The cabin was very clean. The room décor is awesome. The cabin rooms are arranged very well. The view from the room is great. The property is well kept. The hot tub is awesome. It was a little difficult to locate but with our Garmin we were able to find it.

Communication
The property is beautiful!! However, the host were condescending, rude, and disrespectful. I filed a formal complaint with VRBO but the property is breath taking. I’m not sure if I received the treatment I did because I am a Southern Black woman but I received no hospitality on my stay.

WOW. I guess by trying to play the undocumented and unsubstantiated race card, you can try to distract from the real facts. But first you should know that the closest friend I have in my life and the man I give credit to for me being a member of the US Olympic Team as well as my second father is a black man, so let's not go there. I am in total disbelief VRBO even let you go there. Next you should know that we have had guests from over 20 countries around the world of nearly every religion and every skin color and have always welcomed them with open arms as you were as can be seen in all the communications via VRBO (10 email exchanges) and 16 texts exchanged prior to your arrival. The facts, 1 we live onsite so a knock on the door, a phone call, a text or email were all known options for you if you had questions or problems, 2 there is an instruction sheet in the cabin asking not to use wash cloths or towels as rags, 3 you never bothered to contact us with any questions or concerns while here, 4 upon your departure we found 2 wash cloths and 1 hand towel outside by the grill, later we also found 1 wash cloth and 2 hand towels in the cabin, all soiled with grease and ruined, a $90 value. So, when my wife asked what you were thinking by doing this, it wasn't condescending, rude or disrespectful, you chose to ruin those items without ever contacting us, giving us an opportunity to quickly and properly resolve your issue. "Communication"?
Pros: Kind people. We forgot to pack dinner plates and utensils and they immediately provided. Cobi, their dog, is so sweet. Quick response from owner. Beautiful view. Clean. Great to wake up to the sound of the river.
Con: The hot tub was at 94 degrees and didn't get much hotter. It's not very private. The owner lives next door. Felt like staying at the in-laws. Squeaky bed.

Gorgeous cabins steps from the south fork of the Rio Grande river
What a joy to experience this beautiful enclave of hand-built cabins, steps from the Rio Grande river in South Fork, Colorado. Paula and Fritz went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. They are so welcoming, and love to share their favorite local spots as well as answering any questions about how they constructed their cabins. We chose to spend a day driving the amazing Silver Thread Scenic Byway after exploring the beginning of the Bachelor Loop in Creede, one day spent reading and relaxing by the river, and two days hiking various nearby trails. The property is perfectly situated for a quiet getaway, while still being minutes from outdoor adventures, lots of wildlife, and several restaurants. The town of Creede is only about an hour’s scenic drive and has a super Visitor’s Center, plenty of restaurants, a theater, and the start of the Bachelor Loop historic mining self-guided tour.
We stayed in the charming Guest Cabin and were lulled to sleep by the sound of the river only 10 feet from our window. The cabin had a beautiful wooden sleigh bed, extremely comfortable with high-quality pillows and Egyptian cotton sheets; two leather armchairs great for relaxing and reading by the little gas stove; a mini fridge and coffee maker with creamers and coffee provided; plenty of closet space; a full bathroom with instant-on hot water, nice fixtures, and a hand-crafted tin mirror. There were lovely details everywhere, from the hand-carved colorful masks, to beautiful decorative textiles, and even small sculptures on the window ledges. There is a communal fire pit with views of the river, and a separate seating area with table and chiminea for the Guest Cabin. We enjoyed starting out one cool, crisp Autumn morning with a dip in the hot tub set on a deck surrounded by tall pines. If weather and schedules permit, there are also inflatable kayaks for guests. Paula and Fritz provide so many extras to ensure a fabulous stay--flip a light switch for twinkle lights on the outside eaves of each cabin, there is plenty of wood for the fire pit or chiminea, a hammock, tables and outside seating, even a rope swing on the property! If you're fortunate you might have the pleasure of playing with their pet dog Kenai and pet cat Lucky.
We look forward to returning to Riverside Meadows Cabins and highly recommend this wonderful vacation property.

Our cabin by the river was indeed feet from the river, and the view was beautiful. The cabin was fine for an overnight stay, and would have been for a longer visit. The weather was chilly overnight and we did not attempt to use the outdoor patio, BBQ or river travel.
The host got us settled in comfortably and we left the next day before seeing anyone about.
The one thing to be aware of is this was booked from Expedia, through "VRBO" and some of the notices we got on the property were a bit confusing in terms of names. We thought we were closer to Del Norte, CO, but this cabin is definitely in South Fork, with has fewer dining options, if thats important.
Looks like a fun place to stay in the summer when the river could be enjoyed more.
We stayed here only one night on our way through the area, and wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin looks new and clean and is creatively furnished with unique items. Highly recommend.

Hidden gem! The studio was perfect for me and the hubby. VERY clean. Wish it wld hv had a microwave. Customer service was good and very friendly. Being next to the river was the selling point. Wld stay again.
Our cabin was very clean and right on the river with excellent views. Fritz was an outstanding host. He made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful day kayaking on the river, which Fritz organized. Would absolutely recommend this cabin for a couples getaway.
Amazing location on the river & I was not ready to leave my little corner of nature. Beautiful cabin. The owners are very friendly. Beautiful decor! I can tell a lot of attention to detail. Thank you! The Howards
My boyfriend and I stayed in the guest cabin this past weekend and had a wonderful experience! The cabin sits right on the Rio Grande River and it was absolutely beautiful to wake up to in the morning. Fritz and Paula were so nice and accommodating - they even took us up the river to drop us off with the kayaks. Cabin was cute, clean, and spacious for 2 people. Highly recommend!

Stayed 5 nights in the guest cabin. Gorgeous setting a few yards from the river. Cabin is beautifully appointed; the hosts were extremely gracious and hospitable. The float trip is definitely worth doing. Highly recommended!
