This was the most amazing VRBO yet! The host was eager to help in any way possible, and was very easy to communicate with. The house itself was so comfortable and clean. The pool house was NEXT level! Our children and grandchildren were in that pool all day. The outdoor kitchen was magazine beautiful. Great family reunion

We had a group of 18 from ages 3 to 80 for a family reunion and this place was perfect. Wonderful activities and enough indoor gathering spots for large groups and small. We has very hot weather and rainy days and the facilities could deal with both extremes. The owner is wonderful to work with and very responsive.

We had a family gathering with 21 people from ages of 1 month to 81 years, and the property provided absolutely everything we needed! The home and adjacent pavilion/pool was extremely clean and very useful and fun! The pizza oven is a must do and we were able to make 18 fantastic and delicious make your own pizzas one evening. The upstairs game room was especially fun and entertaining for our family. I can't say enough how responsive and caring the owners were with the lead up and time of our stay at Hudson Hideaway. My family will definitely be looking to spend time together at this "personal resort" in the near future.

Fabulous stay

We had a fabulous time staying at the property. The game room and karaoke setup was amazing. Enjoyed cooking pizza and the outdoor kitchen. Will definitely look to book again.

Fun-filled space

Went with a family of 15 people, ranging in ages from 9 through 87. Everyone found something to do, whether inside, outside, or sort of in between on the covered porches. We went in the winter, so we didn’t make use of the pool or the river, but are hoping to return to do so.The owner is unbelievably responsive and so organized. We absolutely loved communicating with him. While the house is listed as a five bath, one of those is in the pool house, only accessible in the warmer months, so that was unexpected. Jody , the owner, says that he is planning to add at least one more bathroom, so keep an eye out for that! We can’t wait to come back. *note- there are a few steps in the house, so for someone with mobility issues it might be a little tricky to use the game room or lower bedrooms.

Birthday Weekend Away

We stayed at this property for a weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was perfect for this! The house comfortably accommodated 20 of us- both couples and non couples. We enjoyed having fun on the karaoke stage and relaxing in the hot tub. The kitchen was perfect for a big dinner.We drove about 40 minutes to Windham Mountain for snow tubing which was a convenient day trip. Some people stayed back just because the house was too nice to leave.The host Jody was extremely helpful, flexible, and reachable. I highly reccommend this property and will likely be back in the future.

Love the Hudson Hideaway!!!

This past November was the 2nd year in a row that my entire family spent a long weekend at Jody’s beautiful and massive house. My family is full of children and young adults of all ages and Jody’s place has something for everyone to enjoy. The house itself is cozy with plenty of bedrooms throughout to accommodate a large group comfortably and the living room, dining room, and dens were great spaces for our family to connect over meals, play games and just talk and laugh. The game room and karaoke stage is always a hit and kept the adults singing into the wee hours of the night. The outside of the house is what I love and enjoy the most. We were blessed with sunny and above average temps for fall in upstate NY to get the entire family outside and playing volleyball, pickleball, soccer, football, wiffleball, or just watching the hawks flying in the sky and the beautiful Hudson River and landscape in the back. I can go on and on about all the things we enjoy about our time here but I’ll sum it all up by saying Jody’s house gives my entire family a place to unplug from devices and our hectic city lives and time to talk, play, laugh, to make many memories and to feel blessed that we have each other and this annual tradition to look forward to each year. Major plus is that Jody is an incredible host, gives you every bit of information needed to enjoy everything inside and out and is super accessible if needed. He keeps the house clean and in top working order…amazing!

Lovely Site for Company Retreat

Amazing property for a large group!

I came to this house as a retreat for my school organization and we couldn’t have picked a better property! It had all the games we could ever want to play, both indoor and outdoor, we had the best time doing karaoke, and the kitchen/outdoor area was perfect for our cookout and making all our other meals! I would love to return again and would highly recommend this house to others!

Stellar property and outstanding host

I booked this Vrbo for myself and some friends for a birthday party. The listing looked unbelievable, with so many activities, so it was a clear choice. And my actual experience far exceeded my expectations. The property was stunning, had more activities than advertised, had comfortable accommodations - they really thought of everything! Each guest was blown away by the place. On top of that, Jody was the perfect host! We had been in touch for many weeks leading to the event, and he was always so responsive to my texts and calls. He even bought a tug-of-war rope for use after I asked him if he had one or not. On day of check-in, he gave me a thorough walk-through over the phone, and remained highly responsive throughout the visit. I cannot recommend this property enough - it will make for an unforgettable visit!

