THIS IS WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER RENTALS: I always hated having to grocery shop immediately after my arrival. Units managed by rental agencies seem sterile and unlike home. They are totally stripped of food of any sort (this even includes salt and pepper!) Since this unit is privately managed, we offer essentials that allow you to immediately relax and get in vacation mode. The unit will be stocked with some or all of the following: Soft drinks, snacks, salt, pepper, sugar, artificial sweetener, cooking oil, coffee, non-dairy creamer, etc.
My family has vacationed in Hilton Head for 20 years. After we discovered Harbourside and Shelter Cove, we never stayed ocean front again! The Harbour has it all!! Our one bedroom condo is cozy, comfortable and very private. This unit is a perfect romantic “get away” for a couple as the master suite with its large mirrored jetted tub is privately situated up the spiral staircase. However, there is plenty of room for additional guests as the leather sofa in the living room converts to a queen bed and there is a full bath downstairs. Electric fireplaces in the master bedroom suite!
There is so much to do at Shelter Cove Harbour! You can take a stroll along the harbor and look at all the beautiful yachts and boats. On the first level of the complex there are over 30 shops and restaurants. The Marina features Hilton Head Island's largest deep-water yacht basin. Every conceivable water sport may be enjoyed here, from deep-sea and inshore fishing charters to sport crabbing, sail and power boat rentals, sightseeing and nature excursions and dinner cruises. Shelter Cove is the center of evening activities. Harbourfest is held from April until the end of August and has exhibits, vendors, entertainment, and loads of fun for the entire family. Shannon Tanner is an island tradition and has been performing at Shelter Cove for almost 20 years and has two shows nightly. The theater and the islands only indoor shopping mall are only steps away! The beach is less than a mile away--an easy walk or bike ride. Or, since Harbourside is a part of Palmetto Dunes (the premier resort on the island) take advantage of Palmetto Dunes free transportation, the Dunes Buggy, an air conditioned van which will pick you up at your door and deliver you to the beach, mall, or any Palmetto Dunes properties FREE of charge. When you are ready to return, simply give the shuttle a call.
Beach access is at either of Palmetto Dunes two beach houses. Stroll along three miles of uncrowded beach. Enjoy Hilton Head Canoeing or kayaking on 11 miles of winding lagoons teeming with wildlife. Rent a bike and cruise over miles of paved bike paths or enjoy a little beach cycling along the shore. Or simply relax and soak up the rays.

This was our third time staying at Shelter Cove. This is the best villa, very clean, well decorated. My husband and I had a great time, the villa is very roomy and the patio we enjoyed. Our thanks, to Jenny the owner who is a so nice and very helpful. We would highly recommend this villa to our family and friends. The description of the condo and the harbor was spot on, and this condo definitely did not disappoint! We spent our Memorial Day weekend here, and wow what a great deal! The owner is not kidding when they say there is everything you need right there: from more than enough dishes, appliances, beach chairs, towels, bags, shampoos, etc., we felt very well cared for right when we walked in the condo. The condo itself is in great shape. There was a tropical storm when we went, so we spent a good deal of time in the condo and still had a great time relaxing on the balcony with tropical drinks! The owner provided great recommendations for places to visit; our trip was brief, but we had a great time exploring the harbor in the time we had. The condo is in close proximity to the beach with a shuttle that can take you across the road, or you can drive yourself. The harbor is riddled with little shops and great restaurants literally just downstairs from you. We had our pup with and found little restaurants around the harbor where we could sit and sip wine while our pup laid at our feet. We had a great dinner at Bistro 17; they even had a dog menu for the pup! From the second you walk in the condo, you will feel welcome. Overall, it felt like the perfect combination of vacation and home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I am a research nerd - like a huge, giant research nerd that will spend countless hours finding the best deal for a vacation home to rent, and this condo did not disappoint! Jenny was fantastic to work with - sending us maps, coupons, etc. beforehand, and the condo was so beautiful and the perfect location and pet friendly! (Our pup loved that he was invited on vacation with us ;)) Close to the beach - I recommend using the free shuttle - and close to restaurants and a bit of night life. We really could not have asked for a better or more relaxing vacation spot. There are so many options on HHI, but Shelter Cove is a great spot. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The location of this condo makes it unnecessary to even go anywhere else. There are so many shops and restaurants within walking distance (1/2 mile or less). The pier provides a beautiful view of the sunset and a place to walk/exercise if you'd like. The main shopping center (Tanger) is only minutes away. The pool is at the bottom of the steps, so everything you need is right there! The Dunes Buggy provides a quick, free, easy way to go to the beach without hassle. Jenny is also a wonderful host. When I go back to HHI, I'll definitely be calling her again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My wife and I just returned from a week at Hilton Head Island. This unit is right on the marina side. Second floor unit. Windows facing the outdoor pool. Full size kitchen and all utensils are supplied. They also have some condiments. Pet friendly. Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. Washer / Dryer. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Drive 10 minutes to the beach. Biking lanes. Private parking lot. We are already planning our trip for next year again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers.

Our family made last minute plans with Jenny in August , 2010. Her 1 bedroom condo was very nice and large enough for my one teen and her sister to sleep downstairs without adding the expense of a 2 bedroom to our budget. I was relieved after our long exhausting trip from Cincinnati to have the freezer stocked, so we threw in a couple of frozen pizzas without having to go right away to the Piggly Wiggly. Shelter Cove is a great place to stay, with many choices of restaurants all within walking distance. We rented bikes, which were delivered directly to our condo. The only thing missing is the oceanfront, but I'd rather stay in a nicer place and go to the beach in the free shuttle when I want to. I'd recommend her unit again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We loved this little bungalow by the harbor! The villa was perfect for our little family of 3. The villa was well equipped with towels, dishes, etc. It was also very quaint and centrally located for all that we wanted to do. You can go down to Shelter Cove and eat, play, shop, or just watch the boats come in. And if that isn't enough the beach is less than a 10 minute bike ride! You can truly park your car once you arrive and relax. Perfect get away spot ~ we will be back for another long weekend real soon. My family and I have vacationed on Hilton Head Island since 1988. In the mid 1990's, just by chance, we stayed at Harbourside in Shelter Cove. We fell in love with Shelter Cove and all it has to offer. The best dining is on the harbour, the best entertainment is on the harbour, the best shopping is right here! Everything is steps from your door. There is nowhere else like it! We love it here.

The harbor is the center of activity for Hilton Head Island. Shannon Tanner performs nightly and is great entertainment for all ages, but especially young children. Harbourfest is held during the summer and has exhibits, vendors, entertainment and weekly firework displays. The restaurants have great food as well as live entertainment. Every type of water sport is available here—dinner cruises, crabbing, kayaking, night shark fishing, etc. Nothing is better than watching a beautiful sunset over the harbor. The harbor is well lit and perfect for evening walks or bike rides (the rest of the island has very low lighting). Everything you need is right here—and the beach is just a mile away!
