Nohea is a new gated community offering exclusivity, and privacy with new construction, Bali-inspired designs and unbelievable views. The development is located between remnants of ancient civilization and world class golf courses, all steps from the breathtaking coastline. Nohea guests enjoy exclusive access to the development's private amenity centre including a saltwater swimming pool & spa, fitness centre, large gathering spaces and also includes exclusive access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club at Makaewa Bay. The list goes on and on for this spectacular property. Within a 5 minute walk to the recently renovated Mauna Lani Auberge Hotel, and nearby Fairmont Orchid, walking distance to The Shops of Mauna Lani and Tommy Bahama restaurant, bars and great local grocery stores. And just steps steps from the ocean, this location can’t be beat.
The house was designed by a renowned architect Craig Monaghan and designer Rick Oliver who have won multiple design awards. Hand plastered walls, imported tiles, mahogany trim. Sliding doors on both the front and back of the house allow the warm Hawaii winds to sweep in, and for the ultimate indoor-outdoor living experience. Chef’s kitchen with professional Wolfe gas range, Miele built in coffee center, pantry, Sub Zero refrigeration and wine fridges. Outdoor and indoor dining options for the whole family or couples retreat.
The house boasts three large bedrooms, all with California king beds and en-suite washrooms. One detached guest suite features additional privacy. Master bedroom sure to impress with his and hers sinks and toilets, outdoor shower and soaker tub, walk in closets and wet bar. Additional bedroom / office is perfect for your extra guests or for working remotely.
The outdoor space backs onto the Mauna Lani South Course. Complete outdoor cooking area with BBQ and pavilion, pool and waterfall edge spa with custom built reading nook, lounge chairs in the swimming pool wet deck and multiple seating options. The pool and patio areas have full sun to enjoy in this spectacular micro climate of Kamuela - where it hardly ever rains. Another phenomenal time at this property

This was the second stay at this property. It has the perfect kitchen, plenty of space for three couples, and the property is stunning. We will be back again next year.

Fantastic home, perfect for our family of 5 and our mother in law. Pool was perfect for our young kids. Check in and etc. was easy - Lisette was just a call or text away and was very responsive. Close to shops/grocery store too. Probably my favorite rental ever! Thanks for the great stay, we hope to come again!

The house is absolutely beautiful, warmly decorated and the proximity to the Mona Lani was wonderful. We used the beach club facilities as well as the hotel beach. The kitchen had everything, including three different kinds of coffee makers. It’s clear that this is a home that is loved and used by the owners at least part of the time, so be amenities were truly wonderful. Lissette was incredibly responsive. We loved using the bikes. Our teens spent a lot of time lounging around in the pool. Highly highly recommend!

Amazing Property in Kona

My wife and two young children (9 &11) stayed at this property with my mother in law for 7 days in April. The property is amazing, incredible design throughout, huge kitchen, pool and hot tub area was spot on. Property also has bikes, beach & snorkel stuff for the entire family. Bedrooms are super nice and well furnished. Management was super responsive in every way and even stopped by to provide something we needed.We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend!

Wonderful stay with family

Great Property!

This was the best VRBO that we’ve stayed in. We had 6 adults and a 2 year old. We never felt that the house was too small. Every couple was able to find their own space. The kitchen is fantastic! The pool area was great, and was where we spent most of our time. The property manager was very responsive to questions.

Excellent Villa

The villa was by far the best we have ever stayed in. Our chef loved the kitchen, pantry and the vast number of plates, cups, utensils, etc. as well as the proximity to the outside table area. Property manager and owners we fantastic to work with. Highly recommend this villa.

May Family Visit to Big Island

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful home with all the amenities a home could offer. The house was beautiful and we loved everything about it and will definitely come back. We are sad to leave tonight but will look forward to another lovely stay here.

Great property, beautiful kitchen with top of the line appliances and wonderful amenities. Just note it’s only 3 bedrooms, the 4th area isn’t a room. Thankfully we didn’t need it and used the area to fold laundry.

Amazing month long vacation in Paradise

The home was perfect in every-way. Well stocked kitchen, the beds were super comfy, very clean, lots of TV's and close to everything!! Within five minutes you can be at the grocery store or the beach or golfing!! Excellent restaurant choices within a 10-30 minute drive. We spent most of our time outside on the patio or in the pool. Loved the TV outside on the back patio. Lissette, the property manager, was easily accessible via texting. No major issues during our stay. We have rented homes on the Hawaiian Islands for 10 years and this by far was the best home and location!! Luxury and location!! Well worth the money.

Beautiful home near beach and restaurants

This house is beautiful and well decorated. The kitchen is a dream and the master suite is fabulous. We enjoyed the pool and the nearby beach. We rented some golf carts and I would highly recommend doing that. It made getting to the beach and shops fun and easy. The neighborhood isn't built out yet, there are just a few house and a lot of open lots. But, that didn't detract from our experience at all. The host was helpful and very responsive. The 4th room (or small room) is very small and the bath that connects to it doesn't have a shower, so it was a bit of a challenge for our 4 couples. But, there is plenty of other space in the house. so the couple staying there didn't spend too much time in the room. Overall loved it and would love to go back.

Unbelievably Nice! Great Place to Stay!!

Our stay was amazing! I would give more stars if possible. House was first class, beautiful and CLEAN (always important with a VRBO). Everything you could need or want in the kitchen (great appliances, coffee maker, and TONS of glassware), beds were super comfy, and overall the house is amazing. We had a family of 5 and it was perfect. My wife and I both commented that it would be a great house for a couples vacation as well with plenty of privacy and room to roam for up to 3 couples. Pool/BBQ area were great. We had sun around the pool everyday. Pool is heated and the kids never wanted to get out. Highly recommend to anybody that wants to rent. I would recommend renting a golf cart for your stay as that is the best way (and most fun with kids) to get to and from the resort and around the area. Buy your groceries at Costco as the local grocery stores are expensive. Can't wait to come back!!!

