Beautiful house and wonderful views
Gorgeous and spacious house, our family had a wonderful time. The owner was very friendly and responsive to any question we had. Would definitely recommend this house if you are traveling to the area.
Very comfortable and well equipped
We are a family of 12 (7 adults and 5 kids) and we really enjoyed the house. Very well equipped and very comfortable for us.
There are some supermarkets near the house where to buy anything one needs. And although the house is not next to downtown, is approximately half an hour of it.
We also appreciate Elena´s permanent contact anytime we needed to consult about something.
Beautiful house & Beautiful view
This is the third time I stay at Elena's house and the three times was an excellent experience.
Although there was a construction next door, there was practically no noise and no dirt of any kind.
I strongly recommend this property for a peaceful days in Pacifica.
Thank you. I am glad that you and your group had agood time
Wonderful House, Exactly as Described
We had a wonderful stay, our family of eleven. The house was well-appointed and exactly as described. The location is very convenient--about 15 minutes to San Francisco, and about 30 minutes to downtown. We would stay here again when our need arises.
Thanks for renting my house.
I will recommend you to any other host
Spacious and convenient
Loved this property! It was private and quiet The beach was in walking distance for the kids. We had regular views of whales visiting the bay and as awesome options for restaurants. The Moonraker restaurant was an excellent location for the kids. It was like having a front row seat of the whales! This house was close enough to San Francisco to satisfy our sightseeing needs. We would use this location again! There is a house currently being built next to this one, but the construction noise did not detract from our experience
I hear about the whales from the local newspaper and some of my neighbors. Now, after your review, I really want ot see the whales.
I am glad that you and your family enjoyed the house and many thanks for taking care of the house. You are the perfect tenant !!!
Warning: Do not trust this owner
We booked this house for a family vacation. Elena called me on July 23rd to go over a couple of things about the house and everything seemed fine. She didn't mention that the vacant lot next door was under construction. When we arrived on Saturday the 29th, we could see the lot next door had changed. Monday morning, workers began showing up before 7 am. They brought with them lots of heavy equipment. The construction was extremely loud and shook the entire house. The workers parked in front of the house and frequently blocked the street with their trucks and equipment. It was also impossible to use the deck that looked out to the ocean.
I contacted Elena on Aug 1 to ask her about the construction and she said that it had started 2 weeks ago. I also contacted VRBO to ask them about their policy for construction next to rental properties (VRBO did not reply to my email until we had left Pacifica). Meanwhile, after explaining how disruptive the construction was she agreed to refund us the cost of one-night’s stay, which seemed fair. She even advised that she had notified her future tenants about the construction and gave them the opportunity to cancel the reservation.
Everything seemed fine until VRBO finally replied to my email on Aug 7. They advised that they had recorded my question as a “formal complaint” and forwarded the complaint to the owner. After that email, there was no contact from Elena and no refund in the mail. I emailed Elena on Aug 14 and asked if she had sent the refund. She did not reply. I called her on Aug 16 and she told me that we did not deserve a refund because we have filed a complaint against her. She also said that we were “annoying” while we stayed in the house. I explained that my email to VRBO was merely a question and I sent her copy of the email to prove it to her. We agreed that I would call her back after I sent the email. When I called her back an hour later, no reply. She never called me back.
On Aug 17, I called VRBO to explain the situation. The customer service representative told me that on Aug 9, after they had notified Elena about the “formal complaint”, Elena told them that she was going to issue me a refund of 1-night’s stay. He reviewed my first email to VRBO & stated that it clearly was not a complaint and apologized that VRBO had basically caused this issue. As I write this review, she still hasn't changed the first photo of the house to show the construction. VRBO will confirm all of this.
The traveler gave me a very hard time during his stay. I did everything to handle his complains, I called the general contractor and the owners but at the end I don’t have control of what happened in the street or in my neighborhood. After his stay, I stayed in the house two nights to see how bad the situation was. Of course, the noise of the workers talking plus the truck traffic but when you enter in the house, you can’t hear anything.
I had two tenants before his stay and many tenants after him that weren’t bother with the construction and they gave me great reviews.
The price that he paid to bring all his family and his relatives is FAIR. He is just trying to take advantage of the situation
