding our expectations. The house is older, but equipped with modern kitchen/laundry appliances and air conditioning. Our kids especially enjoyed the option for indoor or the outdoor shower, after hours spent at the private beach. The location is perfect if you want to stay away from crowds, but also only few minutes from multiple activities and dining in Saugatuck/Douglas, Fennville, or Holland. Best family vacation we have ever planned.

The best vacation!

We just returned home after spending four nights at Celeste and Dexter's house and to say we had a great time is an understatement. The house is huge, even closer to the water than it looks in the photos, with a large backyard for the kids to run around. We had four adults, three toddlers, and a baby and had PLENTY of room. It was equipped with everything you would need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner. Celeste and Dexter live next door and are extremely helpful and friendly, and always available to answer any questions. The beach is clean and private, and like I said, very close to the house. We cannot recommend this house enough for your next vacation and will definitely be returning!

Comfortable home-like property

We just arrived home after a one week stay at Gauntlett House. The property was exactly as described in the listing. It is outfitted with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Plenty of space, nicely decorated and very well maintained. Owners were very friendly and helpful...next door just in case we needed anything, but definitely not intrusive. A great place for extended family/friend get away. There were seven in our group and we all had plenty of elbow room and private spaces. We loved boating around Saugatuck and to Holland. We used Tower Marina...ten minutes away and they offered weekly mooring rates. Lots of great shopping and restaurants nearby. We recommend the Saugatuck Dune Rides...a lot of fun! Thanks Celeste and Dexter for a lovely stay!

Perfect August week in Michigan!

We spent a week with family to end our summer and couldn’t have had a better time. The location of the property is perfect — you really can’t beat walking to your own private beach. The host helped us build a beach fire one night, and the kids loved it. Another night we had a pizza party on the deck while we watched the sunset. On a couple of overcast days, we drove I to town and hit up all the tourist spots, which everyone also loved. It was perfect to be close to town but still have our own private oasis. We have three young children and were joined for a few days by our brother and sister-in-law and their three young children — although It sounds like a recipe for chaos, this house actually allowed us to relax on vacation (we couldn’t believe it!). My daughter and I spent an hour each morning making friendship bracelets on the screened in porch, and we spent the rest of the day on the beach. Definitely plan to come back!

Kid and Baby Friendly

Its an old farmhouse with updated amenities. The downstairs was very friendly to the 3 year old, 14 month old, and 11 month old in our group. This was a huge benefit to us because we could be in the kitchen cooking and it was comfortable having the babies in the living room and letting them roam without worrying about their whereabouts. Celeste and Dexter, the owners, were very accommodating to our family and had pack-n-plays set up for us when we arrived and also made us a bonfire on the beach. The key points of the Gauntlett house were the screened in porch, outdoor shower, and private beach with cabana. It was also nice to have cable for the children to watch cartoons and a grill to barbecue several nights. I recommend this house for a large family seeking to relax both indoors and at the beach. The house is close to several towns with neat things to do like shopping, restaurants, and boat rentals. The money is well worth it!
