FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Is the Apartment in a safe area? Yes. It's in the heart of Paris where it always lively; the streets are well-lit at night; there is a code to enter into the building; and of course we're always near by if you're ever in need!

2. Where is the nearest grocery store? There is a large supermarket on Rue de Rivoli not far from the apartment, however; the area around the Marais and the Ile St. Louis are known for their small specialty stores where you can find the best bread, cheese, wine and meat in Paris.

3. Can I make calls from the Apartment? How much are they? There is a phone in the apartment, and you can call to the US for FREE with our carrier! Some other destinations are free as well, please e-mail us with a list of countries you would like to call, and we'll let you know how little our carrier will charge. You can also buy a pre-paid MobiCarte, which is a SIM card you can buy at any Tabac, to use with your own cell phone here.

4. How do I get there from the airport? How much is it?
-- TAXI : 35-45 Euro
-- Direct Train (RER B) from Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly Airport to Chatelet or St. Michel metro stations : less than 9 euro/per person + a short walk to the apartment

5. How do I get around? There is a vast metro/bus/train system in Paris that is easy to navigate, although the best mode of transport when you stay in the center of all the activity is by foot! There is also a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing bus, as well as a hop on/hop off sightseeing boat! The latest marvel is the new bike rental system! You can find one on almost any street corner - just rent it for however long you wish with your credit card (at what looks like an ATM) and off you go! (You can even return it to a different location, too).

6. How much would it be to stay in such a great location at a Hotel instead? In fact there are no hotels directly on the Seine River on the Ile de la Cite, that is what makes our apartment so special! And we have all the amenities of a hotel - plus so much more!

Notre-Dame Luxury Studio W/ Seine View Dec15-20 Offer Eur 600

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 4

We love Paris, and we would like tourists to live a real parisian life during their stay and we strongly believe that renting an apartment is a 1000 times better than going to an expensive hotel... where rooms are moreover usually very very tiny, furniture usually old fashioned. And the best way to enjoy Paris is to live like a parisian in a typical french apartment!

Being the historic center of Paris, Ile de la Cité is one of the most prestigious location in Paris, in the heart of "Le Marais" quarter, you are 2 minutes walk from the world famous church Notre Dame, and close to all major sightseeings: Louvre Museum, Picasso Museum, famous Place des Vosges, Pompidou Center, Hotel de Ville...etc..

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment

The location of our "Lovenest" apartment is quite UNIQUE as you can see from the first two pictures: Located on the Quai aux fleurs, on the 2nd floor of a 17th century old renovated building, with a brand new elevator (very rare in this neighborhood), our apartment has 2 large windows, meaning lots of light, and above all from which you will have a DIRECT, panoramic and AMAZING view on the Seine River and on the Hotel de Ville, Pont Louis Philippe, and Saint Louis Island...
Thus, sitting comfortably in the leather couch in the living room, you will have a real show: the famous "Bateaux Mouches" passing by... and the beauty of this scene especially at night when Paris becomes the City of light !

We wanted to give the "french touch/taste" to our apartment, along with very high level and luxurious furniture for your comfort: a designer leather couch, antique table and chairs, a magnifiscent tapestry make the french style, while the modern "american" kitchen, the italian style modern shower and the electronic high standard murphy bed gives you all the "like home" comfort you need...!

    • Our stay in this apartment in September 2009 was fantastic. The apartment is located on a well-lit street on Ile de la Cite. The building is historic, which you can easily tell from the winding wooden stairs to the beams on the ceiling of the apartment. The apartment is up two flights of stairs, but there is an elevator should you need to use it. The inside of the apartment was perfect for us. It was exactly what I think a Parisian apartment should be - small and charming. It appears to have been recently renovated as the kitchen and bathroom are beautiful. The furnishing are very nice and just as the pictures depict. The bed is a murphy bed that is electronic so no heavy lifting. Once the bed is down, you wouldn't think it folds into the wall since it is so comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cookware and a few staples (tea, coffee, bottled water, sugar, salt, etc.). I'd say you could easily cook dinner for two (possibly four) in this kitchen, but you'd be stretching it to cook for more than that. The pictures we saw online were entirely accurate. I believe the only difference is that there is a new comforter that is just as nice as the one shown online. As the pictures and description indicate, the apartment is small but bigger than a Parisian hotel room. We felt it was more than large enough for two people wanting to feel at home in a romantic pied-a- terre. The last item about this place that cannot go without mentioning are the owners - Marc & Marie-Christine. They made us feel right at home. Marc met us at the apartment early in the morning after our flight arrived and explained everything we needed to know. They also delivered some sweets and a bottle of wine to help us enjoy our stay. It made us feel right at home.

Both my boyfriend and I LOVED this apartment! We really can't say enough good things about it! We stayed for one week and we felt like we where really living in Paris! It's perfect for two people. The murphy bed is truly comfortable! We sleep in a queen size bed at home, but this full size bed did not feel small at all! The entire apartment is clean! We never once felt like we had to worry about anything being dirty...the towels, the linens, dishes...everything was perfect! The bathroom is spacious with plenty of storage space for your toiletries. The closet was also very spacious equipped with an iron and ironing board. The washer was also perfect...the clothes come out cleaner than at home and practically dry because european washers take longer to cycle and spin a lot faster than the US washers...it was like having a washer and dryer in one! The location and view are amazing! Overlooking the river and near two metro stops...we where truly near to everything! The next island over (one block away) has a little market where we would buy fruit and right accross there is a bakery where we would buy crossaints in the morning. After walking all over the city, we where convinced we had picked the right place to stay...still central to everything, but away from the busy tourist chaos...we felt like we where part of the city there and not travelers passing by. The owners are also sweet as can be! They are there to welcome you and to wish you a farewell...they had water and champagne at our arrival. Thank you Marie and Marc! Our transaction was smooth from beginning to end. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Paris! No doubts or hesitations :)

    • My husband and I just returned from Paris and this lovely studio "gem". Everything about our experience was perfect...especially the very kind attention we received from the owners, Marc and Marie-Christine. The location cannot be beat since there is nothing quite as magnificant as sipping wine in your own flat over-looking the Seine. The Metro, bus and RER (which runs directly to the airport from two blocks away) are all a short walk from your door and there are many good shops, markets and restaurants nearby in both The Marais and The Latin Quarter. The apartment is customarily small (it's Paris after all), but is well-appointed with A+ decor and everything you need to have an evening "in" after exploring Paris all day. Marc & Marie-Christine are a wealth of knowledge and went out of their way to meet us, gives us our Paris "bearings" and make us feel welcome. You can have your big hotels....we will definitely stay here again next year and we will probably never travel any other way than this!
