Relax in luxury in the mountains with some of the best views of Massanutten Mountain and the ski hills available. From the kitchen to the front deck, enjoy unsurpassed views. The View is a newly constructed six bedroom, four bathroom home, with three huge King Master Suite bedrooms and baths, and over 3,000 square feet of living space. With two separate great rooms and new furnishings throughout with comfort in mind, including leather sectional couch and loveseat, The View provides plenty of room for family gathering. The upstairs great room flows with an open kitchen and large 10-person kitchen table with separate bar seating for three and additional indoor family seating. There is a second great room downstairs as well. There is also plenty of parking with a garage and additional room for cars in the driveway.
Located within the Massanutten Four Seasons Resort, The View is a rewarding base for those who come to enjoy the many pleasures of Virginia's Valley of the Shenandoah. The View backs to the National Forest, with hiking paths and hunting within easy walking distance, and great views of the Massanutten Mountain and the Shenandoah Valley. The rolling hills of the Shenandoah Valley are rich in Virginia history and easily accessible by Interstate I-81 or I-64. Guests may ski, fish, canoe, tube, bike, hike, hunt, or just relax and unwind to the soothing murmur of the Shenandoah River and cool mountain breezes. Other popular pastimes within easy driving distance include Civil War battlefields and museums, national parks, caverns, wineries, golf, tennis, horse back riding, and the many specialty and antique shops.
The six bedrooms and four bathrooms are configured as follows: Master King Suite: Upstairs with King bed, attached double-sink master bathroom, and double-door entry to front deck balcony (sleeps two); Master King Suite two: Upstairs with King bed, and attached double-sink master bathroom (sleeps two); Attached Bunk Room three with twin bunkbeds (sleeps two); Master King Suite four: Downstairs with King bed, attached double-sink master bathroom (sleeps two); Queen Bedroom five: Downstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Queen Bedroom six: Downstairs with queen bed (sleeps two); Sofa sleeper: Upstairs in the living room is a queen sleeper part of a spacious sectional (sleeps two); Sofa sleeper: Downstairs in the recreation room is a queen sleeper (sleeps two). Port-a-crib available. Total sleeping capacity is 16, with additional space available.
Upstairs also includes a large open kitchen and great room (perfect for family gatherings), a foyer with access to the front deck balcony, and a back deck with new gas barbeque grill. Downstairs also has a separate bathroom, great room with large screen color television, DVD and VHS, walk-out basement with front lower level deck, laundry facilities and a garage.
The View, as well as Massanutten Four Seasons Resort, caters to families. There really is no better resort on the East Coast with as many activities at such a great value. In all cases, please be respectful of the full-time residents that live at Massanutten Resort. Open fires are not permitted within Masssanutten Resort.

- The Massanutten Water Park is a very impressive, 4 acre water park, with about 42,000 sq. ft. of indoor water park area in Phase One open year round, and 88,000 sq. ft. of outdoor water park area open in the summertime. There are numerous slides inside the park, along with a lazy river and many other water activities. The outside area has a racing slide, a wave pool and several other water amenities. The complex also houses a food court, lockers and showers, a "state of the art" video arcade, and a full service restaurant. The park is the finest such facility on the East Coast, at a cost of over $30 million dollars. The View is stocked with a full line of brochures providing information on numerous additional area activities, including snow tubing and canoing

While on a weekend ski trip over President’s Day 2004, we fell in love with Massanutten Resort and purchased our first second home, The Retreat at Massanutten. We have now vacationed at Massanutten for more than seven years to get away from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, for winter skiing and summer outdoor fun. No other resort near Washington, DC offers as wide a variety of activities as Massanutten, and at such a great value for the family to get away together. Since 2004, we have added three additional Massanutten homes to our inventory, including The View at Massanutten, and rented to more than 430 different families. We hope you will enjoy The View at Massanutten as much as our other guests have.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The View at Massanutten is one of the best homes that we own at Massanutten Resort. Aptly named, The View provides some of the best views of the ski hills on the mountain. The View is the perfect home to accommodate family gatherings, both large and small. As with our other homes, The View is exceptionally well appointed and because of its new construction, is in pristine condition. The View is stocked with activities, such as foosball, movies, an arcade game, kids toys, and books. The View is also uniquely situated at the top of the mountain, right in the middle of all of the activities. It backs up to the George Washington National Forest and is perfect for enjoying your getaway vacation.

This is a 5 bedroom house. They put sliding doors in the middle of one of the bedrooms and call it two. So you have to walk through one "bedroom" to get to the other. This was a big issue for our group b/c we planned on having 6 bedrooms, not 5 where 2 couples would have to share. The house was dirty. The supposed game room was a couch, tv, and broken arcade game. The guest book in the house indicates we were certainly not the first unhappy guests.
Owner response:Our listings clearly explain the benefits of this home, with three King Master Suites and four bathrooms and plenty of space for the group. One of our King master Suites was so large that we have split it off, so that the bunkroom is separate from the King bed. Most families that rent the home love the extra space with the privacy and specifically request this property because of this setup. In this case, that setup was clearly explained to the guest before she rented the home both in conversation and by email. We also have a foosball table upstairs with a bookcase full of books and other table games and games for kids. Downstairs we have an arcade game which does indeed work. Our comments over the last five years on all four of our homes have been almost uniformly positive, as you can see from viewing our homes listed on vrbo.com and homeaway.com. We were disappointed in this comment, which is simply not reflective of the home or the experience. Had this guest reached out during her stay, we would have gladly accommodated her. We have 24-hour service from our onsite manager, who provides truly exceptional service. And we have reached out to this guest multiple times by phone and email for further clarification without any response. We aim to provide excellent service for all renters.

It was wonderful to usher in 2009 ALL together in your beautiful home. The View is spectacular. We enjoyed snow tubing, skiing, hiking and the water park - WOW! There's so much to do. This is our third time to all stay at Massanutten and your house was our favorite. Thanks!

I loved the view of the slopes and the feel of the carpet. The house was perfect for our stay. Thanks for letting us stay at this wonderful house. I loved the rooms and the TV, also the foosball. I hope I can come back to this house. It is nice. I enjoyed it and had lots of fun. The couch was very comfortable. The house was very homey. The bed was very comfy. I love The View.
