Paris Arrondissement 4 apartment description
You will never forget your stay in this luxuriously appointed, utterly charming 'jewel box' of an apartment on the magical island of Ile St. Louis. The beauty of this Parisian pied-a-terre is exceeded only by its perfect location.
Juliette's 650 s.f. can accommodate from 1 - 6 people (5 adults, maximum) and is especially well-suited for a romantic retreat, a 'girls' getaway, or a small family.
Originally constructed in 1652, renovations were overseen by an award-winning French movie set designer; virtually every element is custom, from the 17th century hardwood floors to the hand-painted Renaissance era beams and exposed stonework. Nestled between the Left Bank (Latin Quarter) and Right Bank (the hip Marais district), our little 'island on the Seine' enchants with its narrow, cobblestone-lined streets filled with cafes, art galleries, gourmet restaurants, patisseries, chocolatiers and elegant boutiques selling antiques, traditional produce and fine foods and flowers. The 'Ile' is also home to the world famous glacier (ice cream purveyor) Berthillon, nearby. It is a five-minute walk to Notre Dame, and a short Metro ride (or walk) to every major tourist attraction and shopping area. This picture-perfect location - a favorite of visiting Americans and Europeans -- is everything you've imagined Paris to be. You will feel exceedingly comfortable and safe in this very special neighborhood.
Upon entering, you will be embraced by Juliette's warmth and unique character, which was lovingly created by its former owner, the wife of a French Senator, who scoured the flea markets and villages around Paris to create the ambiance of 17th Century France. At the same time, the apartment boasts the latest, modern amenities -- from WiFi and high-end appliances to luxury linens and a spacious travertine American style shower -- to make your stay completely convenient and comfortable.
One enters a foyer equipped with an antique writing desk and bookcase filled with Paris guidebooks. The downstairs bedroom features two beds - a double in an alcove flanked by two spacious wardrobes, plus a second twin bed neatly tucked under stairs leading to a romantic, low-ceiligned upstairs loft.
The large living space is spacious yet warm, and filled with wonderful antiques. A 17th century ship captain's safe serves as a stand for a flat-screen TV, and an 18th century portrait graces an antique hearth, which faces a comfortable daybed (which can accommodate a sixth guest). The space is illuminated by a beautiful crystal chandelier. A pretty dining table sits adjacent to a street-side ten foot classic French window, which bathes the apartment in light. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to create perfect French cuisine, including a famous 'La Cornue' stove (the Rolls Royce of French cooking equipment), microwave, dishwasher (cleverly concealed in an antique hutch), a lovely buffet with marble-topped workspace, and a full complement of utensils, pots, pans, china and glassware. Cable television, DVD and CD player are accompanied by a selection of music and French-themed American movies to complete the ambiance. The stunning shower room features beautiful brass fixtures, crystal sconces and an antique chest/sink. The lavatory is in a separate room, with a unique ship captain's wash basin that complements the nautical theme. There is also a Miele washer/dryer.
An antique writing desk, equipped by a MAC desktop, WiFi printer, and travel guide filled bookcase is framed by another ten-foot window greenery-filled floor-to-ceiling French window; the perfect spot to pen a postcard or your Parisian memoirs.
THE ROMANTIC LOFT
You may not want to leave your cozy nest in the mezzanine loft, with a king sized bed adjacent to an en suite bathroom featuring a wonderful Napoleonic era claw foot tub -- a perfect place to soak after a long day on the cobblestones. It also includes a sink and toilet. Please note that, while adding to the unique charm of this property, the low ceiling loft will require some ducking for anyone of stature (over 5'6'); the loft is also open to the area below; if you require absolute privacy, please contact us and we can offer alternative accommodations.
With its perfect central location and beautiful interior, updated with modern conveniences, this very special, historic apartment will make your experience in Paris all the more memorable. Juliette is a very special place from which to explore all the best that this magical city has to offer.

Three girlfriends and I stayed at Juliette for a week in October, and none of us can stop reminiscing about our magical stay in Paris; the Ile of St. Louis; and our quaint and charming apartment, Juliette! Thanks to the owner, Michelle, and her Paris manager, David, our journey was completely flawless--from the time we started planning our trip until boarding our plane for our return home. Michelle sent us excellent "must-see-and-do" information and was "magnifique" to communicate with. David made arrangements for our transportation to and from the airport and greeted us at the apartment. We felt very secure knowing that we had someone close by if we had questions or concerns. The location is PERFECT for strolling to wonderful cafes, restaurants, shops, and Notre Dame. It was a unanimous vote that the Ile of St. Louis will be our home-away-from-home spot for future Paris sojourns! Thanks, again, Michelle, for sharing your beautiful Paris home with those of us who yearn to be full-time Parisians!

Wonderful for Family
Our family of 5 - kids ages 13, 9 and 6, had such a wonderful stay at Juliette. The apartment was so quaint and charming. My 9 year old daughter loved sleeping under the stairs! Everything was immaculate and so comfortable. The location was perfect...we loved being on Ile St. Louis. We had Berthillon every day! When we had a small issue arise, David (the manager) took care of it immediately. Michelle was very responsive by email and by phone. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back. We would highly recommend!

