PEACEFUL, PRIVATE, and PERFECT... will describe your vacation when you join your family and friends at the Harmony River House. Harmony River House is a tranquil and private home set on one acre of woods, overlooking the Kalamazoo River and only 10 minutes from town. The peaceful setting in the woods is incredible; there is a scenic view out every window. Beautifully decorated with special touches throughout, you will feel like you are home.
The ultra-clean furniture and high thread count linens are incredibly cozy. Recently renovated with hard wood floors, the open floor plan and clean, well-stocked kitchen inspire memorable gatherings with family and friends. The wood burning fireplace and hot tub will keep you warm on snowy winter nights. The layout is perfect for two couples or a family.
You will enjoy reading, playing board games, Foosball, darts or the kid’s train table on the large screened-in porch. Just beyond the screened porch sits the hot tub and wood deck overlooking the Kalamazoo River. We have a canoe available for trips up the river. All these areas offer a different way to relax and enjoy the views of the river. A camp-style fire pit gently illuminates the tall trees of the surrounding woods.
Guided canoe tours or private Jet Boat tours are available through a local outfitter. You will spot Bald Eagles and other birds and animals while you travel on the Kalamazoo.
A family getaway, a girls or guys weekend, or a romantic hideaway - the Harmony River House is just right! You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this vacation home with another couple and had a great time! We live in Chicago and don't get to do much outdoors. We enjoyed the amenities and especially had fun taking the canoe on the river. The hot tub was clean and had a great view. We and had a campfire going all day. We spent our second day downtown visiting the wineries and shops. The owner was very nice and responded to emails with questions about renting the home very promptly which is why we chose this rental over others. Would definitely go here again! P.S. they allow dogs!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners.

Quiet...Relaxing...and off the beaten path... is what you'll find at the "Harmony River House". We stayed at Roxanne's other property in Saugatuck last year....I can guarantee this, her properties will be clean, well appointed and always a pleasure to stay at. The "River House" will provide you the peace and quiet you so desire, while keeping you within a 10 minute drive to downtown Saugatuck. The outdoor Hot Tub over looking the Kalamazoo River was a nice treat to come home to after spending the day exploring what Southwestern Michigan has to offer. If you enjoy the outdoors and a wooded setting... you can stop looking... The "Harmony River House" will meet all of your needs. Roxanne is always a pleasure to work with and has ALWAYS gone out of her way to insure our stay was enjoyable....Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Myself and two friends rented this property for an end of Summer trip. The property absolutely exceeded our expectations and I would not hesitate to rent it again or recommend this to friends. We are medical students on a budget and found this place to be very affordable, clean, and comfortable. The listing description accurately describes the location and reflects the rentals appearance and amenities. Additionally, the property was very clean and well-maintained. As the description says, it is set on one acre of woods which is what we were looking for. Last year we stayed in town and it was too busy for us. This setting is really ideal if you want to be close to town yet away from the crowds. Also, this property is dog friendly. Most rentals do not allow pets so this was another bonus. We enjoyed biking and walking the local beaches. Don't forget to climb Mount Baldhead in Saugatuck for an amazing view. Make sure you read the property description and ask questions; the owners are great to work with. They answered all of our many questions about the area and were so patient! (lots of emails back and forth) Thank you for everything! (Jenny S. from Grand Rapids, MI)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners.

Fabulous Rental! We have rented this house a couple of times. Summer time is great with the kids. Fall or Winter we come for a quick weekend getaway. Having rented in the area in the past we have come to appreciate the terrific customer service from the owners and the many extras that come with this rental. Kids love the outdoors so this location is perfect for us. It’s a natural gorgeous setting—something you won’t see if you stay in a hotel! Bird watching (hummingbirds, too!) is incredible. If you love nature, this is the house for you. It's also very private--you are renting an entire house! You can't beat the value. You would pay triple at a hotel during the peak season. Property is always well cared for, we even find new things each time we visit (dart board!). Five stars for sure. Will be back again in the Summer—can’t wait!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We rented Harmony House on the river this past weekend. There were 4 adults and we found the home to be clean and a great place for a weekend retreat. We used the kitchen to cook as well as the grill outside. The hot tub was clean and warm enough for us to use on a cool evening. The outside of the property is not a park setting, but it fits right in with the surrounding area. We did have flies in the house, but we handled that problem ourselves. The only thing we wish we would have had was a TV that had service. You can use it for movies, but there was never a signal for us to get a picture. All in all our stay was lovely and we are considering making this an annual location to visit Saugatuck and the surrounding are.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

Our week's stay was nice and the house and linens were clean and kitchen user friendly. We were disappointed that you could not see the river from the house or ourside due to all the overgrowth. Poison ivy was rampent and so we sould not walk the back and side walkways and down to the river. Could have used another fry pan and a pie plate for apple pie. Air conditionar was not working and was freezing those sleeping in the house and baby. Spiders were numerous as well as bees in the house. Second bedroom and bath were musty; shower head was awful and needed a fan. We could have opened the window by the sink , but it had no screen. Needed a few hangers too. It had a lot of space, but did not look like the photos online. Too many ant and mouse traps around gives you the idea of problems. We live in the woods as well and do have these around, but not to the extent of the number here. Many DVDs to choose from but still could have used local channels to find weather reports to plan the day ! This place has a lot of potential, but little curb appeal as the undergrowth is thick. Could be a really cute place with some sweat hours in the yard!! We did enjoy our stay, but because of the younger set with us we will try to stay in town next time! Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: For your consideration: #1. Our property is located along a natural stretch of the Kalamazoo River which harbors some of the best preserved examples of Midwestern U.S. habitats including headwater streams, wetlands and floodplains, and has several large areas of contiguous forests and grasslands. This is a very natural setting much like you would find in a state park or forest. #2. A Pyrex (glass) pie plate is available. We provide most of the kitchen basics but should you have questions about what is available please contact us prior to your stay. #3. The air conditioner is working. You can adjust the controls with the up/down arrow. Please contact us during your stay should you need further clarification. #4. Shower head is functioning and fans are available. Hangers are also available in the closets. #5. The exterminators place “bait traps” (black boxes which contain poison) outside along the perimeter of the house due to our natural setting (see #1). We do not have mouse traps. These black boxes are similar to what you would see in office buildings, outside of restaurants, schools, public buildings, etc. #6. Local TV channels are available.

We enjoyed this house thoroughly. For us, the fireplace and hot tub were the highlights, but the whole house is beautiful, cozy, and comfortable. There were two couples in our group and two dogs, and everyone had enough space. I would recommend this to anyone. It was a great value, too.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

We had a fantastic time at the house!! It met and exceeded all of our expectations. The hot tub was amazing at night overlooking the river...our favorite part of the house. The house was very clean and not that far away from Douglas/Saugatuck. Would highly recommend this place to my friends. We really enjoyed our stay at this wooded retreat! We loved the quiet, with only the sounds of the birds or acorns falling from the trees. Our dog loved it too! Well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, shiny clean bathroom, cozy fireplace. There is so much to do within a short drive. We highly recommend Saugatuck Dunes State Park for a great hike in the woods opening up to the beautiful view of the lake! Oval Beach is amazing too, although no dogs allowed.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, pet owners.

Upon arrival, could not decide what to do first! The hot tub outside in nature with a cool breeze overlooking the Kalamazoo River...just amazing! The cozy fireplace at night, the swings out front, and my very favorite for cold weather...heated mattress which each person can control on their side of the bed! Perfect romantic get-a-way. Thanks!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
