We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was peaceful and had everything we needed for our family of 3. The sauna was great and we’d love to come back in the winter!
This home exceeded our expectations in every way — stunning views, thoughtful amenities, and endless opportunities for adventure. We (and our pups) absolutely loved our time here. The location is perfect, with easy access to FairPlay, Alma, and some of the most beautiful hiking trails and wildlife sightings we've experienced. The home was spotless upon arrival and even ready for an early check-in, which was a pleasant surprise. SHVR’s communication and hospitality were top-notch — truly the best we've encountered. We can’t recommend Gold Trail Retreat highly enough!
Great property! Awesome place for friends and family to get away from the city!

Great cabin in a quiet and peaceful location with an amazing barrel sauna!
We had an incredible weekend relaxing at Gold Trail Retreat. A quiet and peaceful location deep in the woods that is fully stocked with everything we needed including foosball for the kids and an amazing outdoor cedar barrel sauna. Great deck for grilling and relaxing. Close to hiking trails, fishing, four wheeling and 10 minutes to town.

Awesome vacation spot
We enjoyed the cabin. It was very clean and well stocked with plenty of essentials that we needed. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room to spread out throughout the cabin. We would definitely select this cabin again. The rating button is not working but I would give this cabin a 5 star rating.

Great getaway!!
We had such a great time at this cabin! The kids loved playing outside and we enjoyed the sauna at night! We realized it takes about an hour to warm up, so we started it right before dinner and it was ready when we were done. We also had moose and deer walk right through the property!! We will definitely be back!!
The property was as expected, we enjoyed the open space in the home and the supplies provided in the Kitchen to make great meals. There's a grill outside and plenty of pots, pans and dishes for you to use. The drive up and down can be challenging due to the condition of the road, you'll definitely want something that can handle the bumps.

Thank you for choosing to stay in our home Kory. The road leading up is a maintain dirt road and can definitely get a bit bumpy at times. We drive on Mountain time around here to account for having to go a bit slower for the short drive from the hwy to our homes!
As a family we love secluded cabins and this one has been by far the best one! We are from Texas so we wanted to get away and experience the snow and this cabin and area did not disappoint. The only issue we had was a little bit of altitude sickness so we recommend to hydrate and maybe purchase some supplemental oxygen if you are prone to altitude sickness. It was also the perfect distance to Breckenridge.
We will definitely be coming back.

Me and my family had a blast days at this house, we luck to see snow dropping.
The house very comfortable, nice and clean everything you need has in the house.
Just make sure to get a 4wd car in winter time, it's one hour drive from attractions.
I definitely will back to stay in the same house.

Great mountain getaway!
We recently stayed at Gold Trail Retreat and it was an incredible experience. The location was perfect, nestled in the trees with stunning views of the surrounding peaks. The house itself was modern, well-appointed and spacious, with comfortable furnishings and all the amenities needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
The outdoor spaces were the highlight of the rental, with a large deck that was perfect for taking in the mountain scenery and a great cedar barrel sauna that was the perfect way to unwind after a day of skiing at Breckenridge. The nearby trails were fantastic for snowshoeing in the woods.
I would highly recommend this mountain house rental to anyone looking for a serene and peaceful escape in the mountains away from the crowds.
Its not wort if you are trying to get some decent vacation. There are better options than this.

We're very sorry to hear the property didn't match your expectations. We believe the listing clearly matches the property and many other guests have had fantastic experiences here. We wish you could have contacted us with any issues so we would have had the opportunity to resolve things and make the place more enjoyable for your stay.
The place was great overall. However, it was difficult to get to the real property without calling the owner. Additionally, one of my guests forgot her necklace inside the cabin which she has not got back yet although the property owner says s/he has mailed the said item in an envelope. Granted, we should have been more careful but the same holds true when mailing it. Finally, the place could use some extra indoor and outdoor sports such as pool house and maybe a playground outside but it wasn’t bad without them either. Also, very important to note is the access road is all unpaved for couple of miles so it’s better to be prepared for that.
First, the cabin is just wonderful. Great layout and plenty of space. We stayed there and drove about forty minutes to Breckenridge to ski daily. There is a cute wood burning fireplace, washing machine and full kitchen. There are some things to consider if you use this cabin in the winter. You absolutely need chains for your tires and a SUV type vehicle with all wheel drive. The route up to the cabin was icy and full of snow. The elevation is really a factor. It took a couple days to get used to it. The walk up to the cabin in the snow from the car might not be for everyone. The sauna really didn't heat up because it was just too cold outside. The toilet downstairs was a little bit quirky. I say all of that in full disclosure but it was absolutely great. We would definitely stay there again. I loved having the space, privacy, and avoiding the ski crowd in town.

Delia, thank you for stay with us! We are delighted that you enjoyed the cabin. We are glad that you ended up adjusting to the elevation that can sometimes be a hard adjustment and we are glad that you were safe with the winter weather. Thank you for providing the feedback on the sauna and the toilet upstairs, thank you for bringing it to our attention so we can take a look at both things.
It was always a nice drive to and from the property. Everyday we would come across some moose. The travel time from the start of the community to the home was about 15 mins even with icy and or nonplowed road conditions. Thankfully our AWD vehicle was equipped with snow tires and made the commute manageable especially when some parts of the road weren't plowed yet. Communte to the Fairplay was about 10 mins to include the grocery store.
The home's elevation was 11,500 ft, so drink plenty of water, take that first day to adjust to it, and bring some symptom relieving meds to enjoy your stay. I would've appreciated if there was a portable humidifier in the home (other than the sauna) for guest that are not used to the dry climate. Home was very clean and spacious. Kitchen is equipped with plenty cooking appliances. The King bed in the main bedroom was rather comfy. Overall, I would recommend staying in this home in the Winter or Summer!

Gold Trail Retreat above Fairplay
the place was great and our extended family really enjoyed it. A couple of your employees, whose names I unfortunately can't recall, stopped by to bring us some sheets on the night of the 17th and were very generous with advice about local activities; super nice, we really appreciated it. I hope everything stays cool in Moldova for the fiance of one of you - we enjoyed chatting with both of you guys.
Most of our party grew up in CO and some still live there. We get together in the Mountains almost every summer somewhere between Hoosier Pass and Salida and will certainly check out Second Home's listings for next summer.
We're having a problem with the billing, which I believe to be the fault of airbnb, and Angela has put in a ticket with airbnb to try and get that resolved. We signed for an "early season rate" of $167/night, but were invoiced $213/night. According to Angela, there isn't any early season rate in July, but that's what we were offered and signed up to, ref. the screenshots I emailed. BTW, if I go to your airbnb page right this minute I see "EARLY SUMMER SEASON SPECIAL PRICING - Gold Trail" https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/29917684?adults=6&children=2&check_in=2022-08-01&federated_search_id=4eb5d36e-79c4-4470-9f78-e3d4276cbb5a&source_impression_id=p3_1658618530_lmW70VIBmUWudbPy&guests=1&check_out=2022-08-05
although the rate is not $167. anymore, airbnb does not seem to understand that it's not early season to you anymore.
This is a nice secluded cabin that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The road to the cabin is a bit hard so make sure to proper vehicle.

We had a great time at the cabin in Fairplay, Colorado we rented through VRBO! Everything in the cabin was perfect and to our liking! The cabin was secluded enough that we had privacy. We will be renting another place from VRBO the next time we want to get away!
