This authentic early 1900's dune cottage is beautifully renovated, and only one hour by car or train from downtown Chicago. In addition to the queen bed and queen futon, it includes a sleeping loft with two inflatable aero-beds, lighting, ventilation and windows--perfect for children. The large gazebo has screens and storm windows with a full view of the lake, Chicago skyline and beautiful sunsets. It includes a small dining table and chairs and seating for up to eight people, a perfect place for intimate meals and reading or resting out of the sun.
The deep sandy beach is one of the most beautiful in Indiana with no erosion or man-made storm walls, only well-established dunes with dune grass, wild dune cherry bushes and cottonwood trees. This wildlife preserve boasts one of the greatest levels of plant and animal biodiversity in the northern hemisphere. It is surrounded by Indiana Dunes State and National Park, biking trails and a number of causal and fine restaurants. |
