The apartment consists of a large living room with kitchen, an area with sofa bed for two people, bedroom and dressing rooms all rigorously in modern style with warm colors typical of "Tek" wood. The light and welcoming bathroom, covered by a mosaic offers you a comfortable shower. Small private courtyard flourished in the warmer months. The apartment offers many comforts such as satellite TV, wi-fi connection with internet key (we do not provide a pc), air conditioning, washing machine, dishwasher and a smaller bed for children.
The Sestiere of Cannaregio in which the apartment is located, and more specifically " Calle delle Muneghe " offers many attractions for tourists who want to stay in an area served by the Venetian markets, typical shops, and restaurants that offer excellent cuisine. The most known way to reach Rialto and San Marco is called "Strada Nuova”, which is a few minutes far from the apartment, along “Rio della Sensa." The vaporetto stop more convenient is S. Marcuola, adjacent to the Casino of Venice.

From the moment we got off the ferry at madonna del orto church we were taken care of and was explained everything we needed to know, any questions were answered perfectly by Christine and restraunt reccomendations and sight seeing destinations were explained. It is a little bit of a walk to san marco square area where alot of the attractions are, but we are both young and entergetic so didn't mind the walk at all. The apartment is EACTLY as described and had absolutely ZERO problems with anything during our stay. We found tons of terrific palces to eat ranging from all prices, so unless you are a picky eater you should be able to find something to satisfy your hunger. It was very close to to the train station for when we departed Venice which was nice for hauling our baggage. Casino was close by, and there are many shops and markets also very close. The area felt very safe and the apartment was secure, it is very large which was nice and the A/C is also a nice touch!! We would stay at this apartment again in a heartbeat if we were to return to Venice, thanks for everything!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place was ideal for us - we are a family of four (two sons, ages 10 and 12). You can't beat the price for the location and space. The apartment is 7 minutes walk from the closest water bus stop (also the stop for the water bus from the airport). The walk to Rialto is about 20 minutes, and the walk to San Marco is about 30 minutes. The closest water bus stop on the Grand Canal is about 10 minutes away. These walks are great, and you get to stay pretty close to everything - but not too close. Daniela was excellent to correspond with, and Pietro met us at the water bus stop when we arrived, walked us to the apartment, and gave us great information on the area. There are two nice restaurants right around the corner, and a small market close by. The TV and internet worked perfectly. The apartment was neat, clean, and well kept. The bottom line is that this was a great value for the money and we would definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Ad was accurate, owner more than helpful and reliable. We, 2 gay men, stayed for 5 nights. Really enjoyed the local feel, chatted to neighbours in stumbling Italian, shopped local, ate at Anice Stellato around the corner for the best meal of our 5 week trip that followed. Easy access from airport to nearby Alilaguna and vaporetto stop at Madonna dell' Orto. Easy walk to vaporettos and the sights of Venice - gallery of modern art, Punta della Dogana, a highlight . Apartment was modern, roomy, great storage for clothes, clean, kitchen well equipped, good bathroom. One appliance at a time though. Would absolutely return.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

By far the best apartment we have stayed at so far. The owners are a lovely, helpful couple with incredible taste. We stayed with our two young children and had a ball. The apartment was located in an extremely quite street, yet there were excellent restaurants as little as 20 metres away. It was beautifully equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including good quality towels and oodles of hot water! If I am ever lucky enough to visit Venice again, I will definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We recently returned from a wonderful stay in Venice at Daniela's apartment on Calle delle Muneghe. The apartment is exactly as advertised, located on a quiet street midway between 2 canals. It is a short walk to the Rialto area, an even shorter walk to the Jewish Ghetto, and perhaps a easy 30 minute stroll to St Marks. Communicating with Daniela was easy -- mostly by email and when necessary by phone. We were met by Daniela's husband at the San Marcuola water bus stop and from there it was an easy 10 minute walk to the apartment (crossing 3 bridges along the way). We were presented with a bottle of wine and biscuits as a welcoming gift and all of the amenities of the apartment were explained to us. WIFI and satellite TV were included (WIFI being absolutely required). We arrived in the morning and although the apartment had not yet been cleaned for us (as we were told in advance), we were able to leave our suitcases in the apartment and begin our exploration of Venice. We enjoyed staying here and would recommend this apartment to others. A few general comments: As in most places in Europe electric service to homes and apartments is at a premium. \if you have all lights on and air conditioning/heating running you are likely to blow a fuse. If you do, shut off some lights and reset the fuse. If your stay corresponds with Acqua Alto just make sure there are boots in the laundry/utilty room available to you. If not, Daniela will provide them. Try and travel light while in Venice. Dragging heavy suitcases over bridges isn't fun. And while you will likely have help with your luggage getting to the apartment, you'll be on your own when you leave.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We would like to thank Daniela for a great accommodation we had in Venice. Through the reservation process, Daniela was very helpful and answered all the questions we had related to the apartment, payment methods and Venice in general. Everything was perfectly organised when we arrived in Venice including a complimentary bottle of wine and delicious Venetian biscuits. The apartment is very well located, there is a grocery shop and fruit market around the corner. The apartment is very clean, modern and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

