5 stars BUT:Beautiful oceanfront house and location. Some issues.1. Each individual room needs a lock so that when you leave the room, it's fully locked. There is increasing crime in Tamarindo and Langosta, and this is a must. 2 of the other houses I stayed in built by the exact same builder had external locks to protect the rooms. This is a cheap, necessary addition 2. Before I rent this house again, I'm going to make sure all of the mini split ACs' filters are cleaned and the condensate lines are drained. The air in 3 of the bedrooms was musty at times--which is a separate issue from Costa Rica's humidity--and this would easily fixed by weekly cleaning of the mini splits 3. There were multiple small issues which indicated a lack of a quality check prior to our check in. The mini split in the kitchen was malfunctioning, one of the dressers in the rooms was totally out of level which caused the drawers to remain open, and the bed in one of the bedrooms was falling off the frame. That same bed was made up of 2 doubles that were not well joined and uncomfortable to sleep on. For this price, the house needs to be flawless.4. The listing mentions "parking available", which is true, but the listing should really say "no garage parking". Every other house I've stayed in in Langosta had at least a 1 car garage. This house has a 2 car garage but the owners' vehicles are occupying the garage. Although we parked in the driveway, it was still a pretty big disappointment.
