Why the Owner Chose Harrisburg
We shopped all over the country to find an Inn we liked. The first time we saw Canna Inn we were excited to find such a spacious and interesting building. It has wonderful common areas for families to relax and enjoy as well a rich history dating back to 1850. Until we moved here we didn't realize what a wonderful location it was, just a short drive from Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, and Gettysburg. Families can find lots to do or just hang and enjoy the Inn and each other.
The Unique Benefits at this Barn
Being just 1 mile from the interstate yet country enough to here cows mooing in the morning we enjoy the best of both worlds. Cooking in one of the kitchens or playing pinball or pool in the bar, families enjoy the space. The Central Pa. area has so much to offer. We never run out of interesting things to do near by. Whether skiing in the winter or paint ball shooting at near by Ski Roundtop, antiquing at a flea market or maybe just relaxing in the hammock in the grove here at the Inn, you can't beat a vacation at Canna Country Inn.
Owner's Map of Harrisburg
After 36 years of marriage we wanted to venture out and work together again. We enjoy the beach, a good flea market and our 4 grandsons. We really enjoy seeing the families get excited about their time together at the Inn.

A Perfect Wedding

Canna Inn became our "home away from home" as we hosted 125 guests on site for our daughter's wedding. The charm of the restored barn and beauty of its grounds provided the perfect canvas for a lovely outdoor event. By renting the inn for the entire weekend, we were about to accommodate the wedding party, extended family members and the bride and groom. The well equipped kitchen facilities allowed us to cater the wedding ourselves and stay well within our budget. Guests were absolutely taken by the setting and felt comfortable lingering well into the evening. The innkeepers, Susan and Daniel, maintain a well-manicured property and seem to take great pride in all that Canna has to offer. Prior to the weddng they were always a phone call or email away and were a tremendous resource as we planned all the details. Looking back, we wiould not change a thing about hosting this very special occasion at Canna Inn. Finding it was like finding a dream come true.

A historic barn transformed into a comfortable bed and breakfast; rustic beams and beautifully appointed bedrooms; close to Harrisburg and Hershey, but lots to do in the inn itself with fireplaces, movies, music, games, books, and a well furnished game loft. Innkeepers Daniel and Susan Ruffner aim to please with warm hospitality and good food.

Daniel & Susan - made us feel so welcome as we used their Barn for a healing retreat. We had 16 people stay very comfortably. The Barn feels like a home away from home and they have so manay extra touches down to a basket by the firepalce with all the makings for smores, warm snuggly blankets and plush towels and beautiful bedding. You will not be disappointed in the Canna Inn Bed and Breakfast.

We were looking for a weekend venue that would be both practical (his requirement) and pretty (my requirement), and Canna Country Inn fit the bill perfectly! Our wedding party and familiy stayed in the comfortable, beautifully decorated guest rooms, and enjoyed breakfast each morning without having to leave the house. The grounds are lovely and well kept, the kitchen was well stocked with supplies for our meals and reception, and Susan and Daniel have thought through every detail. They are a very generous and helpful couple - offering suggestions and contingency plans - they even provided wood for the fire pit and a basket of ingredients for s'mores. Highly recommended!

The inn itself is gorgeous. All of the people from our wedding party had rooms to stay in which was a major plus as all of ours was from out of town. The cove made for a beautiful ceremony site and the backyard was big enough for a 40X60 tent. (there was even room to spare). Dan and Susan were most accommodating when it came to planning. My husband and I moved and had to come by at nontraditional times and dates to check things out and to plan. If I could give the inn more than five stars I would. It's reasonably priced and it's a beautiful spot. All of our guests complimented us on our choice and our wedding party loved all of the rooms. I would highly recommend this place!

Canna Inn was the perfect place for our reunion. It was comfortable, with plenty of places to spread out, but with lots of areas for family conversations and games. There were 22 of us from ages 4 to 82. Everyone had a great time!

The Grounds are amazing the kids loved exploring all the paths and the creek. We loved all the area attractions as well. You Inn was one of the only places in the area tat would take a family of our size for the week. The 21 of us had a great time. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality!

This is our second Memorial Day trip in which we booked the entire inn with 14 adults and 14 children and we are looking into booking our third. We have been doing a trip with this crew ( started w/o kids) for 17 years now and this is probably our favorite. The location to Hershey, privacy of the rooms, cleanliness of the building, spacious back area with firepit really are hard to beat for a group trip with kids. We have stayed in bigger houses, lake houses but none have had the perfect combo that this Inn has. Plus it's good luck - no rain outs for two Memorial Days in a room - almost unheard of.