What a delightful time we had at Juliette. As the other reviewers have noted, the whole flat is beautifully designed and very upscale. It's comforting and welcoming, and lives well! Never have I experienced such a terrific shower in France!!! Hot water, good pressure, and lovely to look at! What more could anyone ask! The washer/dryer are also the best I've used. Ile St. Louis is a great place to stay; it feels like a village within the city, yet it's so close to everything. Michelle was very, very helpful. The preinformation was most thorough. David, the on-site manager, provides a lifeline! Bottomline: Juliette is a treasure!

Our family of four spent Christmas week in the comfort of Juliette. A wonderful location, and luxurious interiors combine to make a perfect place for our holiday. We were all very comfortable, the linens, duvets, pillows and towels were all plush. The kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked and the apartment lacked for nothing. We would return to Juliette without hesitation.

This was a trip that my sister, daughter and I had planned for a year so we had very high expectations for our adventure to Paris and our stay at "Juliette" met and exceeded every one. We arrived tired after a long flight but our "car & driver" were waiting for us, arranged by our Paris, Manager, David, to be delivered to the front door of our charming apartment. Met by another David, he was to show us all the amentities of "Juliette". I felt like I had already been there due to the lovely pictures we had seen on the web site. The bathrooms were even better than the photos...all was ready & clean for our arrival. The livingroom provided seating and eating space that was charming, the kitchen had been cleverly divided on each side of the living space with everything needed for cooking and eating (we ate but didn't cook). Every morning Sis walked to our wonderful bakery down the block, returning with crossiants, brioche and lovely, small quiches. As we sat each morning in front of the window overlooking Rue des Deux Pon with our French coffee, goodies and La vie en Rose playing on the CD player that is provided for guest. Atmosphere over the top!. Our last night we watched the original Sabrina and delighted in seeing sights we had seen in Paris that day. Our trip actually began long before getting to Paris..our first contact was with the owner/Michelle by phone, she was so helpful and had information on every question we had. Our communications by phone and email aliveated our concerns about; were would we stay, how to see all that Paris has to offer, etc. She sent to us a complete package that explained how we would get the keys, who we would contact in Paris, information about Ile St. Louis and the neighborhood, sightseeing musts, eating recommendations, metro information (two blocks away)...on and on...it was all there to decipher. Two of our favorite "Juliette" restaurant recommendations were L'Orangerie on Ile St. Louis and walking to our Left Bank neighborhood to the fabulous Le Reminet..both were outstanding. So many more places than we had time to try. The apartment "Juliette" sleeps 6 and would be lovely for a family but it is the very best for a "girl's stay"! We would recommend the apartment as a way to feel like a Parisian living in Paris and not as a tourist. Wonderful experience from beginning to the end of our stay and so glad to have found "Juliette" and owner/Michelle.

Juliette was exactly, and more, of what I was anticipating. As soon as the door opened I felt at home and wanted for nothing, other than more time. She is beautifully appointed, the attention to detail in the accomodations as well as the information provided could not have been better. Michelle, thank you for thinking of everything! From the instructions to get to Ile Saint Louis, to the suggestions of places to eat and visit, all were thoughtful and on target. Just as you were responsive to emails and providing information, Juliette was responsive to providing comfort, and a sense of home from the moment that we arrived. Now that I'm reacquainted with the city, have reconnected with some old friends and made new ones I hope that I can return again sooner rather than later and will hope that Juliette is part of that equation.

We sooo loved staying at the Juiette apartment. We went for a week in June with our two children ages 8 and 5. They slept on the first level in two separate beds and we were right above them in the loft suite. Having the bathrooms separated in 3 separate areas made it easy for two people to be using different toilets and another person could be taking a shower and there wasn't any crowding or waiting. It was not only beautiful but functional, romantic, charming, safe and the location made our stay so easy. We walked everywhere and then returned by taxi at the end of our days. Even with our inability to speak French, the taxi driver always understood the location of our home. Usually we are organized, but on this trip we were a comedy of errors before we even arrived and the manager and the owner were extremely helpful. We felt we had treated our family to a completely authentic and 5 Star Parisian experience. We travel often as a family. Our son, age 8, has traveled to 11 countries. :)

I stayed at this apartment with my husband and two daughters, ages 10 and 8. I cannot impress upon you enough the utter charm of this apartment. The bed tucked under the stairs, the loft bedroom leading into a delightful bathroom with a claw-foot tub, the walls covered in fabric, the soaring ceiling of the living room/kitchen area and then the huge double windows that opened onto the street below all combine to give the quintessential Parisian experience. The location is ideal—we were just steps from good restaurants, boutiques, Notre Dame, Seine boat cruises and a central Metro stop. Michelle, the owner, is a wonderful ‘hostess from afar’. She created an itinerary for our family suggesting typical and not so typical excursions that thrilled our daughters and made the planning much less stressful for me. Juliette exceeded my already high expectations, and Michelle enabled my family to have a true Parisian adventure.

I work in the fashion industry and travel all over the world. There are some places that are just magical and "Juliette" is without a doubt, one of those places. My 16 year old daughter and I spent a week there and loved every minute of it! The location couldn't be better and we took full advantage of the wonderful bakeries and restaurants in the neighborhood. When we decided to "go local" and picnic along the Seine, we found a perfectly equipped picnic bag ready to go. Michelle has thought of everything! Coming home to our chic apartment was such a treat. We loved how stylish and comfortable it was. We were sad to leave, but know that we'll go back! We highly recommend a stay there. It's a real jewel.
