The area is a popular hiking and climbing location. There are five "fourteeners" within about 20 minutes of the home- Mount Sherman, Mount Lincoln, Mount Democrat, Mount Bross, and Mount Quandary. There are multiple old mines along many of the hiking trails going up the 14ers. The cabin is about 20 miles south of Breckenridge and within an hour of numerous white water rafting launching points.