Special house in a special place

We booked this beautiful home for a special family vacation (80th birthday for dad; 54th wedding anniversary for mom & dad). There were 7 of us and the house was perfect for our needs. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious (each with their own spacious bathroom), the kitchen was perfectly supplied, the pool just what we needed on a hot summer day and the living areas allowed for a lot of family game time, reading and hanging. Access to the Mauna Lani beach club was key and it's a terrific snorkeling beach - very clear and easy to swim in. We rented a golf cart for the week which was also a terrific way to get around the resort without having to get into our car. Communication with the owner was delightful - she was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions about the house. The onsite property manager was also fantastic and attentive. The house and its interior design is so nice and beautiful - we spent most nights cooking in the gourmet kitchen, listening to music and then playing card games before turning in each night. Worth the splurge and SO much better than getting multiple rooms at a resort. Thanks Julia and Lizzette - we made some special memories here and will never forget them. Mahalo!!

The Perfect Home For a Special Hawaiian Island Vacation!

We had an incredible 5 night stay at this house for our honeymoon at the end of September. Lisette (property manager) and the owners provided great communication leading up to the stay, so we knew exactly what to expect upon arrival. Having stayed at a few luxury rentals before, this one far exceeded expectations based on our other experiences. This truly felt like a dream vacation home complete with high end finishes, custom designer furniture, wood vaulted ceilings, chef’s kitchen and moveable glass partitions that allowed the living room to transform into an open air cabana! The house really felt special and has a modern Hawaiian look and feel. The outdoor amenities features a private pool that was cleaned regularly (twice during our stay), hot tub, bbq area, and even an outdoor shower area! The neighbourhood is quiet with plenty of nearby amenities, including a local grocery store. The house provides many things to create your own enjoyable experience, the snorkel equipment, beach towels, and the complimentary luxury toiletries (body wash, shampoo/conditioner) were some of our favourite touches. The house provides access to a private beach club & we used it everyday during our stay to relax on the beach, to snorkel (even saw a green sea turtle there!) and to walk the shoreline trails. We look forward to returning to this place some day and would highly recommend this place to couples/groups/ families looking for a relaxing, special vacation on the Big Island!!

Great spring break getaway with grandkids

Had a lovely time with the grandkids! This is 2nd time we’ve done a VRBO @Mauna Lani. The house is beautiful. Great open-air concept onto gorgeous back yard with large pool, hot tub, outdoor entertainment area. We didn’t use grill or entertainment area, but kids had a great time in the pool when we were at the house. Also the koi pond in the front courtyard is a lovely touch & the younger kids were fascinated watching the fish. The house is very well-maintained and everything seemed to be in great condition. We love this area as it’s close to the Auberge & the Fairmont both of which have great restaurants and the Auberge has lovely grounds, a public beach, and other amenities. The Mauna Lani Beach Club is a nice amenity and the Napua restaurant has great food and service. We found boogie boards and beach chairs that worked great for our trip to the Beach Club. We ended up making a trip to Walmart to buy some pool toys and snorkel stuff for the kids bc there wasn’t anything here (except 2 snorkel sets that were too big for all of us), but other than that, the house was fully stocked, including bicycles & a few other things we didn’t end up using. The pantry was also well stocked with all the basics (not always the case w/VRBOs) and thankfully more than enough towels for 5 ppl swimming & showering 2x/day. The large capacity washer/dryer came in handy bc we ended up having to wash towels & clothes mid-week. I’m sure we will be back again!

Hawaiian dream hideaway

Firstly the house itself is absolutely exquisite! The architecture and wood work are majestic. The decor is reminiscent of old Hawaii, charming yet luxurious. My daughter immediately declared it to be her dream house … Moana’s palace apparently …. The property changed ownership a few weeks before our vacation but much to our relief the new owners immediately contacted us to advise they would honor our booking albeit with a slight price increase in the daily rate and cleaning charge. Pros Welcome - personal touch - new Owners left a hand written welcome note and box of delicious cookies. Lisette the property manager was excellent . She was very knowledgeable and pleasant ; always made herself available via phone and in person when needed. She was quick to respond to my numerous questions and concerns when they arose. Location - It is tucked away in a quiet exclusive neighborhood with a security gate. A quick 5 minute drive to the beach via car or 10 mins via golfcart ( I highly recommend arranging for hire before arrival ) nestled in between two great resorts - mauna lani and fairmont orchid offering some of the finest dining on the island. Koi pond - entertained my kids for hours ! Cons - Unfortunately there are no views from the outdoor area . Some nice foliage but it’s completely enclosed. we had been spoilt by an ocean view in the property we had just moved over from so we were a little disappointed. Pool - and here lies my main reason for the less than 5 star review. The pool was constantly dirty. This was due in part to a tree that was shedding and possibly due to the age of the pool - but the filtering system didn’t seem to work well and there was algae on the pool steps etc The property manager did her best by ordering extra cleaning of the pool but the issue persisted . Cleaning charge - please be aware that you will be required to launder your towels , pull sheets off bed etc prior to departure. A list is provided to you upon check in. I was initially surprised by what I thought to be a lengthy list especially as I had paid a $500 cleaning fee. To be fair most of it covered common courtesy items that we would have done anyway ( considering it is a private home not a hotel ). I think it would be better if this was communicated upon booking so people know what is expected of them. All in all I would highly recommend this property !!! The house is a unique experience all in itself .

Wonderful stay

This home served as the perfect location to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday. It even provided some amazing views of lava and how it illuminated the night and early morning sky from the recent eruption. We had a magical stay with prompt attention to any of our needs.