To start, dealing with Daniela throughout the reservation process was very easy and delightful. It was also nice that you can use PayPal for the initial payment. Daniela was out of town when we arrived (which we knew before), but we met with Marina, who was very nice, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The apartment is in a nice and quiet location. Great for sleeping after a long day. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station, 5 minute walk to the Vaporetto stop and 20-25 minutes to San Marco. There is also a grocery store within 2-3 minutes’ walk. The apartment was very clean, comfortable (AC works great and the sofa bed in the living room was also comfy) and modern. It has a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. Everything looks just like it does on the pictures. There were four of us who stayed at Perla Grigia (3 nights), including my parents and my girlfriend, and it was perfect. I hope to come back to Venice, and would definitely stay here again. I highly recommend Perla Grigia to anyone. Many thanks to Daniela and Marina!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

My family of four stayed in Daniela's apartment for 5 nights. We were totally satisfied with the apartment because: Perfect location: Cannarregio is far away from the main touristry area of San Marco; 10 minutes from super markets and shops; 5 minutes from nearest water bus stop; less than 15 minutes from train station; less than 20 minutes from bus terminal (all walking distances); many nearby resturants and stores; Comfort and Hospitality: Daniela picked us up at water bus stop, and explained everything about apartment; Apartment is very modern, nicely decorated and furnished; Comfortable double and sofa beds; Perfect bathroom and shower; Well stocked kitchen; A/C, Wi-Fi, washer all work perfectly; I'll definitely stay there if I return to Venice in the future, Gary Lee Massachsuetts, U.S.A.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Delightful stay in Cannaregio

My two women friends and I enjoyed a wonderful 5 night stay at La Perla Grigia in Cannaregio, Venice. The apartment was accurately pictured on the website, and was sparklingly clean and well equipped. We would have used the beautiful kitchen more, except that we were so busy sightseeing that we preferred to dine at one of the many fine nearby canal-side restaurants at the close of a day. The owner Daniela and her friend Christine were more than accommodating, communicating with us extensively about our precise arrival time, about how to meet us and show us to the apartment, including explaining any additional information about the wi-fi or the trash pickup or the electrical outlets. In fact, we relied on them for additional help because one member of our party got inadvertently "lost" (getting on the wrong numbered vaporetto boat at Piazzale Roma...be sure you are attentive to this if you go!). Our friend finally stayed at a nearby hotel the first night, since we couldn't find her, but then she had the hotel look up Cannaregio on VRBO and found the phone numbers for the owner and her assistant, so they communicated back to us and everyone was happily reunited. If you go, take your international cell phone for sure! We particularly liked staying in the residential district of Cannaregio, where you could feel like a real Venetian for a few days....watching the delivery boats early in the morning, and exploring the local streets with neighbors walking their dogs or delivering their children to school. But getting to the main tourist sites in Venice was easy too, just hopping on the vaporetto at the S. Marcuola stop, and exploring S. Marco or S. Polo or Giudecca or the other islands. Plus, getting to the Marco Polo airport was simple, from the stop at Madonna del Orto on the northern edge of Venice, within walking distance from the lovely apartment. Try to keep your luggage to a minimum, as hauling luggage up and over bridges isn't super easy, at least for women of a certain age! I would heartily recommend Daniela's "Perla Grigia" to any potential Venice visitors, and I hope to go back one day myself. Be sure to try the nearby restaurant, Anice Stellato....you don't have to order every course on the menu to get a delicious canalside meal, and it's not overly expensive to do it that way. Mille grazie, Daniela!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Dear Betsy, I do wish to thank you for the nice, detailed comment very much appreciated. I always try to take care of my guests and of the apartment with so much love and care so your enthusiasm give me a great satisfaction, thank you. Happy to hear that one day you will be back, please remember you will be welcome anytime. Warmest, sincerely regards, Daniela
