As a young family living here on Maui we understand your desire to experience paradise on a budget.
Spend your vacation in the spacious fully equipped "Ginger suite" on our beautiful 2 acre property which boasts spectacular ocean views of the North Shore, West Maui Mountains and Kahului's city lights by night.
This ground floor suite has a cozy double bed as well as a Twin/Single daybed and convertible double futon couch, the living dining and kitchen are all an open floor plan which provides plenty of space.
All linens are provided - including beach towels. There is free wireless internet, basic cable TV, DVD player and fully equipped kitchen - no oven or dishwasher. We have a shared washer/dryer so no need to over pack, we also have a BBQ area which is charmingly lit by fairy lights at night, there is plenty of parking and storage for those of you who are here to play. An iron, ironing board, vacuum and light cleaning supplies are also available as well as a hairdryer and twin memory foam roll away bed available on request.
The lifestyle is relaxed here in up country Haiku, we are perfectly located a 5 min drive from both Haiku and Makawao towns where you will find local grocery stores, cafe's, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, pharmacies and nightlife.
The closest beach, Ho'okipa, and beach side town, Paia are both a short 15 min drive down the hill.
There is much to see and do on the North Shore of Maui. Whether you're here to surf, windsurf, kite surf, hike, bike, shop, dine or simply relax one day at a time.

Ruthie was wonderful to work with and the Ginger Suite exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable and convenient - and a great value. We are typically West Maui beach go-ers and wanted a couple of days in the upcountry. The location was perfect for quick trips to Makawao, Haiku, Hailemaile, Paia (make sure to hit the organic grocery store there - Mana). And if you want to get up to Haleakala this location cuts the trip time! We can't wait to come back!
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

We stayed here for eight nights at the begining of the month. We just moved to the island and needed a place to stay while our apartment became ready. The condo was great! We arrived at night and the whole countryside was dark with a million stars and when we woke up in the morning, our view was amazing!! And, yes, the drive down the mountain is more than five minutes, but it is a BEAUTIFUL drive!!!! Amazing! The condo had everything we needed and was nicely stocked. We didn't need the extra bed, but it came in handy for all of our stuff. Also, the owners were very nice and accomodating and willing to let us extend our stay when we needed to and also allowed us to have a package sent to the property. The kids were cute and their dog was friendly!! The Ginger Suite looks exactly like it does in the pictures and it was nice to be able to open up the windows and get a nice breeze through the condo. We would definitely suggest this condo to friends and relatives, and if we need a place to stay in the future, we would return to the Ginger Suite!!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
