Beautiful Beach House on Playa Nosara

The magical village of Playa Nosara is located on the Western Coast of Costa Rica. The area is lush with jungle flowers and trees and hosts abundant wildlife..howler monkeys, iguanas, toucans and parrots. The Nosara area includes three distinct beach areas, Playa Nosara, Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada where the house is located.
There is a 300 ft easement from the beach to the house that is protected as a wildlife refuge so there is a 5 minute walk. Step through the trees and you find the most beautiful, quiet, white sand beach, great for swimming, beachcombing and sunbathing. A 5 minute walk over a hill and you'll find Playa Guiones, considered one of the best surf spots on the central peninsula.
Within walking distance are great restaurants, ATV rentals, groceries and hotels. All the roads in and around Nosara are unpaved so Jeeps, ATV's and walking are the best methods of transportation. There are shuttle services, tour companies and buses that operate out of Nosara.
For recreational needs there are several surf camps located in the town in addition to surf board rentals and private, daily surf instruction. Located just south of Playa Giones is the famous Nosara Yoga Institute which has regular classes and workshops. There are guided tours to the Refugio Nacional de Fauna Silvestre.
Ostional where you can watch the arrival of the turtles. Or if inactivity is more your desire, spread out your towel on the beautiful white sand beach and listen to the waves and the sea gulls or sit in a rocking chair on the verandah and sip local Tico beer.
If you're looking for a culinary experience, the restaurants in Nosara are very high quality and reasonably affordable. The typical dish, Casados, of rice, beans, plantains and chicken, fish or beef is by far the freshest, best value. There are pizza restaurants, Asian influenced and European restaurants as well. We can provide a full list of recommendations for all your needs.
The house is well appointed with hand made solid teak furniture and bright fabrics. There are two bedrooms downstairs with a queen bed in one and a king size bed in the other bedroom and the upstairs loft has 2 twin beds.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare full gourmet meals or just whip up your mango and pineapple smoothies. There is a good sized combination safe in the closet so you needn't worry about your valuables. Beach towels, coolers and beach chairs are provided for your use. We promise an unforgettable experience in a one-of-kind spot in what we believe to be an amazingly, beautiful country. The owners are more than happy to assist you in arranging transportation to and from the airport as well as give you recommendations on the best activities to do while in Nosara in order to make your stay more enjoyable.

Comfortable home and close to the beach. Great for families or couples travelling together. Quaint town with plenty of near by restaurants (within walking distance). Beautiful beach. Air conditioning helped to cool us down on the very hot and humid days. Outdoor shower was great for washing off the sand. Convenient to have a washer and dryer as our stay was for 9 days. Very safe and lovely property.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Green Fish is a gorgeous home in a good location of Nosara. We enjoyed every bit of our 5 day vacation. Agnes was terrific. The community has a fun blend of expats and Ticos. The beaches were amazing, especially between 8 and 11 and after 4 just because the sun is too brutal in the middle of the day, leaving time for road trips in the air conditioned car or enjoying a swimming pool at a nearby hotel. The experience was contradictory, being in such a gorgeous, quality house in such an undeveloped and non-corporate community. We are so glad we chose Nosara and Green Fish.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

What a great place to stay in Costa Rica! This house was perfect for our family of four, and with two large bedrooms and a very roomy loft it could easily accomodate a larger family. The house was very comfortable and well appointed, and the property manager was very helpful and responsive. We spent a lot of time at the house and found the living area very comfortable and the kitchen well laid out and fully stocked. The neighborhood is small and quiet, but close to everything. It's an easy easy 5-minute walk to the beach (that feels like a private oasis.) There is also a small market and some great restaurants within walking distance. And for an adventure, we did longer walks on the beach into the heart of Nosara, enjoying the birds, surfers and the tidal pools along the way! Zip lines, jungle walks, surfing lessons and turtle migrations are also very close. We'll be returning for sure!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This is the perfect home away from home. Nicely nested and peacefull in nature. The house has all the necesities. Everything is new and absolutly clean.I would recommend that house for anyone who really wants to enjoy the beaches in Nosara. A quiet beach is in walking distance and surfing is only a few minutes away by car. Our kids had a lot of fun there. I'll come back for sure.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I knew from the beginning that this was the perfect VRBO when Judith personally called me to answer any questions about Green Fish. She was extremely helpful in helping us plan our trip, as well as organize logistics. All plans went off perfectly. Our taxi picked us up on time, the house was cleaned and ready, and it even had wifi! We loved the location, and could walk everywhere. The care keeper, Agnes was extremely helpful and available as well. The kitchen was well stocked with all needed tools and appliances, but I'm embarrassed to say we mostly ate out and enjoyed the local scene. I traveled with my 21 year old son and his friend, and they found tons to do on their own. All in all, a great VRBO experience and excellent Costa Rica accommodations. I highly recommend it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is truly a getaway place you will always remember! All of the things you want in a vacation place - warm sand, beautiful weather, easy walk to the beach, the village, the resturants, good food, and great value. The property was beautiful, clean and well maintained. We strolled to the beach in the morning to bask in the early warmth and play in the sparkling water, or surf if the tide was right. Tidal pools offered vignettes of sea life, and rocky hillsides rising off the beach lifted our eyes from the sea to the sky where we were treated to the sight of pelicans and other seabirds as they circled above the water looking for fish. Would we recommend this property to friends and relatives? Absolutely! Though it is tempting to keep this fabulous place a secret for ourselves, the house has room for 3 couples with absolute privacy for all or sleeping for 6 - adults and children. Indoor showers and private baths are located in both of the main floor bedrooms - but our secret pleasure was the outdoor shower which brings you oh-so-close to nature! If you choose to cook, the kitchen and dining room have an at home feeling, and grocery stores were with in walking distance - a fun place to shop - but with the really good resturants so close at hand it was not our first choice. We were told the Howler monkeys might create a little commotion, and they would likely wake us or startle us with their loud calls - but the truth was we were enchanted by the sound and sight of them in the trees, young and old. And (fore warned) there was nothing fearsome in the sound - it was more often a call to come and see, and we always did... It was an experience we hope to repeat offen!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.