Perfect getaway with no need to leave the property!

Jody’s place was an absolute dream for our group of 24. No shortage of activities, games, and vibes. Not to mention, Jody was the perfect host - giving us a virtual tour of the property to kickoff our stay, and checking in throughout to ensure we had what we needed. I would return in a heartbeat!

Whole family LOVED this place!

We had large family reunion with primary focus of celebrating a special birthday. Everyone loved the place - the rooms, the pavilion, pools, huge variety of games (high quality picketball court!), kitchen. The location was perfect. A great getaway place for a group/family and we are already talking about another visit. Place is very suitable for larger groups (we maxed out) because of the variety of places for people to gather in small-large groups, and the game room easily accommodated us all. The host was very responsive giving us the right amount of info and was readily accessible for questions. We were very grateful for discovering this place.

Perfect spot for a girls weekend

We had a group of 19 people stay at this amazing property. The house is even better in person than it is on the listing. We took advantage of all the amenities like the pizza oven, karaoke, the grill and fire pit. The backyard is incredible, perfect for running around and playing games. The pool really takes the house to the next level and is so nice. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably. And the close proximity to a grocery store, pharmacy, liquor store was a plus. Jody was easy to get in touch with and super responsive to any questions during our stay. My girlfriends and I are already talking about returning next summer. I would highly recommend this property!!!! Thank you, Jody!

Great spot for a family getaway

We had a group of 20 family members stay at this home for a weekend. Jody was so informative and accommodating, answering all our questions and making sure we had a great time. The house was large and well kept with plenty of bedroom options and hang out spaces for our group. We enjoyed the game room, large kitchen for family meals, and patio with fire pits. Would recommend this property for large groups.

New Years Eve weekend

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hudson Hideaway! The booking process was seamless and the owners were super responsive, helpful, and did all they could to ensure we had the best experience. The house is endless and plenty of space for everyone. Plenty of indoor and outdoor entertainment. Pizza night was an absolute blast with numerous outside fire place areas. The house was very clean and well appointed. The river access is great and we would love to come back when the pool and pavilion projects are completed! A definite do again!

Best Rental Property Ever!

The Hudson Hideaway was by far one of the best properties I have ever rented. Jody is incomparable with the amount of detailed information and thoughtfulness that he put into the property. He thinks of everything you need before you know you need it! The pictures don't even do justice to the amount of space in the house and the beauty of the grounds. We were a group of about 17 adults and had plenty of room for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. Jody was always quickly available and happy to help with any questions we had or issues that came up. Cannot wait to come back!

I am 62 yrs old, married for over 30 years and have three beautiful daughters. I grew up in Brooklyn NY, went to John Dewey High School and Florida Institute of Technology for training in aviation and air commerce. I am CEO of United Software Developers and my wife works with SNAP, Inc running a program that finds volunteers to help and spend time with isolated Senior Citizens.

People ask why I rent the house out. With the kids grown, going to college, we just do not use the home as much anymore. I now love to have other families enjoy our home as much as we do. It also helps with the 3 current college tuitions......

I have a lot of family that lives in the Tri-State area and with homes right on top of each other, I wanted a home where our very large extended family can spend many family gatherings together with room to spare. I was very fortunate to find the perfect house only 2 hours away from NYC. The many years of family get togethers and watching my nieces, nephews, cousins grow so close to each other is just priceless !!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I immediately fell in love with this home when I saw the 3.5 acres of flat open land was in the backyard with a private sandy beach on the Hudson River where you can swim in fresh water. It did not take long before the fire pits were built for the countless outdoor barn fires, smores and spooky stories. With so much open space there was no reason NOT to add the batting cage, volleyball, play ground, game room, karaoke stage, surround sound systems. To be able to hang out with my adult friends and family and all the kids NOT wanting to leave because they are bored has made everything we did so worth it.

I just love it when I hear the kids begging their parents to stay longer.
