As a local professional visiting from Oahu to support the schools, and overall this place might do in a pinch, but overall there were some concerns to be noted. Safety & Communication: There was a power outage at 11 PM, I tried to call the host, to ask where the extra power or emergency lighting were, as the batteries in the flashlights provided by the cabin, were dead. The host hung up on me. When I called back, I was told to "survive on my own" or like a 'just go to bed vibe'. There is no cell service at the cabin, making a blackout a genuine safety concern.Hygiene & Condition: The property is a little dated but works. A couple noticable things, the shower curtain was rusty, and the Teflon is peeling off the cookware. There is a stove which is nice, but again, dated. Misleading Location: The cabin is next to a house or backyard unit, with a road next to it. Conduct: The host’s attitude was dismissive and rude. For the high price charged, the lack of basic amenities (like a water filter or working batteries) is unacceptable, and kind of killed the vibe of the cabin.Overal the cabin is cute, and it is always beautiful to stay within the fern forest, but I would recommend finding a host who treats guests with basic courtesy in times of need.
