The cabin is very cute and clean. And it is fairly close to down town. In fact, we walked into town for breakfast one morning. The cabin is close to the river too, which is a nice touch. I had a couple of issues with this rental: The shower is awful. The water comes out of a pipe, no shower head so the water is a bit harsh and uncomfortable. I saw a shower head at Ace Hardware recently for $20. Its not too difficult of a fix. Additionally, there was a handwritten note on the refrigerator that said we couldn't use the outside grill. I totally understand why (forrest fire danger), it just would have been nice to have known this information before packing up and heading out of town. Overall, we had a nice weekend away.

                    Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: The cabin is undergoing a major remodel in a month so the shower head will be replaced. I'm sorry this guest is unhappy about that. Although somewhat unsightly, the actual shower operates just fine. As for the fire ban, this guest lives in Colorado, less than an hour away. We've had devastating fires all summer near the town where this guest lives. And Estes Park is currently still battling the Fern Lake Fire. There has been major media and signs all the way to Estes stating the ban. My note is there just to prevent our guests from getting hit with a fine in case they missed all the signage, which seems possible for our out of area, non-local guests. As for letting them know before they arrived, honestly never crossed our minds. I have had email conversations after this guest's visit to ask how her visit was and if there was anything we could've done. Because we always strive to improved visits for our guests, I would've loved to know this information but she didn't let us know when we asked. I let this guest know she could check in early--got the cleaning done early so she could do so and emailed her to be helpful. I just wished she would've mentioned the ways we tried to be helpful to her.

The cabin was wonderful and the view was better! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed to make our family vacation wonderful. The girls loved the bunk beds and loved the fact they had thier own room. The river by the cabin was beautiful and very nice to sit by and enjoy the view. Downtown and RMNP were just a short drive away!

It is a very nice cabin and you can see the river from cabin's deck. We enjoyed our stay. It would have been nice if there was a dishwasher.

This cabin worked well for our group of two kids and two adults. It was located close to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and close to the town of Estes Park too. The kids enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds, and walking down to explore by the river.

Great cabin. Clean, quiet and close to the river. The master bed was just right. I recommend this wonderful cabin. Plenty of hot water and warm and cozy for winter nights.

This was the best cabin! Everything was so comfortable. The cabin had everything one could need for a great vacation. It was an ideal location and very clean. I would highly recommend this cabin. We even saw deer and 2 bears. I hope we get to return one day, and we will stay in this cabin again.

My husband and I recently stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. I loved the location between the park and the town. We were glad to find a fan in the closet because it was a bit warmer than expected. However, it got quite cool at night. We enjoyed the sights of Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding area. The aspens were gorgeous and the wildlife was entertaining. We loved walking down to the river, but we didn't spend much time there because the bears were active. Three restaurants we enjoyed were Sundeck(the best), Molly B's, and THe Egg and I. THis was our first experience with VRBO and I was quite pleased. I won't hesitate to use it again.

The cabin was just as pictured and clean. If you enjoy the Rocky Mountains you couldn't ask for a better location. We were in the park 5 out of the 6 days hiking. We didn't see any elk at the cabin but plenty of bunnies and ground squirrels. In the park we saw moose, herds of elk, marmot, pikas, ground squirrels and, of course, chipmunks. My only con would be that the cabin was very hot which is not the fault of Carolyn and Brian. I think we went the only week it was in the high 80s. We are from Texas and very much used to air conditioning which 95% of the shops and restaurants in town do not have. If you like BBQ, you should try Dave's BBQ which you can walk to and Mary's Lake Lodge and Tavern.

My sister and I stayed at Long's Peak from June 25 - July 2, 2011. I have been visiting Estes Park each summer for the past 7 years, usually staying at different places, and this cabin was one of my favorite places to stay. It was charming, cozy, and I loved the pine furniture. The cabin was exactly as described (and pictured) and was very clean upon our arrival. I could hear the Big Thompson River from the master bedroom. I saw rabbits and chipmunks on the property. Brian and Carolyn were very pleasant to work with and I would certainly rent from them again. The location was perfect! Close enough to walk into Estes Park if you wanted exercise - maybe 15 minutes. Since I favor the hikes around Bear Lake and Glacier Gorge this was a great location to access those areas via the Beaver Meadow entrance. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are some of the most beautiful places in the United States and you can't go wrong making this cabin your homebase to explore both.

The cabin made a perfect base for when we weren't out hiking in the park or exploring the shops and eating in town. It was very well equipped and super clean. It was nice to be able to do breakfast at the cabin. The location is IDEAL being so close to town and the park. The owners were wonderful to work with.

Why the Owner Chose Estes Park:
We love spending family time in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The beauty of the area is indescribable--from the snow capped mountain view in winter to the harem of elk that visit in the fall. We purchased the cabin to have a place to create some wonderful family memories. We hope your family can create memories there too!
