Two story lakefront log cabin (1800+ square feet) sits on a large grassy lot that goes up to the water, with hard packed sand bottom perfect for swimming, wading, boating, fishing. Fire pit at the lakefront. Boat rentals available from local marinas or bring your own boat and launch from nearby public launch. Boat right up to owners dock and moor your boat there. Excellent fishing (bass, walleye, pike). Pickerel Lake is by far the most quiet of the Inland Waterway. Great waterskiing, wake boarding, and all boating activities. Incredible sunsets.
The Inland Waterway will connect you by boat to Crooked Lake, Burt Lake, Mullet Lake and Lake Michigan (and Mackinaw Island). The Mackinaw Bridge and Mackinaw Island are just 30 minutes by car and Traverse City (Cherry Capital of the World and shopping) is just 1 1/2 hours away. Thunder Falls water park is located in Mackinaw City.
Downtown Petoskey, as well as nearby Charlevoix and Harbor Springs have many activities year round to enjoy as well as excellent shopping!
The cabin has 3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 bedrooms have queen size log beds, one bedroom has a full size log bed. Washer and dryer on first floor. The loft has 2 queen size log beds. All linens are new and very cozy. One bathroom downstairs with shower and one full bathroom upstairs with tub and shower. The large living room has original field stone wood burning fireplace, very cozy, with attached screened-in porch. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen and a gas grill on the patio. A party store is within walking distance for all general food supplies, as well as, fishing license, bait, videos and pizza.
This cabin was built in 1935 and the owners take pride in updating and adding something new every year to this unique cabin.

* April 1 thru May 30 - $1,100/week + Plus $150 cleaning fee per week
* June 1 thru August 30 - $1,950/week + Plus $150 cleaning fee per week
* 4th of July Week, July 2 thru July 9 - $2,750/week + Plus $150 cleaning fee
* September 1 thru November 30 - $1,100/week + Plus $150 cleaning fee per week
**$50/ week pet fee

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Petoskey and Pickerel Lake is our favorite place to be. We simply would not miss a beautiful summer with all it's beauty, sunsets, camp fires and boating. It's just a unique, special place for families to make memories.

Julilanne has been vacationing on Pickerel Lake in her family's cottage since she was a little girl. Pat has been joining her every year since they met more than twenty years ago. Now our 3 boys have grown up spending summertime on Pickerel Lake. In 2009 we were lucky to find a place of our own. It's truely a special place, and we enjoy sharing it with others who enjoy it as much as we do!

This August will be our third year at this beautiful cottage and we just love it. The nature preserve surrounding it makes the area feel so private and everyone we have encountered while out walking with the dogs is so friendly. The dogs love the big yard and shallow water for swimming and we love the nice sandy bottom! :) All the added touches in the cabin make it feel so much like home we have grown to think of it as our "home away from home."

The cottage and lake were beautiful and exactly as described. Unfortunately, it rained most of the week, but we did get in a couple of good boating days. The shopping in Petoskey is awesome with many unique shops. We especially loved Sturgeon River Pottery on US-31. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this vacation cottage. One word, "Wow!" From the moment we drove down the little road and we pulled into the driveway...The cabin was awesome on the outside, but when we walked in the door...wow. I knew this was a special place. It was like walking into a friends home. Anything we needed was there. All we really needed was our toothbrush! It was such a relaxing 2 weeks, we truly did not want to leave. The bedding was so very comfortable and plush- even in the swankiest of hotels, you are leary of pulling the covers up around you for fear of someone elses germs, not here! In fact- we slept better here than home. The views we awoke to, (we arrived very late the night before) were breathtaking. From the lake to simply looking out any window! The fireplace was wonderful and cozy at night. We took walks and met so many nice people in the area, each one friendlier than the next. And the caretakers- Julie and her husband Jason, they were so very helpful and attentive to our many questions we had. Driving into Petoskey, the views of the surrounding hills and farm lands were so beautiful, we never ran out of places to explore! I took so many gorgeous pictures and we have some beautiful memories. I have never had such a wonderful experience in finding a place as this. Anyone fortunate enough to find this cabin and actually get to stay here are very lucky! ....I cannot say enough about this cabin. You have to experience it for yourself- we will surely be back again!
